whenever i’m having a hard time in life i come to sissels videos for comfort 💗 her videos can really be the light in my darkness. thank you for your comfort sissel❤️
Seeing you go into your book girly era is so amazing! It brought me back to when I would refrain from reading romance novels until I stumbled upon the "Luxe" series by Ana Godberson back when I was 17 and now I'm about to be 25 in a few weeks. I've lately been in a paranormal, psychological book genre mood and have been obsessing with Darcy Coates and Brian Harmon!
catching up on vlogs and wow you’re really inspiring me to get back into reading (and self care!) after a literal years long reading slump🥹💓 luv u sissel
Wow sissel I wish I would be motivated to read like you, but honestly I can’t pick up a single book for the life of me, maybe one day I’ll get inspired or motivated somehow. All I have to say is that I have been following you since the very beginning and I learned to take life easier and more relaxed. Life is so beautiful and peaceful after I’ve been living the way I want,I don’t care how people judge me.
I'm sorry???? Five years in korea already?! I've followed your since right before you moved. Thank you for being such a constant in my life. I'm so happy to see the life you built for yourself in korea and i wish you all the best ❤️
giirrrrlllll……..I have never felt excited to get back to work after a holiday especially when a new year starts, I just feel life just continues as it was before. I wish the holiday would never end infact 😂😅
I’m lucky to have a job I really really love that challenges me in ways that fulfill me. I’m really lucky and I’m thankful for this job 💚 sorry it doesn’t feel like that for you. Remember that life has endless opportunities, we gotta go and catch them ourselves though. Wish you the best 💚
I didn’t know you didn’t go to Uni. I quit school and sometimes feel like less of a person for it but..I love seeing successful people who also did not go or quit. I love reading educational books on my own and learning on my own. 😅❤️
Honestly, not going to uni is the best decision I’ve ever made. Most of the hugely successful people didn’t. I think it forces you to really learn to stand on your own legs. But ofc, uni is amazing too, I have so many friends loving it, but it isn’t for everyone 💚 proud of you love!
4:47 Sissellll you are sooo into Fantasy and romance just like me ❤❤❤ I would loveee to recommend some of my favourites, 1. Selection series by Kiera Cass (romance, dystopian world with hierarchy, selection of the princess to marry the prince kind of audition and stuff) 2. Red Queen series by Victoria Aveyard (romance, dystopian world with classes seperating people, fantasy, superpower, romamce) 3. Shadow and bones series by Leigh Bardugo (romance, superpowers, dark piece of land where monsters lay no light penetrates) 4. Six of crows series by Leigh Bardugo (Land of outcasts who take up jobs for money, group of six made for an impossible heist, romance, everybody has secrets) 5. The Complete summerseries - The Summer I turned pretty - Jenny Han (romance and first love, American beachhouse themed) 6. Caraval series - Stephanie Garber (magic, romance, drama, everything's just a game)
@sisselab Hehe, my pleasureeee!!! And I've been binge watching your content since yesterday. Absolutely loveeeee your bubbly character, energy, aesthetic, and content ❤❤❤ had heard your name on Cari's videos, so I searched for you and loved that you are also into books!! Lots of love ❤❤❤
I love following you! I hope to visit Seoul in a couple years. Yes 🙌🏾, I’m going to download Dark Notes on my Kindle right now. Thanks! Nothing like a good read on a snow day.
I'm so glad you said that you weren't impressed by throne of glass because I felt like I'm alone! I just don't like it?? I read Crescent City, jumped back into ACOTAR then got to TOG and just... can't finish it? I need to reorganize our books but Hubby is a comic reader and the commitment makes me want to cry.
