    This is one of the best instructional videos I've ever seen. It should be a ted talk, but that isn't giving it enough credit.

    Greatings, teacher
    Thank you for that video. I liked its pace and your energy. And of course your tips are completely relevant, mainly the M.I.E. part there. I've been learning portuguese for a couple of months now. And the subtitles really helped, since oral European portuguese is not easy to grasp. Keep up the Good work!

      How are you learning the language? Self-taught or taking a course? And yes, having subtitles is a lot of work, but really help to practice listening :)

      Como estás? I can completely relate with not being able to understand fast Portuguese... my issue is not PT but Turkish and the way I found to get better at it was to download a good interview and put it in Audacity and slow it down. Once I understood better what the native was saying I then speeded up and it felt way better. This change of speed can be wonderful to clear the ear. Additionally, it's important to learn the rhyme and melody of the language, Portuguese is very different from English in terms of where the stressed syllables are and this creates lot's of confusion when listening.
      I will continue to support students through 2022 and I would love to hear about your progress.
      Muito obrigada for your support! 🙂

      @@thelanguageunschool Hello! Self-teaching! The grammar and vocabulary parts are actually pretty easy for me, since I already speak spanish. But the oral speech is another business! But I know I'll get there... Some day. XD

    Porquê? Porque é que quero aprender português? Talvez um dia eu possa beijar a avó de alguém e é sempre bom pedir permissão, embora a minha experiência em Portugal seja que muitos beijos acontecem sem pedir muita permissão. Feliz Ano Novo, Jessica.

    Como é que estas? Tudo bem? Agora mesmo, dei conta que tens licenciatura em História da Arte. Nós somos designer/artistas, de arte plástica e cerâmica. Gostaríamos de ouvir mais sobre estes assuntos em Portugal - alguma vez poderias pensar nisso quando estiveres planejar programas?

    Já começou aprender turco? "Gözlükçülerimizdeydik"... entende? :-D Sou alemão e aprendi um pouco do turco há uns anos mas já esqueci quase tudo. É uma língua muito interessante mas muito estranho: existe o perfeito e o imperfeito mas não palavras como estar/ser ou ter/haver, por isso e possível diferenciar: "caguei/cagava nas minhas calças" mas não é possível diferenciar: "tive/tinha uma namorada" ou "era/fui grávida".
    Uma dica: o turco só tem uma pequena quantidade de palavras próprias, muitas palavras são do Árabe, da Parsa/Farsi e do Francês - quando encontra uma palavra que parece familiar, normalmente é, p.e.: "bisiklet" significa ou se acha. As palavras árabes do português são um pouco mais difícil de "encontrar" no turco p.e.: "azeitona"="zeytin" Fun fact: the português understood better what der Arabs were talkin about: you have the oilfruit [azeitona] and from that you make oil [azeite], but the turkish didn't get it right, they think you use the oilfruit [zeytin] to make oilfuitoil [zeytinyağı]

    • @PortugueseUnlocked
      @PortugueseUnlocked  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Olá Heiko! Tive que ir ver ao tradutor o que significava "Gözlükçülerimizdeydik", ainda estou no início e por isso estou a focar-me mais na parte fonética do que em expandir os meus conceitos gramaticais. Também acho o turco uma língua fascinante e desafiante. Porque não continuou a falar turco? A comunidade turca na Alemanha é bastante numerosa, por isso, podia encontrar com quem falar com mais facilidade.
