The issue of having to let key go all the way back up before striking it again has already been resolved. I think the person who resolved the issue was a Japanese. So i bet many of the newer Yamaha upright piano no longer have this issue

Is there a specific reason as to the placement of each tuning pin per piano key string? Are they placed in their different spots just so that each grouping of strings fits within the piano key's width or are there varying lengths within one piano key's strings?

@@thepianotechnicianacademy9560 hello i have an upright piano made by zimmerman. The problem i have is, that one note, to be specific, on one of my f-sharps the hammer doesnt fully retract, so after playing the note a few times it goes mute, i wanted to know if i myself can fix it (having no experience) of if it can only be fixed by someone with experience

1:39 that's interesting... with more complicated design, I wonder if we can mimic that behavior as on a grand... and such as the Bechstein A124 upright (the Silent mode)... it is around $38,000 and it sounded like a grand piano... but I wonder if it can repeat notes as fast as a grand piano

Yes we could. A Japanese came up with a new design to solve the issue. So many of the newer yamaha upright piano mimic a grand piano key mechanism almost exactly

I have not played my piano in 30 years, the other day I pressed a few keys, and they went down but never came back up! Any key I press stays down. What's happened?
