justin rapley Yes, I did. The models are intentionally godawful to add to the delicious slavic flavor, but some things are (or were) unintentional bugs like the shitty texture tiling and only being able to pick up ammo with the AK out. I've fixed the former but the latter and a bunch of other things still need to be fixed. I'm trying to get a solid gameplay base at least so playing it doesn't feel awful, but I still want the models and environments to still reek of piss.

Fun fact of the day, at 7:38 he talks to a guy that says "I wish I was at home watching Tarkovsky". Andrei Tarkovsky is the director of the movie "Stalker", which the video game series is (loosely) based on, and is the movie adaptation of a book called "Roadside Picnic".
Necromancer Bernard I wouldn't say the game is based on the movie, that would make for a very, very weird game. Much like the one we have here, actually.

As someone who has played all S.T.A.L.K.E.R. games, read roadside picnic, and seen the Stalker movie, the Stalker movie is a creative adaptation of Roadside Picnic, while S.T.A.L.K.E.R. is extremely faithful to Roadside picnic. Maybe a few Slavcore visual perspectives were adapted into the game, but it got everything else from the book. The only difference in the game and book storylines is location, characters, and the reason for the Zone's existence (though it is never confirmed in Roadside). I would definitely recommend Roadside Picnic, it's a short, good read, and should be freely available online.
Even though this was supposed to be a joke game, the atmosphere in it is actually pretty intense ;;o-o I wouldn't mind someone making a slice of life game about living in a run down slavic country...

Slavic countries are all shit countries, accept it already.
So, here's something interesting: At 4:08, that guy says "Bodka" In Russian "B" makes a "V" sound, meaning he said "vodka". B, O, K and A would also sound the same in Russian. However, "D" is not a Russian letter. So this game is partially in English, and B sometimes makes its Russian sound. This means the main character's name, "Blin", would sound like "Vlin", short for "Vlinny". You are playing as Vlinny. Actually, now that I think about it, all the people in this game look very alien, and all look exactly the same. Possibly, more developed Jahns. Interesting...
Also, as a sidenote, the Wikipedia page for the Russian alphabet use "vine" as an example for what sound "B" makes.

In cursive, the Russian D looks exactly like the Latin one.

Also, as someone who is part-Slav, I can confirm that the models are accurate, aside from the fact that they arent squatting.
Up there as one of my most nostalgic and loved Vin streams.

This music is from Pathologic. I know this comment will probably not get read ever, but I'd suggest playing that game if you're into atmospheric dread and storytelling.

As a Russian, I can tell it's mostly accurate. Almost everything outside Moscow and S-Petersburg is this.
I just learned today, over a year after first seeing this, that I've been good friends with the person who is still developing Slav Simulator for about 5 years now.

Fun fact, it's more than probable that the 'pink dildos' are meant to represent Kolbasa, AKA 'doctors sausage', which is an extremely pointed reference to the USSR's time of ruling, when it was developed by the government and beloved as a luxury food. It's still around today.
