You should use mason jars to soak your parts in. Having a lid helps with being able to save on acetone.

I have bought a carburetor of a friend, its a Dell'Orto 17.5mm from a scooter, when i bought it it was all greasy and it was full of little rocks and sand, i cleaned it with a degreaser and a brush, then i put it in a white vinegar and salt overnight, i washed it, let it dry and then scrub it with a brass brush, its all nice and shiny, but after seing your carby i think its amazing

Awesome rebuild and restore process! Only thing I would have probably done different is either polish or coat in black, the four screws that went into the side of the carb that were leaking oil initially when you pre-heated it. That would have added that extra pop!
    Killer though bro!

Everything is looking good man! You seem to have enough patience to make every detail exactly the way you want it. I'm usually to impatient to spend this much time on one part! Also man it would be hard for me to ride a dirt bike that's going to be this refined as hard and through as much crap as I other bikes.

I have reading about ceramic coated piston for a while an I was wondering if cerakote is an alternative solution for professional piston ceramic coating. since you have the experience on using cerakote, what is the maximum temperature that cerakote can withstand and do you think it can be used for this particular application? thank you.

You know once I was experimenting with a motorcycle fuel take that needed to be sealed on the inside and it was all Corroded sitting around for years and wasn’t new anymore in the inside I dipped it in some muriatic acid and left it in there and rolled it around for about 30 minutes and when I finished and rinced it off, it was spotlessly clean like brand new So I think that would work good for you, is to dip your carburetor in some muriatic acid instead of doing all that buffing and polishing, you’ll come out with the same results and save some time. thanks my name is Jim, “the Outlaw”

I found out about the TMX carburetor is it's very lazy on the start mine came on a 2001 CR250 so I did a lot of research. In the TMX carb it comes with a number 9 dump tube if you go to a number 7 dump tube it makes the bike even more Snappy. Then I also bought a 2007 needle for the newer style Mikuni and it was like fuel injection on the bike just giving you guys a heads up. That way you don't have to go bye a new carburetor
