    I have a 991.1. You don't need to remove the rear speed activated spoiler to remove the bumper. I performed the 4k service and had to remove the rear bumper, and by raising the spoiler, all the fasteners are easily accessible. And, removing the wheels is very helpful.

    💥 awesome!! Agreed on the rear bumper on the .1 not being aggressive enough. I struggle with this as well on mine. EBay!? Never even thought of going on there to look for one.

    I realise there has been over 3 years for this video, but I'm fascinated with the wheels: looking like BBS or HRE, but honestly, I can't place these. Could you please identify the wheels?

    Hello
    So you upgrade C2S to C4 bumper and width almost same?
    as I know C2 Vehicle width 1808mm and C4 1852mm
    but looks perfect in video👍

    • @nineelevensouth
      @nineelevensouth  ปีที่แล้ว

      No. The width was slightly different but I was able to make it work because the bumper is flexible.

  • @lowtography
    @lowtography หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    Looks dope. One big question. Do you got a gts? Because the 2s ist Not That wide as 4s. I wondering That the bumper from 4s Is fitting at your car 😨🤔🤔🤔🤔

    • @nineelevensouth
      @nineelevensouth  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      It's a 4S bumper, my car is a 2S, so it's slighter wider than the car but because it's a flexible material I was able to make it wrap around properly. I didn't purposely get a 4S bumper. The eBay ad description wasn't correct (said it was for a 2S) but by the time I realized it, it had already been painted and paid for at my body shop. So I just made it work...

    The retrofit was a great update! I would’ve thought the wide body from the C4 would cause more issues around the wheel well.

    • @nineelevensouth
      @nineelevensouth  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks! I did too, that's why I couldn't figure out what was going on with the gap below the spoiler at first, because is still fit at the wheels wells. I think they are a couple of inches different, but the plastic is flexible enough so that you don't have any issues.

      @@nineelevensouth It's good to know that the 991.2 C4 widebody bumper will fit std 991.1 S. Question, where did you end up finding the mesh strip to fill in the gap for 3rd brake light bar? Turned out great!

    • @jerryg9061
      @jerryg9061 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@davenamba It actually doesn't fit. You can clearly see it in the video. It looks like the bumper is being "pinched" and it's causing gaps. Look at 14:09 play it on .25 speed and you can clearly see a huge gap on the passenger side where the bumper meets the fender. You can also see from the back that it doesn't fit. Look at 13:34 and you can see on the driver side that the bumper is too wide and is being "pinched" to fit causing it to stick out.

      I'm also considering this upgrade for my 2014 C2S convertible (with stock spoiler). I extremely like the OEM-middle LED-reflector beam (that normally is only on the 4 and 4S as we know) and should have no trouble wiring it up to the license plate lighting (12V source). I can source a used 4S rear bumper out here, however I am wondering how the fit will be since the 4/4S bumper is somewhat wider as discussed here. I had a close look at the comments of Jerry G with regard to the gaps, but I would honestly not refer to the gaps visible as 'huge', however I'd have to see in person how it looks in real life.... @nineelevensouth, would it be possible to share a couple more close-up pics of the gaps between the metal bodywork of your C2S and the 4/4S rear bumper that you used ? Do the screw points still line up well enough to make it fit 'as if it were OEM' ? If it really looks 'off' (on the pictures it simply looks great to be honest and hardly noticable !) I may want to opt for the regular narrowbody C2/C2S bumper instead. Thanks !

    I just purchased a 991.1 S with a TechArt II spoiler like yours. I need to pull it off to change the air filter and access the exhaust etc. Can you help me out with the bolts that I can't find that are not accessible from the top under the engine lid that you pointed out in your video. Thanks Subscribed

      So I have come to find out that my install is unique. I only have two large bolts that are right next to the bolts that secure the rear tail lights. Based on your post, it sounds like you have additional bolts elsewhere (I have had several people reach out about this same thing). So, I'm not sure I'll be of much help. But, I would recommend reaching out to Techart via Instagram messenger for help. I have several times and they were responsive. Sorry I couldn't offer more advice.

      @@nineelevensouth With some help from some other TechArt II spoilers DIY'ers. I was able to remove it. Just 1 bolt on each side upper right and left. Next remove 3 bolts on each side of the wing to gain access to the uprights for the wing. Underneath the wing, remove the 2 bolts on each side to undo the top upright mounts, then remove the single bolt that is securing the bottom upright and the base of the wing. Next reach up inside between the bottom portion of the wing/base combo and pop out the third brake light and unclip it. Behind the the 3rd brake light, 4 bolts that secure the center portion on the deck lid. Remove those and you're done.
