Cool
Aight
bit expensive, idk
Give me free access and I'll pay if I become a successful gamedev like your promotional video says :)
Would do it if a bit cheaper :l
I like the idea of having completely independent *dev teams* make a game without communication
I think that's actually unfair in dome way but maybe it's just me
@tboimoment how can it be unfair when it's not a competition?
@@JollySpider again it's my opinion but they making game without communicating with eachother so it would be not very fair at point when they
Technically each dev is a studio, so that's already the case 😂
@@tboimomentare you having a stroke?
Personally, I’m perfectly fine with flow studio being considered one dev like last time. 😅 In fact, I’d prefer it.
Seconded !
and third!
In this the three devs from flow studio counted as three different devs
oh wait I misunderstood your comment 😂😂
PETITION TO MAKE THEM ONE DEV
Yes it allows the game to be more polished
I love how the only concrete thing the first dev added was ragdoll physics, which the second dev instantly removed because the movements were not "precise enought"
Yeah the second dev didn’t understand the concept. He pretty much threw everything the first dev did out of the window, except for the character model
@@prenomnom2253 Well that's partially true, he did not change the character model, but he modifyed it from a potato to a frog
Yeah, was really looking forward to the active ragdoll game too. Zaba turned it into just another boring platformer instead
@@glenbaker8593 well the only thing the first dev did for the ragdoll game was add the ragdoll and then add some random stuff in hope that the next dev would come up with the actual gameplay, so it's not surprising the ragdoll got dropped
that's what it's like making games, except you yourself are both the first dev and the second dev lol
I had an absolute blast working on this! Thank goodness the other devs were able to salvage my starting game.
My boy
I love the way you started the project! Ragdoll Platform was a great ideia, if the ragdoll was better used the game would be way better! Pretty sad it wasn't in the final game.
i like your jokes
@@BannyTheMan Thanks mate, I'm actually working on a video right now. I've been busy with college so I have a whole bunch of games I never made a video for. So I'll definitely start uploading again.
make a tutorial on your ragdoll plz
Dev 1: so basically I wanted to make a potato ragdoll
Dev 2: i turned the potato into a frog. Also I removed the ragdoll physics entirely
Sadly that’s what happens when you remove communication. If dev 1 told that sentence to dev 2 it certainly would have changed his actions.
we need a bigger climax in the end of these videos! devs talking to each other about the experience and their thoughts, more gameplay and stuff. now it falls a little flat. otherwise this is a fantastic concept that I've loved to see develop in the past months! :)
Agreed, would love that! And since they don't like longer video, they can simply add those tidbits in a second channel!
Yea I always want more game play
Wish they had time to add the boss
Was a pleasure to be a part of this! I think Zaba carried this one 💪
As a programmer I really like the vibe of your studio, feels like home
Blooprint
Thanks team! You guys did great, loved seeing the behind the scenes of your game studio
Hope to see more of your studio in these, though I hope that next time they don't put you as separate devs. It kinda breaks the "no communicating" aspect. You all communicated so it's more, "First four don't communicate, last three do."
@@mhr_codeIt's like corridor crew but gamedev edition
I love having a studio working on it! It makes it possible to have a much more polished experience
Kinda ruins it if the studio only affect the end result. The whole point is multiple devs with no communication and here comes a studio with multiple devs who all communicate.
I think you could really make a cool segment at the end and getting the devs together to tak about how they felt when they got it what they liked etc
it's probably difficult getting them all together at the same time, I'm pretty sure many of them live in different time zones. It would make the ending feel complete
@@ZeroTsardiscord
@@WhyAreYouReplingToMe I think I forgot to update my Discord for it to transcend the time zones... 🤔
@@WhyAreYouReplingToMe 🤡
Blackthorn is allergic to making his videos longer than 15 minutes, so I think that bit at the end actually IS supposed to be their thoughts on the games. xD
To be honest Flow Studio being the last or middle dev to get the game honestly feels best. When they're the last dev they get the chance to see the direction the game took and polish everything up with a full man team. When they're in the middle they can provide some good infrastructure for every other dev to build off of without too much guess work. My vote is keep them working as a team because these games work out awesome with the extra man power for polishing.
it is not just man power, it is also the communication. It is funny that in a challenge based around not communicating shows how powerful a core team is.
