I still think the game is rather impressive for being written in the old Game Maker - an engine definitely NOT designed for 3D games.
...which is why the game is sooo fantastic.
Considering how much worse Game Maker games could be, this isn't bad.
virtualfx Crime life 3 is actually very decent compared to this one. same engine too.
+TEK Yeah, I remember playing this when GM7 was out and making a 3D game was nothing short of magic. Gamemaker Studio is thankfully soooo much better.

I actually really liked this game some years ago when I used to fuck around with Game Maker. I always thought "HOLY FUCKING SHIT THESE GWAPHIX".
For what it's worth, props to whoever made this for making a 3D game with a 2D-centric engine.

Müsta Klaki Wouldn't you do the same if it made you filthy rich? Look at it this way. It lets him make other games like The Desolate Hope without having to worry about his financial situation.
Valdetiosi Furry fandom is a bit of a stretch, It seems to me it applies to anyone below the age of twelve or with that many brain cells.
+Müsta Klaki this is different, Five Nights at Freddy's is all pre-rendered, this is not. That is why this game is more impressive.
Valdetiosi Pandering to the furry fandom is horrible, but at least he stopped pandering to the Jeebus Chroist fandom, which is much much much worse. He used to make these fucked up crazy bible games.
That player character looks like if you skinned Johnny Depp and re-molded him over a garbage can.

I have a feeling that the building glitches were from dev not programming the game to delete certain elements from it.
Like that forklift and car pileup Vinny creates at the start of the game was still there for a long time when he passed by it.
That's not a good thing if you want to keep a game from crashing.

19:48 The safehouse garage was copied right from San Andreas.Original copies of the game did have a bush in the garage due to a coding error, so the fact that that transferred over to here is incredible (or the creator just did it on purpose)

For early Game Marker (I believe this was 6.0?) Crimelife 2 was quite impressive. I remember it being quite popular.

Body Harvest was also developed by Rockstar. Originally it was supposed to be some sort of bug/alien RPG game under the supervision of Nintendo (as the N64 didn't have enough RPGs to win the Japanese market), but it took too long to make, so it ended up being canned. Glad to see Body Harvest did survive, and it's still a ambitious title to this day. Very much the prototype of GTA III- probably more fun than that game, in retrospect.

4:23 oh my fuck I know that exact model they used for that car. It's a free Kia Rio model you can get online that I used once for placeholders on a city map in made in Blender. I replaced them with original models later tho.
