Do those private company guys look into our previous work profile and if someone has a non-core type of job(like IOCL marketing) do they still offer a job in core sector?

If they are not in current sem then prepare for the one that are currently in your sem , dont try to finish everything. Be relaxed. CGPA and marks are not that imp as such but yes some criteria is there in some PSU or pvt companies for placement.
Difference between psu and private company. Is psu is a government company like railways.or both are same ???? it is a big doubt of many other student.please make a videos.

HARIOM PATHAK there is no particular way bro. But yes study conceptually, dont just mug up things. And make ur study a bit interesting. Cover full gate syllabus no need for extra if only gate is your motive

Did my Mech Engg in 2015 and gave gate but didnt clear, I did job in Suzlon Energy, left the job in 2017 and the teaching to Engineering and IIT JEE students in private coaching to earn something, and also preparing for Gate 2019, My interest is in fluid and thermo. I want to do something technical in this field, I googled it but not get any satisfactory answer, so please guide me that what are the different fields I can choose? Like which college is best, what will be the ranking required? Also I have a strong interest in computer programming my friends do suggest me to come in computer field, but I want to learn that on my personal basis. sir first of all thanks a lot for guiding us....sir as you have stated "you need to decide, which kind of work do you want to get (managerial or field) ".....so if a person has good acceptable marks in gate then how should he plan to get a job whether in managerial or field work, means what additional things (skill) required to make it.
How did you think that joining a private would boost the tech development FOR Indian Govt, since childhood, our motherland gives us so much to lead a comfortable life, people around us think ABOUT us, choose a random Indian and there is more chance s/he will help you rather than make loss, and you want to join a private and make to profit to someone who earns more because of you and gives you a little fraction of that profit saying that it is your salary, he pressurises you constantly for his monetary benefits and you want to join his bloody company. Please dont go for private company, our motherland deserves us and our intelligence in every possible way, try to develop it instead getting lost in the benefits that you get from a private company like settling in USA and all other benefits. This comment was definetely not to hurt your feelings but just an opinion like from your younger brother. Dude Baad mai seniority bhi koi cheez hoti hai ki private se PSU mai switch kabhi bhi kar rahe ho. PSU is most beneficial if you go in it at a young age as the promotions are mostly based on experience.

be regular, study from standard textbooks, be aware of the questions asked in GATE in previous years, see the syllabus. And be confident. its not that tough at all.

How did you think that joining a private would boost the tech development FOR Indian Govt, since childhood, our motherland gives us so much to lead a comfortable life, people around us think ABOUT us, choose a random Indian and there is more chance s/he will help you rather than make loss, and you want to join a private and make to profit to someone who earns more because of you and gives you a little fraction of that profit saying that it is your salary, he pressurises you constantly for his monetary benefits and you want to join his bloody company. Please dont go for private company, our motherland deserves us and our intelligence in every possible way, try to develop it instead getting lost in the benefits that you get from a private company like settling in USA and all other benefits. This comment was definetely not to hurt your feelings but just an opinion like from your younger brother. Dude Baad mai seniority bhi koi cheez hoti hai ki private se PSU mai switch kabhi bhi kar rahe ho. PSU is most beneficial if you go in it at a young age as the promotions are mostly based on experience.