@@sarowie I mean in the last video they were great but here they barely improved anything all they did was add a terrible looking well and rising water.
I love how all the Devs did their own thing and tried their best with their part
We need 15 Developers to make a game without communication
20
69
That's EA
@@pownder ?
Hope everyone is doing good.Sending support and hearts! ❤️❤️❤️ Stay safe
This game would've been so much more complete if he had two move devs working on it at the end instead of counting the team as the last 3 people
Did they delete 3bomb's sound effects?? those were amazing! Also not sure if a well (or just the rocks they used in the well) is the best idea for a slinging mechanic, I kind of liked the open space with the gates. But can't be too critical, end result was freaking amazing for the amount of time they had
Yeah I don't get it. Sounded great with the frog sound effects. I hope it wasn't an ego thing.
This was awesome to work on! I had a ton of fun doing my part. Good job to every dev, great to have a final game in the end :D
You're a gigachad for using Leaderboard Creator 😎
@@danqzq your leaderboard plugin is FIRE! I'll be adding leaderboards to everything now, doing god's work dude
żaba
i would love to see a project where each dev do a specific part of the game like one works on the gameplay and another on audio ,art, world building, characters,UI etc and all of em works independently and the only thing they all know is the basic idea of the game
As fun as Flow studio devs are, being part of this. It does make the whole no communication goal of the challenge fall apart in the end. It was fun to see them transform a great idea into something more fully fletched.
*First dev*: I really hope this doesn’t just turn into a platformer game…
*Second dev*: …So I’m going to be making a platformer game
First Dev: I really want active ragdoll!
Second dev: so I'm gonna remove active ragdoll.
Me: xD kinda just, fucked over the first Dev.
First dev did a terrible job. He didn't lay a good foundation of a game, just some ragdoll model.
@@red3y3z1well, i mean he made the ragdoll pysics, hoping the other dev would work around that and add things, i dont think its a "bad Foundation" its just your interpretation of a Foundation for a game is widely different than what the first dev did,
@@ApinofArc first dev had a terrible idea, second dev improved on it by trashing that idea
Felt like flow studio completely reworked the game and made it their own instead of bits from everyone
They really changed the whole vibe of the game. And besides that they even deleted 3Bombs sound effects :/
@@Vivi-wi4ef exactly
@@Vivi-wi4efthat was the part that made me the most upset (for lack of a better word) 😭😭 like dude what?? it felt really weird to me for them to just completely remove them- especially when they were so integral to the atmosphere-
like i know it's not that deep but huhh??
lol Flow Studio had a communication meeting so much for without communicating still gave me a good laugh
@twintailfox2692 Hope you’re doing good.Sending support and hearts! ❤️❤️❤️ Stay safe
they're considered as 1 developper, so i guess it's technicaly ok ^^
@@JaguarPanda Not this time, they were listed as Dev 5,6 and 7
@@JaguarPanda They took all 3 final spots.
Well i cant say the whole well idea was very convincing.. i wouldve much prefered a 'collect flower and heal pond' thing over a 'the floor is lava and you will die'
Seeing the dichotomy between solo devs and the studio is super interesting. Makes you appreciate working as a cohesive team and how much progress can be made.
lol it really showed how even one dev alone can make better improvements than a whole studio
This time didn’t like how flow studio just made the grappling mechanic buggy and just changed the new game, they need to go in like first or seconds to give a stable base and make the others devs work around, I also think someone debugging and making the code easier to understand is needed
I feel like the well ruined it a little bit, not because it doesn't look fun but just with how different the game immediately look with such a change.
“What happens when 7 developers make a game without communicating” *shows two of the four devs that communicated*
Point of video: No communication between devs
End of video: The last three devs brainstorm and overhaul everything 😅
Thank you! There are too many positive comments about this. They are losing the point...
I really like Flow Studio being here, but I feel like the members should all work without communication with each other
that'd make things even more chaotic and fun
Not going to lie - I think the dev team actually did the worst in regards to continuing the style/feel of the game 😂
Yes!!!! It was so pretty and I loved the putside world feel buy then it became so dark. It was fine before. Speed shouldn't be a part of a whole game. Take your time. Make new level ls for the game not making a big cylinder with acid.
they absolutely killed the game vibe
I liked the water rising aspect, but I much prefer the way this game looked before too, I'm sorry 🙈
hell no, freug was ass.