Hi, Sissel and Happy Sunday!😊😊😊😊😊😎☀💙💙💙💙💙💙🇺🇸🌷🇰🇷💚💚💚💚💚💚🎇🎇🎇🎇🎇🎇👍. You're made it back home in Korea safely! YAY!💚🎉💚🎉💚🎉🎇. Also, the new bookcase looks super pretty and neat. And the food 10:49 is so delicious!😍😍😍😍😍😍👍. Well done!⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐👍
On book 6 from Throne of Glass (Empire of Storms). I would read a book a year and I read the first 5 books all in December 2023. 😅 assassin’s blade is good in the last couple of chapters but it helps with the rest of the books. I read it after throne of glass and I am glad that I did if not I would have not continued with the series.
Business is for sure something, that you can teach yourself, especially the things you need to build a successfull business and career. Of course you can also read on all the theoratical theories etc that are taught in uni , but I don't think they is very helpful in everyday life (and yes, I study business myself as part of my bachelors degree) I am happy you found fun books for yourself that you can enjoy after reading non-fiction for so long🤗 For me, if a book can't hold up on its own without the spice, then its an immediante no, sorry not sorry😅 A lot of my friends have read the Caraval-series and the Once upon a broken heart-series and convinced me to read them as well, I haven't read fantasy books in quite some time, eventhough I liked them as a teenager, I can't wait to dive into them!☺ I wish you a great start into this new week!🥰
Not me smiling wide while you're showing the dark romance books and fantasy collection, love your choices! Credence will forever be my Roman Empire 💕 If you like Penelope Douglas, you can also try Devil's Night series 😄
Regarding university degrees: You can definitely learn business or basically any skill on your own. Most of your practical skills only develop after university anyway. But depending on the branch, job and country (or even competition) you often don't have a choice but to go to university as degrees or any kind of official proof are a hiring requirement. Books: I hate non-fiction books. I just can't read them. It's either fantasy or health related studies for me. I don't read romance or smut either. Sometimes I don't feel like a "real adult" because it seems like others make more "sophisticated" choices^^"
sissel, i just love your book era!! i am currently reading "the seven husband of evelyn hugo" and its SO good, i think you would love it :) another book i recently read is "the book of hope" by jane goodall, which is nonfiction but so so good. i actually cried while reading it because it was so touching and hopeful
I really wanna read the seven husbands too!! I heard it’s being filmatized as well? And the book of hope, that sounds so beautiful 🥹💚 I’ll check it out!
Hey sissel I'm really happy to watch your vlog! Sadly I am sick at the moment I've been sleeping pretty much the whole day and I still feel weak (but can't sleep at the moment), so I went online and there was your video.. I'm happy for you that you have a place or rather places you can call home.
Hey Sissel, I don't know if it's included in the pregnancy multivitamin but you should look into taking folic acid as well as it's really important before and during pregnancy! I loved the book tour as well hehe. Take care!! 💚
The fact that I ALMOST dnf acotar! Thankfully a couple of people told me to push through and now I'm OBSESSED and I don't use that word often! I have now started a court of mist and fury ✨️ which book from this series was your fave Sissel? Another great vlog ❤
If you havent, I really suggest trying out some classic scifi! I feel like you might love it :) Some suggestions are; Brave new world - Aldous Huxley. The southern reach trilogy by Jeff vanderMeer! The whole Robot series + foundation series of Isaac asimov.
Okay I’ll start doing that! It’s just hard cause I don’t really eat a fatty breakfast (smoothie). Perhaps I should have some nut butter or some seeds and nuts with it haha 💚 thanks!
I have to pause the video to give my 2 cents to powerless 😂 I made a book club with a few of my friends and it was ME who suggested powerless cuz I also heard VERY good things about it. Well, here I am in the middle of January having read TWO chapters and I don't wanna continue 😂 (not because its bad or anything but the font is tiny and I am not that motivated to read atm) but I hope you like it 😂💜
The vitamin D pearls - especially that brand, I highly recommend, when I use to have really bad vitamin-d deficiency, my mum used to get me that prescribed from the doctors.. dunno where I can find them now 😕
I just read Fourth Wing myself and haven't started Iron Flame yet -- I had that holiday copy of FW with the extra Xaden POV chapters. I heard a lot of people felt Iron Flame doesn't live up to FW, so I'm very curious to read it soon!
