Thanks for the recipe. I grew up eating these every year for the holidays. My grandmother is 85 now and no longer bakes; so, I will be making these and taking them to her for Christmas. Hugs!
These are so good! I make Snowball and Mexican Wedding cookies (they are very similar), and I always coat them in powdered sugar while hot, then again once they have cooled. I'm going to try your recipe soon, the holiday season is here! Thanks
I have an old recipe with these same ingredients that I just found and my old recipe says to chill the dough once mixed for 4 hours then shape into balls. 🤷🏼♀️And then bake.
I make these every year at Christmas! I roll mine in powered sugar while they are still warm, fresh out of the oven. Then when they cool I'll roll them a second time. Always yummy!! : )
I just love these cookies....they are SO good and yet so simple too...my kind of recipe! This recipe looks good too......so yummy....my favorite Christmas cookie which we have always called “snowballs”
I made these tonight and they turned out AMAZING! Had to add a teensy bit of extra water and 7 minutes more time because we live in the mountains. But, they came out perfect! Wish I could post pics. Thank you so much! I’ll be making these throughout the year. ❤️
I made these today and they’re delicious and easy! They don’t change color much on the top so check that the bottoms are golden brown to know if they’re done. Next time I’ll add a little salt to the dough 😋
These cookies are my all-time favorites. I make them sugar-free by using granulated Stevia and Confectioner's Stevia instead of sugar. I also add a single semi-sweet chocolate chip prior to the powdered stevia. Each cookie has a chocolate surprise! I have them with my morning cappuccino. Because they are "sugar free" they're a healthy habit!!! So delicious.
My mom always made these at Christmas and in July for my dad’s and my birthday, which were pretty close together. She passed away on June 13.......I’m gonna make some and surprise my dad with them. They are fantastic! Thanks for posting the video.
I wonder if these cookies will taste better if I substitute the water with the rum. 😂... thanks for putting together the video. The quantity in the recipe is just right.
i have a recipe that calls for 3 c of flour, 2 sticks of butter, 1/2 c granulated sugar, 1 cup nuts, 1 cup powdered sugar, 1 tbs vanilla extract. the dough is too dry and will not stick together to make balls. can i add more butter, or what? need help thanks
That's funny to hear that these cookies are Mexican wedding cookies, I'm more Mexican than tequila and I never saw any cookies like these in weddings 🤣🤣anyway these are my favorite ones 😍😋
Made these for the first time a few days ago. My goodness! CAN'T stop thinking about them! About to start making them now! Thank you! So very delicious and addictive! ; )
Your stove might not be at the right temperature? Not that you put it at the wrong temperature but sometimes, especially if the stove is older, it is not cooking at the temperature you set it for?
If anyone is wondering, I used unsalted butter and there were perfect. So I assume she used unsalted as well. Unsalted is typically for baking so yeah, there's your answer for anyone else coming across this video with that same question. Use unsalted.
Haha....in australia we say Pee-can. I had never heard Puh-cahn before til I started watching american you tube baking segments.... does sound pretty cool though.

I'm so sorry for your loss. I hope these can bring back some happy memories for your family.
Thank you. I'm sure they will. She would sometimes add red or green food coloring to the dough just for fun.
'Russian Tea Cookies', too!
Happy Thanksgiving!
Can I use confectioner sugar?
I wonder if these cookies will taste better if I substitute the water with the rum. 😂... thanks for putting together the video. The quantity in the recipe is just right.
Can I use walnuts instead of pecans

My mother would make these with pecans or sometimes with almonds, she called them polvorones.
Lionel Tijerina in the Dominican Republic 🇩🇴 we call it Polvorones too 😍
I meant baking powder
Thanks for the recipe
Just wanna ask, do we need to add baking powder?
Thanks
There is no baking powder in this recipe.

How about baking soda?
Baking soda is not used to make this type of cookie.
I tried the recipe as listed but after 18 min in the oven at 325 they were still doughy :( I wonder what I did wrong
Your stove might not be at the right temperature? Not that you put it at the wrong temperature but sometimes, especially if the stove is older, it is not cooking at the temperature you set it for?

Did you use unsalted butter? Thanks for sharing this recipe! I'm planning to make this for Christmas 😊
Thank you !!! I will be making this for x-mas💚🌲❤ Merry Christmas to you and everyone!!
Who ate all the pecan sandies?
It’s called pecan, peecan is the slop jar under grannie’s bed.😂
Her feet at 1:54 lmfao
*I’ve always heard: “TRUCK DRIVERS USE PEE•CANS”*
Or is it Russian tea cakes?
It isn't "PEE-can." It's "puh-CAHN."
Not that it matters but it depends on where you live it's just funny to say 😂...
@@bryguy7428 Ignorance

I almost always am!
@@Thestayathomechef Me too, tbh
Pa-con
All right who here is Mexican don't be lying tell the truth because I am.🇮🇹
It's Puh Cawn! From the Kickapoo word for nut. Puh-caw-nee.
So you're saying it wrong!
Glad you could get that off your chest.
It's a snow ball cookie
No shoes and painted toenails are the way to go when making these. 1:54
I bake as a hobby. Is the secret to these being barefoot? Just asking 😉😂
Haha that is the secret (: Give it a try! (Just don't drop anything on your feet)
