A VERY enjoyable and useful video. Your pear tree looks a lot like mine. It's the old dependable. Year after year loaded down. I have sold the pears, to one lady in particular for many years but I think she finally got burnt out. She was a massive pear canner. This year we're going to get busy ourselves with the thing again. SUPER thanks!!! Great job. We'll use your granny's recipe.

I love your Granny. Reminds me of my Grandma, from Malta Bend, Missouri. I don't know if you ever heard of a lepp cookie. It's kind of a molasses cookie with either walnuts or pecans. But that recipe died with my Grandma. And I've been missing it 30 years or more for that recipe.

Lebukuchen google that. That's the German cookie it was based on. And which turned into the lepp cookie

Look like Kieffer pears. My grandmother made these and now I do. Few people around me know any thing about Kieffer pears. They are so good.

I enjoyed watching and listening to you prepare your pear preserves. I remember being at the kitchen table talking to my grandmother as she did her cooking of the pears and canning them. But I remember her placing a slice of orange in each jar and making sure there were at least 3 cloves in each jar. I would always eat the slice of orange when we ate the pear preserves but of course we just threw the cloves away.have you hear of doing this? Also her pear preserves were a darker brown than yours. Did she maybe use brown sugar with hers? I can’t find a recipe for her pears or peach preserves. I do have her strawberry recipe. Thanx for the video.

That is extremely hard on the hands and wrists! You are right... peeling is not the fun part! Awesome video! That’s awesome on biscuits before the big duck hunt! I’m your newest sub! Tell ole Chris hi for me!

I am enjoying your videos. Canning salsa is my fave so far. Where in Texas are you? I'm from Tyler, but moved to Memphis, TN 16 years ago.

Loved hearing the pops! Looks so good! Do you have a recipe for watermelon jelly? Not the rind kind but just jelly? Tried several last year that just didn't work. Thanks!

My grandmother’s pears turn out a shiny brown. Your are lighter colored than hers. I know she would put a slice of an orange in each jar. I’m not sure they cooked with the sliced pears but in thinking it did. She also had about 5 cloves in each jars of preserves. Are you aware of people doing that? Glad you sliced your pear the size you did. Sometimes just one slice maybe two and the 2hole biscuit was covered. I see some that are small pieces and that’s not what I grew up on.
