I'm 76 now...this was the first real nice song I learned on my guitar, back in the day. It is now my wife's favorite that I play for her. Life has finally gotten sweet, satisfaction and gratitude has been the path for me.

Every time I hear this song, it always brought me to tears. As someone who grew up in listening "old but gold" music, the message of PPM's songs strike right through the heart. Thanks that I still have the opportunity to listen their songs up until now.

Ahh my daddy's favorite group..He'll be 90 in a few days and I always play these songs for him..He's been sad since my mama left us this past September..Music has been his past time..And since I been playing this music for him I now am a fan as well..I could only imagine living in theese much simpler times..

Peter, Paul, and Mary played music that was a big part of my life and entertainment.
Love their music.
When Mary died, I moped around for a whole week. It just seemed like such a loss. I had planned to see them in person but they had to cancel because she was just too weak. It broke my heart as it would have been the first time to see them live.
Peter and Paul were born in 1937 and 38 don't remember which is oldest. Unless I croak first, I supposed I'll have the major blues when they leave us, sigh. I was born in 1946 so they are at least eight years older. Only time will tell.

Back in 1963 after hearing this song I walked into Sam the Record man on Yonge Street looking for an album of the guy that wrote it. The rest is History !!

Yup, thats just like mine, but I like to use a tad more msg than your recipe calls for. Helps bring out the flavor. Also I really like the joke about mao tse dong, kim il sung and chang kai chek walking into a bar, Good one.
