This tutorial was about layering kicks, if people decide to use this technique in their own kicks or in samples is not my prob. For the tutorial I don't see it necessary to use own ones.
@@wildcrowmusic yeah i agree, i dont really care about people using others kicks, i just like to say that cus its kind of a meme right now, as long as a track sounds well mixed it should not be a problem if it isn't a pro kick maker who takes offense when someone does not make all the progress himself, everyone starts somewhere and this is a very good start as a tutorial

While *this type of kick layering* is definitely not a bad practice, you should rather show how to layer self made sounds. That's really the only thing you ever learn from. Layering kicks that are already finished up is just a matter of getting rid of and keeping certain frequencies and getting them to phase correctly. This is a whole different aspect than actual kick making (kick layering) Also, why would you use a multiband compressor on a sample? You should only EQ for whatever you aimed for in the video It's not always the case for compressors, but multiband compressors should always be a part of an FX chain(signal) and not on bounced audio I wont bother to do it but if you phase cancel the first kick and the final kick in this video you would probably end up with just a sizzling noise. With the compressor in mind I believe there will aso be a BUNCH of phasing frequencies.
In my opinion, there is no point of layering kicks and other one shots of packs, because they are already processed, unless you want something more from that one shot that you can’t achieve with eq and other fx. Also it would be nice if you make and a bigroom kick fron scratch!
They can be processed but maybe they are not as bright/dark/hard/distorted/etc as you want. So you combine it with other kicks and at the ends you have a different kick and more in the way you want
producing hardstyle lost its magic with all the dumbass kickpacks I remember the producers section on global hardstyle, that was a special place with loads of talent

So you took 2 average soundings kicks to make an average sounding kick which doesn't really sound different than the original samples and isn't really yours ? Nice job. Next step : buy whole tracks.
@@wildcrowmusic I mean, why are you even making music if you're not making one of the most important part of the genre ? Sure it's not the easiest to do, but it's very satisfying and rewarding when you finally manage to do it. On top of that, you can make it sound like you want.
First of all, I'm not a only hardstyle producer. I like melodic hardstyle because I come from progressive house. So until I get a nice kick for my hardstyle tracks, I prefer to use samples because otherwise my tracks wouldn't sound as professional. It is not something bad imo, the important is the end result.