My sadness was that I thought the well was going to encompass the entire area, but then they showed it from outside and they had just isolated a huge chunk of it away.
Just finishes making a serene landscape, next guy proceeds to fill it with radioactive sludge barrels😂
just because flow studio can communicate, they should be counted as one dev. definitely keep them in for other projects though!
I sort of loved that nobody even touched the controls or camera, or tried to smooth the gameplay, they all went straight for surface polish :D :D :D
I love the idea of the second or third “developer” being a team to really solidify the game direction!
Having the first and last devs being individual adds the necessary spice in my opinion though!!
Love this series and love flow but I think it’s definitely the play to count them as 1 dev. Especially since they communicate 😂
Keep up the great work!
Yeah the title is literally wrong the way they had this done lmao
I wanna see an episode where every dev has a whole day to work on the game
Good job to all the devs that took part of this
Not my favorite end result so far. Felt like everyone scrapped half the game they got.
Man I love how this turned out. It was like only up but with frogs, you chould tell that it needed some bunch of polish here and there but for the limited amount of time it turned out amazing!
last devs took all of the soul out
the chemicals in the water are turning the freakin frogs gay!!
I think it would be interesting to make an additive version of this
So if a dev makes something significant, for example the active ragdoll, the next dev cannot CHANGE that mechanic, but instead must add to it and work with the mechanic
I think it would create some interesting games since the direction is set pretty much from the first dev
And it would give the games a lot more polish as they’re working to build instead of change
Yeah I second this, that's the one thing most of these types of videos do that annoy me.
Usually there's at least one person who takes the game and completely changes everything, which then the next person has to clean up that mess instead of improving the game with their own ideas.
In this video that didn't happen which surprised me, but the original direction this game could have taken was immediately removed once the active ragdoll physics were taken out.
Dev 1: makes game about ragdoll physics
Dev 2:
*Gets rid of ragdoll physics*
Yeah but bro tried to make a parkour active rag doll game that shut is impossible with the amount of time they have lol
I love the game and I think Flow Studio does a fantastic job, but I also feel that having them in it kind of removes the spirit of the challenge. It was cool the first time since it was a game full of mini games and they kinda all did their own thing, but this time it was like the first 4 devs couldn't communicate but the last 3 could and like I said, it feels like it removes the point of the challenge. But nonetheless, amazing job and the game looks very fun!
I still feel like a full dev team communicating is breaking the concept of this challenge. I like them and their work, but it feel unfare to the others
the only problem is that the dev studio clearly communicated with eachother, which broke the rule of the video
Can't wait for 700 devs make a game without communicating!
5:40 if anyone doesn't know what game he's talking about, it's Only Up, a Foddyian platformer like Getting Over It where you have to make it to the top and there are no checkpoints. Hope this helps :)
It would be so cool if Luke Muscat (he helped making Fruit Ninja) would be one of the devs! And as always, great Video!
I’ll ask him next time I see him
Damn, I was really excited for something different with the ragdolling and NON platforming
The last team was honestly pretty disrespectful. They took away the cute art the previous person had made and just...they just erased it all? That's not cool.
I really like this videos but I feel like there should be an agreement to not just delete something major. Sometimes one of the devs entire work just gets deleted because the next dev felt like it
Unfortunately, even with a discount, the course costs months of wages in my country. Maybe in the future.
This was so cool! FlowStudio coming in clutch at the end there was so awesome, great work to all the devs.
i like how after the frog character was made, the frog dev worked on the game
“Guide me brother. For frog nation!” The beginning of an epic story.
Wohoo, more flow studio, love to see them work together and see them achieve large amount of progress with a different take on many things.
These are honestly incredible videos! :D I love the twist with Flow Studio again, it's great. I'm sure seeing a whole team collaborate and work together helps developers/other teams in seeing their workflow, and it's motivating \o/ Keep up the amazing work!
You should make a centipede game
Yes
@Blackthornprod it would be amazing if there was a longer segment at the end where we get more play through footage from each of the Devs with their commentary on the game from each person's perspective.
It would be really interesting to see where they saw the game going Vs what it turned out as. Maybe also a summary from you guys to see what you were expecting.
