I am making Dr. Furhman’s Mushroom and Barley Soup as I listen to this clip! Earlier in the week I made a casserole of his with kale, mushrooms, broccoli and artichoke hearts in a cashew cream sauce that is a favorite in my household. My taste preferences have changed as he described.
I frequently make recipes from his daughter Talia’s book Deserts to Live For. Sometimes I freeze the deserts and eat a small amount daily and other times I share the entire cake, cookies or brownies with my family or take to share at social events.

Food addiction is a tough one. All the other addictive substances can be stopped completely, but with food, as they say, "you need to take the beast out of the cage a few times a day" 🤷‍♀️ But having delicious healthy recipes makes it easier.... 😊🎉❤

I don’t think we should minimize the difficulty of avoiding addictively tempting food from the meat, dairy and processed food industries.
If we compare whole plant foods to hose of the food industry based on taste or convenience whole plant foods lose every time.
But perhaps we should prioritize how whole plant foods reduce chronic disease, climate change and animal cruelty

I like to see one the vegan gurus looking strong, rather than frail, in old age. Perhaps it will Dr Fuhrman

Doug Graham is in his 70’s. He’s a raw vegan and the weight lifting champion in his age group. Very strong.
Plenty of exercise, particularly resistance training, is the key to being stronger. Dr. Fuhrman does that, too.
Graham and Fuhrman were both athletes their whole lives which makes a difference.

It seems most heath experts promote EITHER nutrition OR exercise. Few do both - although we need both - especially after 60
