    Having pigs in the water will tramp it down so it will hold water like a small pond, ask a old farmer and they will tell you if the pond leaks, put pigs in and they will make it solid and always hold water.

    • @ldg2655
      @ldg2655 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Bambirita : I’ve heard that too, except about cows.. I looked at a property a couple of years ago that had a dry pond, and the owner just said that if I fed the cows in that spot, they’d tramp down the bottom of the pond...who knew?🤷‍♀️

      Was going to add this comment also. Leave the spring 'cover' so the pigs dont tramp down that and cut off the water, but let them tramp down the earth and you'll have a nice little water area.

Another TH-camr, Bakers Green Acres, cleared brush with his hogs and gave them access to an overgrown spring. His hogs actually cleared around the spring and improved it with their rooting. You might try letting your pigs work on your spring as well, to see if you get similar results. They certainly can't damage it.

    Two things you probably already know: 1. catbriar (smilax) sprouts taste like asparagus (yes, I have eaten it) and 2. if you get poison ivy on your skin, either pour rubbing alcohol over the affected area or blot with alcohol-soaked cotton balls to disperse the ivy oil but Never Ever rub because that spreads the irritation.

    Great plans and progress you two!
    Watching the pigs with the bucket, maybe they need a ball or something to play with?
    I actually chuckled when you snapped fingers into the next day, ponytail bouncing made it look authentic!!HAPPY NEW YEAR!

How did you ever come up with the Chain contraption? Great way to clear overgrown area. Beautiful Homestead in the makings. God Bless and Peace Be With You All ☮️ 🙏❣️

    Just wait until spring. Those pigs will really be in for a feast when all the spring foliage, and flora starts popping up everywhere. I love your blade cutter chain thingy. I'm going to get my husband to make one of those. He needs it here on our farm! You guys are looking great! Journey On!

    Your "TH-cam magic" and the comment you made about today being tomorrow and tomorrow is today reminded me of a plaque my grandparents had on their screened in porch when I was a kid. It read: "Today is the Tomorrow you Dreamt About Yesterday". It was funny because I remember being little and reading it and not quite getting what it meant, then on one visit a few years later I had my "aha moment". It makes me smile every time I think of it.
    My goodness those baby piglets are adorable. They are so dang cute!

    That is one of the noisiest pigs ever. You messed with her dwelling spot. Pigs do not like change, but they quickly adapt.

    You might have the right elevation and light conditions to grow Ginseng. Check it out...good money crop.

    I hate thorn trees, when i was a kid our outhouse was a good ways away from the house and there were thorn trees on each side of the path to the outhouse, rest assured i didn't use the outhouse.
