The wacky noises are a bit annoying but other than that it’s just because it’s different than what we’re used to and immediate reactions are to dislike it. The UI itself really isn’t the worst but those sound effects 😂
I remember when first seeing colonist and thinking Catan universe looked better. I’m not sure about twosheep though, colonist just looks really clean.
The end of that game (starting at 20:15) really felt like a masterclass in board assessment and intuitive decision making, recognizing you probably aren't winning unless you pull off a double play before orange can get pacing on knights. I don't think many players make the decision to port 3 brick for 1 wheat to pop a dev. I certainly wouldn't be confident enough to snap that port off like you did. My initial instinct was to go for the instant gratification of getting ahead on a win condition by building 4 roads, which would have been a mistake. You seemingly made that calculation in an instant, and went all in on army first with the understanding that road isn't a huge issue for you as long as 9s/10s/5s roll. Interesting one!
I’m glad you noticed that sequence. Agreed that most players would just drop roads but seeing the dev situation, going for army with the back door road steal was absolutely the fastest path to victory. At this point, it’s all about running on intuition and feel but it took many games to get there!

13:20 don’t think I’d have been able to resist the urge to go 5 2 with the two roads in hand then settle brick port next to fight devs. With no knights played that seems like a good path, but that totally misses the chance at the double play by instead going to the 6 11 12 which you did. Pivotal moment imo. You just see the board differently

To kind of respond to your point where you said when you get in voice chat is where your game gets more effective and enjoyable for you. I’m not sure if any other viewers feel the same but voice chat honestly makes me skip Catan videos normally. Even if I enjoy your play or the skill in the voice chat there’s too many negatives with other players mentalities or people being salty that ruin the viewer enjoyment for me personally. That’s just my opinion though

What about the fact, that the dices where on your side this time? You were the only one doubling on 9s while it rolled heavily this game. Also the 10s rolled 5 times more then the 4 and 5s also didnt let you down. I mean your starting settlements had no connection to a 6 or an 8.
But great entertainment anyway! :)
It’s all about probable production. 5910 is an 11 pip spot. That’s the same expected production as a 693 and more than 843, but doesn’t have 6/8. Of course good dice should be acknowledged but that shouldn’t discount skill either. Example was when I aggro’ed the knight to steal a brick which allowed me to dev for army. Those little moments get missed by many players.
