    Doing this head swap on my non hemi 212, port matched to the carb adaptor n exhaust, also had to cut in to my gaskets, I would of recommended the same especially since ur using the stock ghost carb adaptor

    curious do you also keep track of temp and humidity on the days you do these tests? be a cool vid to do a few tests on bikes with nothin changed but cooler temps/less humidity (not that humidity is a huge problem where you are). if everything else is the same the 212's smaller port likely boosted tq slightly for the faster 0-30 times. as always, great vid.

    Hard to tell but the exhaust pipe flange and port look to be different. If so wouldn’t and exhaust flange to match the port be less restrictive.

      I don't run a 32mm valve on any bore smaller than a 72mm (2.835) as the valve is too shrowded against the cylinder wall basically defeating the purpose of the bigger valve for 68-70mm bores a 28.5 intake valve is where it's at

    • @justinsebesta1288
      @justinsebesta1288 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes this true bore size would dictate the valve sizes. I have a 72mm bore rn and tried a big valve head but it wasn't a welded chamber. Sadly it was a bad casting and developed some nasty cracks in it.

    Alright so I figured yu would know since you’ve done many builds stock n billet parts ! How would a stock 224 with a straight pipe exhaust and a mukuni carb will the stock internals be fine removing the governor cuz it says stock internals can handle up to 5,000 rpm when removing governor and do yu think a aluminum flywheel and a cam will do it for a flywheel and a rod ? ? And also do I have to remove the governor wheel from the inside motor ?

      You can use the same piston for multiple heads as long as there is no need for a valve relief with a high lift cam.

    • @Deucealive75
      @Deucealive75 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I don't think anyone sells one. You may have to get any old gasket and trim it to size which isn't exactly easy.

  • @srcobra50

    I have a question, if a cam calls for 22 lbs springs what happens if I use 18lbs ones? I have a torque converter that won’t let the engine go passed 4200 rpm so do I really need the heavier springs? The cam is a 252 rattlesnake cam. Just want to know before I install it.

    • @Deucealive75
      @Deucealive75 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      This is a very good question. The recommended springs are not only to support RPM. They also support the cams lobe profile.
      I used that cam in my 224 build and just went with the 22's. The engine shouldn't see much more than 5K RPM. I used gearing that will allow the whole 4K RPM range. There's no way that I would use stock Coleman gearing with a torque converter and I'm not getting a Juggernaut. I don't need 7K RPM.

    • @srcobra50
      @srcobra50 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Deucealive75 thanks for the reply it’s a question I’ve had for a long time. Il hold off on the install until I get some 22s

    • @Deucealive75
      @Deucealive75 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@srcobra50 I was wrong about my RPM. A few weeks ago I did a top speed run and got 5550 max RPM on the tach. The 252 cam works very well in my whole RPM range. I use a yellow spring in the driven of my torque converter and it powers right through the belt shift at around 4500 RPM.

    So the 224 Non-Hemi head beats the Ghost Hemi head... Could the 224 head be installed to a standard 212 Hemi Motor? Could you (if you havent already make a video with a side-by-side comparison of the three head (212 Hemi head, Ghost Hemi Head, and 224 non-hemi head.. and if you want the 212 non-hemi head). I have a 212 Hemi.. but would be great to know if I can throw a 224 head on it to get better 0-30 and and top speed with it.

    • @Deucealive75
      @Deucealive75 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The 224 head is a bolt on to the Hemi block. But you should take it a step further and get the proper head gasket for it to get more compression. After you remove the hemi head bring the piston to TDC and measure how far the piston is in the hole. If it's .020" then you would get a .010" head gasket for it as an example. You want .030" in between the head and the piston. If it's more than .020" in the hole just use a .010" head gasket.
      Then do whatever it takes to get Champion rockers on the head. A 224 head with Champion rockers will produce more power than a stock hemi head.

    • @ChristopherJones16
      @ChristopherJones16 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Deucealive75 thanks for the info so basically I want at least .030 between the piston and head. Anything more lie .035-.040 is acceptable, but not less than .030.
      Thanks for the tip on the rockers too. Is there specific springs that are the best for this setup too?

    • @Deucealive75
      @Deucealive75 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@ChristopherJones16 Yes but closest to 30 is best.
      I'm different than others when it comes to springs. I would use stock springs until I decide to go with a rod, flywheel, and cam. Then I would use springs that the cam calls for.
