I used your recipe to inaugurate my first KitchenAid Stand mixer over the weekend! The cookies are delicious and light - not dense as some of the ones I’ve had at various bakeries - I’ve had many because it’s a favorite. Thank you for sharing this delectable recipe.
Absolutely love these…there are so many recipes for these called by other names but their recipes were never as delicious as these Mexican Wedding Cookies! Thank u

An easier way to powder them in powdered sugar at the end is to put the sugar in a brown paper bag and just throw them in maybe 5 at a time and move the bag around slowly. They come out perfectly covered without any excess ;)
Two sticks of salted butter Three-quarter cups of powdered sugar 2 teaspoons vanilla extract oven 375° One and three-quarter cup flour Chopticon’s One cup of pecans fine 1 3/4 cups of flour then mix all together everything together till forms though
Hello! Thanks so much for watching! I’m glad the video was helpful. You can grab the recipe on my website MarieSaba.com. Can’t wait to hear how you like them! Hugs, marie
Marie, I am new to your channel. I really enjoy the recipes that you share. You make cooking so simple and easy to understand. You are the best at explaining cooking terms. Thanks for all the great recipes.

I used to make these Mexican Wedding Cakes every year for Christmas for my family. Now it's just me and my fur baby so I don't bake much anymore but they really are good cookies ☺️
@@marieskitchen I love these cookies they are a bit time consuming to make but I always thought they were worth the effort. Hopefully you had a lovely holiday as well ❤️🩹
Hi Bonnie! Wow, thank so much! You’re wonderful! I appreciate you for watching and for taking time to leave such a kind note 🥰 Glad to be connected ❤️, Marie
Thank you for your special recipes that you willingly share with us. I love your fave utensil ideas as well. I'm glad I happened upon your channel. Love them
Another fabulous recipe that worked GREAT at high altitude. A lot of times dough like this is way to dry at higher altitude and it just falls apart. I didn't have to change a thing.
Thanks so much for all the details. My mother always made these, and my job was to gently roll them in the powdered sugar. Just one taste brings back the best memories of Christmas preparation. I am wondering if there are different bands of powdered sugar. I am looking for a taste of the past, and the Whole Foods band didn't taste quite right.
I made these today (12/22) for Christmas and I cannot believe how easy these are to make and how delicious they are. Your video states 1 and 3/4 cup of flour but the written states 2 cups of flour. Which is preferred? I used 2 cups but was wondering if you updated the recipe. I know these will now be my family's favorite (over chocolate chip, snickerdoodles and peanut butter blossoms). Also, what is the best way to store these for a few days? Thank you so much, Marie. Merry Christmas🎄🎄
Hi Joan! So glad to hear you enjoyed the cookies! You are correct to use the 2 cups flour from the written recipe. I must have mis-spoken on the video - oops! The best way to store the cookies in an air tight container on the countertop. Thanks so much for watching! Also, let me know if there’s something else you’d like to see on a video! I’m always looking for inspiration 😊 xo, Marie
Hi Elizabeth! Thanks for watching and for taking time to leave a note! Love to hear from viewers 🥰 Yes I think these cookies have many names in all different cultures! They’re so easy and delicious, I can see why everyone loves them 😊 Thanks again, marie

Another burn trick…run the burn IMMEDIATELY under ice cold water until your hand is numb/freezing cold. The burn won’t even appear, but you have to keep your hand under the COLD water for about 10 minutes at least depending on how bad the burn is.
How wonderful! I just made a batch tonight and everyone enjoyed them 🥰 Thanks for watching and happy birthday to your daughter! You can print the recipe on my site MarieSaba.com 👍🏻
I’m Mexican and I’ve made these for years along with my mother and I never knew they’re known as Mexican wedding cookies! We always called them butterball cookies 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Oh that’s too funny! These cookies or similar versions are actually popular in many cultures, so they’re known by other names, too ☺️ We can add “butterballs” to that list! 🥰 I love that you made them with your mom. So special to have that memory. Big hugs, marie
Thanks so much! You can definitely add chocolate chips (mini are best) but I’m not sure the dough would be quite right without the nuts. Let me double check the proportions and see if it could work. Back to you soon!
Hi again Sherry! Yes you should be able to sub in chocolate chips. I haven’t tried it so I’m not exactly sure how they will turn out, but I think they will be delicious! Everything else in the recipe stays the same. And I do recommend mini chocolate chips if you have them :)

Could almond flavoring or almond meal be used in place of chopped pecans and in what quantity? Several members of our family cannot tolerate chopped nuts. Thank you!
Hi! Yes, almond meal in place for the chopped pecan would be great. Use 1 cup almond meal in place of the 1 cup pecans. Hope that helps! Here’s the full recipe: mariesaba.com/recipes/mexican-wedding-cookies/
Hi! Yes, you can freeze the dough! Make the dough into balls and then freeze them (spaced apart and separating layers with wax paper so the balls don’t stick together). Thaw at room temp for an hour before baking. Let me know if you need anything else!

I will update to say that i kept going and i had to end up adding a little more flour/powdered sugar. They turned out real good. I think they would have been more moist if i didnt have to do that, but they were still really good. Im still confused on why it was really creamy and not dough like. 😕 if you have any thoughts let me know! Thanks!