Hi Sissel, I have a book recommendation for you. I love the author Sally Rooney & I recommend you to read her book conversations with friends, I think you will like it too. Lots of love ❤️ ✨
I bought the one I currently have in this cute little handmade shop in insadong ! Inside that outside mall that twists up in a spiral 💚 but many Korean tourism shops also have cute Korean themed bookmarks!
I am very happy to see Sissel's smile & being happy. With all the books you recommend, I would say yes❤. I am sure our body & mind need nutritions exp food, books, friends, family members & etc. & I always believe we hv to respect all beings. So when I have my meal, I would thank god & the veggies I eat, a simple chant when eat any sort of meat/seafood. Pray for the beings I eat so that they can be a better being in the future. Om ah hom......
Sissel, before bed, just take vitamin D and the magnesium pills. In the morning, you can take the multivitamin and iron + vitamin c - but no coffee or dairy with iron. If you haven't already, you should add some Omega 3, with lunch and dinner. 🤗
Hey why no coffee or dairy with iron? I have anemia and I take iron in a luqid form in the morning and at night, I drink it in the morning and about 40 min after I have my coffee is that bad?
@@alodiah2422 Hi, I was anemic as well and this is what my GP(doctor) and the pharmacist told me. Apparently dairy and coffee make iron more difficult to absorb. I live in London, UK. Maybe ask your doctor? But this is what I am being told every time I get a new prescription. But please make sure your iron supplements contain vitamin C, if not make sure you get some at the same time. Can be just some orange juice.
@@alodiah2422 One more thing, you can definitely have some caffeine and dairy, if you take iron supplements, just wait for 60 - 90 minutes after you take the iron. So don't worry too much. ☺
I work at the pharmacy in Denmark and u have to take the all energy in the morning ☺️ But u were right about d vitamins contains fat so good idea to take the rest in the evening 😊 I’m a little concerned about the big amount of d-vitamin cause in Denmark we only recommend 10 and some doctors mostly says 25-35. But I know in Germany they take like 200. So I don’t know if we are just scared for the amount of d vitamins in Denmark. But u could go to a doctor and figure out which kind of vitamins u need ☺️
I’ll need to research this for sure ! I do have a history of always becoming vitamin d deficient, I guess cause partly of my very pale skin, but I’ll definitely look it up. Thanks ! 💚
I'm in Germany and for my Vit D deficieny doctors gave me really high amounts of Vitamin D but only in supplements that contain K2 too because apparently this way you can't really overdose on your Vit D intake
@sissel you need to read "a touch of darkness"-series. Its greek mythology lore in modern times and it just hits all the right spots (and spices :D ) !
Hi Sissel, I also have doubts about when is the best time to take my vitamins, I take vit C, E, D, Omega, Cider vinegar and calcium all at morning, and only Magnesium at night, I don’t know if I am doing it correctly 😅 can you ask your mom?, tell her I have probably her age ❤️
Loved seeing you organize your books (: In the category 'feminism' (i'm a gender studies researcher) I would highly recommend Sara Ahmed's "Living a Feminist Life", Audre Lorde's "Sister Outsider" and bell hooks' "All About Love"! ♥
Serious question: do you have and use libraries in Korea? Do they have a decent collection of books in other languages? Of the TH-camrs I've watched I can't recall any of them talking about this
Good question ! Libraries are not super common but there are some official in each district. I haven’t tried seeing what the selection is yet tho, maybe I should try and go 💚
I learned to be comfortable in speaking even when I wasn’t very good at it thanks to my Korean friends. I only really had non English speaking Korean friends here for the first long time after moving. So throw yourself out in uncomfortable situations is what I recommend! Now I’m taking private lessons at an academy to level up a bit and I also love that 💚
hi, sissel! i am planning to go to korea for a few months this year and as a vegetarian eating mostly plant based i am a little worried i will struggle with living there in this regard. i think in one of your older videos you mentioned that korea kind of forced you to quit eating vegan because it was too difficult. was that also the case with being vegeterian or did you change your diet for different reasons? i am just concerned that i won't have anything to eat 😭 also, i'm sorry if you've talked about this before, i only started watching your videos recently 🥲
