Mike, don't beat yourself up, please. We know how hard you & your Family work, how diligent & attentive you are to your homestead.
Glad you're working your way back. And its always so, so beautiful to see your kids at work!❤ They're super junior homesteaders! Love you all. God's Blessings & Peace to you.❤❤❤

Having a new baby is enough to throw off your weeding farm maintenance schedule. You're doing more than I did this year and I don't have a baby.

Mike, sometimes God slows us down. I had three weeks down in July due to having lymes. I was so exhausted that walking down to the garden was tiring. I'm learning to listen to my body and rest as needed. I have since been able to clean up the weedy areas and plant my fall garden 😊 I'm praying you have a successful fall harvest 😊
    Feel better, Salah.

Great job. Kudos to all, I hope Sela is feeling better. One small observation. In my experience when working with thicker material pre-drill your holes then put your screws in. You'll find the job will go faster. Stay safe and I pray that Debbie doesn't do damage to you or your farm. Mike from Maine

I'm wondering instead of plastic sheeting over the door ...instead use plexiglass. That way in the winter you have a bit more strength and protection from the elements. Just a thought!

I feel your pain. We had rain all spring causing so many weeds in my garden. I couldn’t keep up with weeding. I ended up having to mow my garden. In Texas, all the vegetables are now finished. I’m covering mine with black tarps and leaving it until next spring.

    The weeds always grow great!
    My gardens looks like yours!..
I am not stressing about it!
I live inside city limits but we can't burn and dont have animals. We have to haul it to landfill they wont even pick up!
So this year it will die down with frost and become mulch..
Its been too hot to stay out long.

I have been fight Bermuda Grass for 40 years here in Tucson, Arizona ! Back in the 1950’s through the early 1980’s water rates were “reasonable”… and my house had lawns in the front and back… In the 1990’s I started to put in low water use plants. Those Bermuda Grass roots go down about 4 feet!

I had same weeds, embarrassing as i just gave up. I chopped what i could a few times. Spent lots of time and money creating a garden for the takeover. Also flooded a few times too, feel your pain. 😢😢 😢 bristly greenbrier, horseweed, giant ragweed, brown eyed susans to name a few amd some kind of prolific tree i couldnt pull out.

I’ve had areas where weeds have won the battle this year. We deal with lots of bindweed and ragweed.
I had a severe back injury and lots of pain. I’m not able to run the weed eater and had other physical restrictions that made it impossible for me to stay on top of the weeds. I hope to be able to get to it soon.
You are right in saying that there are times when we can’t do it all.

Darn weeds !, at least your goats and cows and chickens can benefit from the excess weeds. Good job making progress so quickly !! Live and learn, year by year, step by step. I know that some homesteaders are making good use of weed fabric which is a time-saver in the long run. Yay for the Fall garden on the horizon. Good job kids helping out your dad !!! We all have wins in the garden and fails mainly because of the harsh weather.Nice positive and uplifting video ...music and all. You are always learning and growing along the way and helping us all out as you tackle garden chores and tasks and projects to make life easier and better . We all get injured from time to time and you persevered through it all. Thank you

We so far have had a bad harvest on tomatoes. Folks around here are getting close to five dollars a pound. So we won't be canning tomatoes or corn this year. Corn is 6.50 to 8.00 a dozen. Store price on corn on the Cobb is 2.50 each. Local farmers is even higher on their produce.
