I think the magnet are use to auto-align the Joycons, there are still a mechanical lock clicking. Probably to extend durability of the locking system. The rail mechanic use inconsistent human hand force which ruin the quality overtime. Press the unlock to pop out the Joycons without applying force with your hand.
The part about new games not being compatible with the first switch, is probably because there's a rumor going around that they will keep supporting the first one as a cheaper , budget friendly entry and the switch 2 would be like the powered up mid Gen refresh or something like that

Why should the Dock have a damping bracket? What even is the purpose on having adjustable angles for the Dock when the Switch just slides in and is connected via HDMI to your TV? Would it not be on the console itself?
Honestly my biggest gripe with the switch is bettery life and controller size. Out of the box, the switches battery was horrible undocked. I dont mind if its a bit heavier as a result.

Switch 2 wishlist for me: 60fps, 4K is a push but honestly 1080p if fine with me as long as the 60fps doesn't sink the battery. Xbox One/PS4 in terms of power would be fine for most to keep the portability.

There are some powerful magnets out there, but I just don't see them generating the necessary magnetic attraction in the joycons/switch in handheld mode. The battery usage would be huge.
No IT sounds quite simple. Shaping of The attachment point can increase friction and the magnet mainly maintains the right angle accounting for the intended hand pressure during gameplay. Simple and elegant.

I wouldn't recommend testing the theory, but if it does release with magnets, then they will use screens unaffected by magnetic fields. You're more likely to find problems in older tech than what's currently on the market.
I live overseas (Philippines) and I bought my first pair of Mobapad joy-cons through Lazada (PI version of Amazon). Had them for 3 years already, and still going strong. Purchased their newer version (M6-HD) joy-cons last year. Their joy-con quality is legit and way, way, better than Nintendo’s drift stick overpriced joy-cons. So ya, I believe what Mobapad is revealing concerning the Switch 2.
I’m not sure how they’re going to pull off a system that’s as powerful as the steam deck while being as thin as the current switch or maybe a little thicker.. either it’ll be much larger to distribute the hardware inside and prevent over heating, it’ll be a tad thicker or it won’t be as powerful as the steam deck. I’m just hoping that it’ll handle DD2 but I don’t think it will. I think they’re really nervous about it. They gave us something that was pretty amazing at the time and can’t go back
Needing an active electric current to hold the joy-cons in doesn't seem efficient. When you run out of batteries do your joy-cons fall out? If they are held in with a secondary mechanism then why bother with the extra drain?

The issue is trying to keep cost down. They could make it as powerful as a steam deck, which can do 4k docked, but it would be at least $400. It should be interesting.
Another problem, what is the actual POWER...? Basically if it's again 4 cores or 6 cores... and turbo from 1.5ghz or 2.2ghz turbo to 3.5ghz.. @6 cores will not be enough for future.. at LEAST 8 cores. And GPU.. in teraflops 4+ to 6+ TF I'd like to see... AND at least 300gb/s or so Texture rendering.. Even on 3-3.5 Teraflops 6 core 3.5 ghz it can RUN all the resolutions and Fps of the SWITCH1 games. But that wouldn't really be enough for NEXT GEN 'nintendo games' at these RES. I'm thinking SAME SWITCH style for future, dock and handheld but REAL power upgrade for the NEXT NEXT GEN.. Switch TWO will have to be real decent power jump not just same Switch 1 games from 1080p to QHD+... that's basically 4k dynamic on switch at least. BUT what settings will it run dynamic 4k... with RTX?? with ~ULTRA... with 60fps? XSX forza 8... and many other games.... Will it run ULTRA many settings or VERY HIGH many settings or HIGH?
The old joycons can be considered compatible and not attach to the system body. Technically the joycons are compatible with the Switch Lite because of Bluetooth.

I purchased a MobaPad controller in 2022. Been around before that. The info they are sharing may not be truthful, but I wanted to clarify that they are not new within the last couple months.
My theory is that this information was supposed to be published after their investor meeting on May 7th, where Nintendo most probably will announce the Switch 2 in some capacaty, and this was posted to early by mistake. But yeah, Nintendo might not be to happy with this and might make them to cut ties to this firm.
Considering how long these devs take to make these partially finished “live service” games, they should have had dev kits for the switch 2 a few years ago.
There needs to be some official news on games and hardware from Nintendo and Sony on at least "something", these constant rumors and specs are getting old. Gamers need something to get excited about, talk about, and look forward to, this year has been so slow!

My thoughts exactly. Mobapad is a high MID Tier controller brand that make decent controllers and trash dpad for fighting games (people who don't care for Street Figther may tell you otherwise). They probably making these assumptions; becuase they noticed people are becoming more reluctant to buy ANY current Switch accessories, unless it is certain they will work on the next gen console. They don't have any inside information; outside of common sense. If the next Switch uses bluetooth; then just about ANY bluetooth controller that currently works on the Switch; will 98% work on the next console; but don't expect it to connect phyiscally as it will most certainly use a different connection system. These fools; just want to make sure people keep buying their controllers.

They probably making these assumptions; becuase they noticed people are becoming more reluctant to buy ANY current Switch accessories, unless it is certain they will work on the next gen console. They don't have any inside information; outside of common sense. If the next Switch uses bluetooth; then just about ANY bluetooth controller that currently works on the Switch; will 98% work on the next console; but don't expect it to connect phyiscally as it will most certainly use a different connection system. These fools; just want to make sure people keep buying their controllers.