Hi there! So I lived in Korea for 4 months and I was vegan before that. And I was literally starving the first month. It’s okay in Seoul if you’re up to driving to specific vegan restaurants all the time but if you’re out somewhere and you want to eat dinner near you then it’s really difficult. I ate fish there and sometimes meat because even the “veggie gimbap” had meat in it 🥲 and the soups are also based on either fish or meat broth… I don’t want to discourage you because before I went to Korea my friend who was just there told me it’ll be difficult for me as a vegan and I was super optimistic and said “ah don’t worry, it’s always possible”… it wasn’t, I was starving until I gave in and just ate whatever (unless you have a kitchen and plan to cook for yourself; but that would also be kinda sad because i feel like part of traveling is eating local foods as often as possible)
hello! I am vegan and was only in Seoul and Jeju for a month last spring, and found it surprisingly easier than I feared! I do agree though with the other reply that it’s more about going to fully vegan/veg restaurants than being able to eat plant based in random restaurants wherever you go (as non veg restaurants will not have options or customizable dishes) so it involves more planning than some cities. However, I saved on google maps/Naver maps where all the vegan or veg friendly restaurants were in each area, and when I found myself in those places I’d venture to the saved restaurant - and everything was easily reachable by public transport (in Seoul at least). There were so many vegan places in Seoul that I wasn’t even able to complete my list in the few weeks! So many vegan bakeries and dessert shops too! admittedly it was easier for me because my partner who I was traveling with is also vegan, so I can imagine it is more complicated if you’re travelling with non vegans and the group goes to a non vegan restaurant where you can’t order plant based dishes…but just wanted to share my own small experience that it was definitely doable and some vegan places there were so so delicious. You can check Happy Cow for a list of top places or check out TH-camrs Alexandra Oleson and BakeyVakeu’s “Vegan in Korea Challenge” for inspo. It looks like there are even more vegan options in supermarkets and convenience stores room so with a little planning it should hopefully be lots of fun. Hope you enjoy Korea!
I lived in Korea for several months and have been 5 times over the years, all as a vegan. The only times I had to really eat non vegan stuff was when I was with my bfs family. I try to look over the anchovies in kimchi thing tho bc sometimes it’s impossible. If you speak a little Korean, they can modify the kimbap often. I’d highly advise learning some Korean to read ingredients bc snacks, crisps and convenience store food is pretty much never vegan. Bibimbap is a life saver as is juk (야채/채소 죽) rice porridge). Side dishes aren’t often vegan friendly. Look for restaurants with good namul (나물) bc they are always vegan. Most Korean food that’s vegan friendly is Buddhist so also look for those types of restaurants. Cooking and veganising Korean recipes will be your saving grace. Nowadays there’s tonnessss more options compared to when I first went in 2017. If you need anymore tips/ recs feel free to dm me 😊
sisseee elsker dine videoer, men elsker også den måde du dekorerer på. husker du har snakket om dit sofabord engang, men hvor var det fra? hvis det er i sydkorea må jeg nok opgive min drøm om at finde et magen til aha
The L-carnitine supplementation you're taking could disrupt your sleep, since the red meat you're eating also has L-carnitine so it might be better to take it during the day. Also research has shown that women taking L-carnitine had 65% higher ovulation rates and for men it increases sperm motility so Jake can take it as well. I'm a pharmacy student so this is not just some random stuff I made up hahah
Vitamin K, E, D and A needs fat to be absorbed, so they should be taken with a meal. Also do not drink coffee or eat chocolate an hour before or after taking the vitamins.
Yes I love the message of “it’s never the wrong time to start again” bc I feel like lots of people see themselves falling off resolutions, and are discouraged to try again until the next year. Thanks for another relaxing vlog to start my Sunday 🫶🏻
Absolutely ! We just gotta find that energy and will power inside of us again 💚

Haha he’s home usually around 5/6 ish! but it’s not really a couple channel so I don’t really film him 💚 he’ll be on here for a qna in 2 hours tho!