I love seeing the process and changes made but it would also be great to hear more from each dwv at the end.
Thanks for the great videos!
I don't mean this as a slight at all to the team as they are lovely people and do good work, but having a team work is kind of unfair to the devs who work alone, and goes against the point of not communicating.
The team has a much bigger impact on the final product, way more than the others could, because they pool their effort towards to one cohesive vision. There's no disconnect between the team of devs, no reinterpretations of each other's ideas because they couldn't communicate and had to work one after the other.
Like they are making the final product look very polished and cohesive, but it also takes away a lot of magic. If they had the first turn in a challenge, the game would be pretty much set in stone after they're done unless they intentionally left it rough.
Idk, I would either let the other devs form their own teams to increase their impact on the project, or have the team take individual turns at different times, but I understand that might not be half as fun for the team.
Yo thanks for letting me work on this it was a blast!
No centipede, One Morbillion out of -10
I absolutely LOVE these videos. Keep up the great work!
I love how it looked like that old frog game you play on web browser in school, the good old days
Why each there is a cool and fun mechanic, it gets deleted
this quickly went from karlson to only up
I feel like Flow Studio should be classified as 1 developer. Honestly very disappointed at the removal of the active ragdoll
first time i have seen the "wow" meme in a video unironically in a decade
I feel like having a team adding polish kind of diminishes the work the solo devs put in
Dude, the dev who got arm surgery and still worked on this game is epic. Same for the one who got minor oral surgery, a crazy amount of dedication to this project ❤
Yeah sure that all happened in a few hours plus they got pizza
You should do this challenge with a story-based game, it would be much more interesting to see how each person continues the story
I’d love to see like 3 dev teams do this so one team passes it to the next
Great showing from all devs
Absolutely loved the vlog approach from flow studio 🎉
Well the vibrant art style took a hit in the end with flickering shadows and overall darker tone. But the concept was good.
Funny that there literally wasn’t a game until the very end
Blackthornpod: Without communicating .
Last three devs: NO
Love it! I love frogs and wow it's awesome to see you guys make this! Honestly you guys should refine it and publish it, cause I'd play it!
I absolutely love this series. Please keep em coming!
This was fun to watch and very refreshing to see creative people just go for the stuff in their head... thank you for sharing this video :)
I'm a big fan of 3bomb. Would love to see more of him
Loving all devs and especially the flow studio addition, so cool
Love the vids, i think this might be a fun idea, to see maybe once like devs with communication. So like after dev 1 is done they get 5min or something to communicate their vision to dev 2 and than it repeats with dev 2 to dev 3 like telephone game ^^
Love the content and all the devs joining ^^
LOVED the studio coming back. They're a fantastic addition
This would be awesome if one day it grows to the level of 5 teams of developers or even 5 AA studios
Best game dev out there on TH-cam keep up the good work
Its really impressive how it started a bit bad and ended really good ❤
Flow Studio's Approach and Work was freakin' Great!
Love them
Make them "make a game in their own studio only but in different rooms~ WIthout communicating"
IT WOULD BE A GREAT ONE!
So funny that I just got the 9 dev noot shooter randomly recommended to me, watched it all, and then checked the channel and this was uploaded 5 minutes ago.
I love the frog character design, it looks perfectly goofy 🐸
Love watching 10 minutes of development, just for the dev team to make their own game.
Looks epic! Great job!
Amazing how good a game can be even if it looks kind of silly, I love it
Think there needs to be some constrictions on what follow-up devs can do. I really liked the active ragdoll idea but that was scrapped. Would be cool if features can only be added and not removed.
my favorite series in youtube currently
Last devs really ruined it by changing the map breaking the mechanics and removing the frog sounds
this is an amazing series. i love it :D
That turned out better than the beginning seemed to be headed
These videos are awesome, binged through a ton of them. Maybe it would be cool to give more time to everyones reaction to the final product, I feel like it would be awesome to see more of that from all the creators.
not sure if its fair that the last guys had a professional motivator on there team but i guess its all for fun anyway.
Haha, this is a great concept. Would love to do something like this eventually.
Yo man i really love the vids, I just bought the gamedeveocket course im excited to learn about everything! Keep up the great videos my man!
