  • On October 25, 2021 my husband and I moved with our 8 children from The United States of America to Gambia, Africa! We made this move without a backup plan! We are an African American family moving back to Africa. Going back home to Africa is a dream come true for our family. We'd like to share this journey with other families who would like to know what life is life moving to Africa from America.
    Listed below is the link to donate charity to The Water Well projects in Gambia Africa. Donations are to raise money for cementing of a water well for a family in need. Please donate any dollar amount. All donations are appreciated! Thanks so much.

    Groceries are too expensive. We never buy anything in a can, always fresh. Lamb chops. Goat meat . Live by the sea now, in Morocco. Crab. Oyster. You name it! Much better here. descent roads. No blackouts. Done lived in Gambia , Senegal. Togo. Guinea-Bissau..love those countries and their peoples, what an amazing experience. Morocco is what I ve always been looking for. Everything is there. Such a peaceful land

    Loved this vlog! I’m excited to see more in sha Allah. Sis you need a trolley lol! Walking down the street seeing the animals reminds me of Egypt. Goats, sheep, donkey’s, horses, chickens, just chilling on the side of the roads lol.and that ramen!! Amazing. If you can find the same brand in white with the fried egg on it, they are a must try! LOL. The junk food was a marvel because like you said it was so much cleaner. I remember reading a Twinkie package and it had regal ingredients lol (sugar, flour etc).

      We are all African Americans that moved here from America. My grandma, uncle, and his family moved to The Gambia 1 year before I did, Alhamdulilah.

    Have you been to the Tanji Market? If you eat seafood, that’s where I get all mine from when I’m in The Gambia.

    Sis try buying the peanut paste in the village and just add sugar if you want like a commercial peanut butter bc I know the peanut butter is expensive.

      I actually love this idea! Thank you for this tip! My children love the peanutbutter. I bet they'd enjoy helping make some too.

    How much can $20 USD get you there? I ask because I send money to a family there and it seems like $20 American dollars doesn't get them much at all.

    • @summersinafrica
      @summersinafrica  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      $20 can buy some fruits and vegetables...a few packs of Ramen noodles. Depends on what they're eating, but the conversion is 1,000 Dalasi. It doesn't last much longer than $20 would last in America.