@@sisselab ahah yeah sometimes we forget you're not living alone anymore and... there's Jake lmao 😂
Hi Sissel! As always, loved loved loved watching this
Ohh I have no idea at all, sorry! 💚
Sissel, before bed, just take vitamin D and the magnesium pills. In the morning, you can take the multivitamin and iron + vitamin c - but no coffee or dairy with iron. If you haven't already, you should add some Omega 3, with lunch and dinner. 🤗
Thank you so much for this!! 🥹💚🫶🏼
@@HIMYLA Thank you ever so much for this elaborate response, will do so! 🙏🤗
Heyyy where is your bookmark from? It is so pretty and I would Love to have something like it
It’s from a cute little handmade shop in insadong ! It’s a chrysanthemum knot 💚
I always took 10 but wasn't enough so now I take 20!
Home is in your 💚
I love that 💚
@sissel you need to read "a touch of darkness"-series. Its greek mythology lore in modern times and it just hits all the right spots (and spices :D ) !
Ooooooo anything with “dark” in the title intrigues me haha 💚
Thank you for the book recommendations! 💚
Serious question: do you have and use libraries in Korea? Do they have a decent collection of books in other languages? Of the TH-camrs I've watched I can't recall any of them talking about this
Good question ! Libraries are not super common but there are some official in each district. I haven’t tried seeing what the selection is yet tho, maybe I should try and go 💚
Hi I just want to askyou how did you learn Korean bc I'm planning to and idk from where to start.
Much loveee ^^❤
I learned to be comfortable in speaking even when I wasn’t very good at it thanks to my Korean friends. I only really had non English speaking Korean friends here for the first long time after moving. So throw yourself out in uncomfortable situations is what I recommend! Now I’m taking private lessons at an academy to level up a bit and I also love that 💚
With your love for dark romance. I would highly recommend the Legacy of Gods series by Rina Kent.
Ooooo I’ll look it up 😍💚
Brava sissel video ok ottimo su tutto 😊😊😊
I miss u in Denmark 🇩🇰 ❤

hi, sissel! i am planning to go to korea for a few months this year and as a vegetarian eating mostly plant based i am a little worried i will struggle with living there in this regard. i think in one of your older videos you mentioned that korea kind of forced you to quit eating vegan because it was too difficult. was that also the case with being vegeterian or did you change your diet for different reasons? i am just concerned that i won't have anything to eat 😭 also, i'm sorry if you've talked about this before, i only started watching your videos recently 🥲
If you need anymore tips/ recs feel free to dm me 😊
@@sisselab ejj tusinde tak for svaret 🤗
The L-carnitine supplementation you're taking could disrupt your sleep, since the red meat you're eating also has L-carnitine so it might be better to take it during the day. Also research has shown that women taking L-carnitine had 65% higher ovulation rates and for men it increases sperm motility so Jake can take it as well. I'm a pharmacy student so this is not just some random stuff I made up hahah
Wow this is amazing knowledge love, thank you so much!! I’ll tell take to take it too 💚💚
Vitamin K, E, D and A needs fat to be absorbed, so they should be taken with a meal. Also do not drink coffee or eat chocolate an hour before or after taking the vitamins.
Does this mean back to regular uploading schedule? @_@
Yes!! Well, actually I’m gonna be uploading more than once a week here in January because of a project. So you’ll have a lot of content this month! 💚
You are so so cute, I love watching you!
Reads the book “How not to die” brings home cows flesh 😢
Don't take B and D-vitamins at night. It's not good for your sleep.
Rebecca Yarros is not someone to support 🥺🍉
please be careful with mixing so many supplements. taking to many or mixing strong vitamins can be super hard on your body
I HIGHLY recommend "Invisible Women" by Caroline Criado-Perez. It is truly eye opening.
I’ve heard about this one ! thanks 💚
Skønne billeder Sissel.
