    You’re a hard working guy, Ben. I love how you make strides at your own pace. It’ll get done. I realize that you refer to your future home as the mobile home. It's farm life. It's like cleaning a home. There's always something to do, and most of it is repetitive. I truly believe, though, that once you finish your home and get settled, you won't feel so pushed.

    I write down all of the things to do on three lists. One is the yearly 'big picture' list, then are weekly lists, and finally I make a daily list on a notepad that I can keep in my pocket. If I can't get something done, no worries, I carry it over and begin the next day's list with it. Things will get done in their own time. Just tackle the 'need to do' items before the 'want to do' items, and you'll have less 'emergency to do' stuff 😉

    • @shelia4735
      @shelia4735 4 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      I do the same thing only big vision - goal/projects that make up the vision - small goals that make up the larger goals - then a weekly list that get me closer to the goals ..as long as the weekly list gets done my time has been dedicated to the goals. Without my weekly list I feel like I'm not going anywhere at this point.

      Justin Rhodes quoted something the other day that really resonated with me...if we do 1% of our goals/projects every day then over the course of a year, we will accomplish significant improvement. As someone that has to fight the all or nothing tendencies, it was a valuable reminder that some progress is always better than none, and the encouragement that comes with it, builds even more incentive to dig in...

    Not every day on the homestead is fun or exciting but in those days there are moments when a lot of knowledge can be passed along. No one ever sees the bad days, the overwhelming days, the "what next" or "what was I thinking" days..and my favorite "nothing is cooperating today"! So baby peeps, view of the countryside, clearing land while using protective gear, repurposing nesting boxes and cardboard, riding a cart down the hill and just explaining that even your to do list is fluid because of weather. Tractor Supply is one of my favorite places! Love the improvisation with the nest box. I’d never considered cardboard and wood shavings. We always used straw in our nests, but your solution looks like it works, too. Good video!
