J'adore cette chanson dire que les années 80/90 je m'habiller comme Robert Smith maintenant arrivé à 56 ans j'écoute toujours et j'apprécie the Cure....❤❤
I totally agree.... Sometimes I've got to stop what I'm doing and just listen to this TH-cam video . Smith's unique voice works beautifully in this arrangement .
the year is 1988, fall is here and winter is coming on, and i am moving into a barren dormitory for freshmen in a small college in north carolina. i seem to be the only student around as i unpack, i can hear no music or chatter. of course i dont know anyone yet. i finish unpacking and set up my stereo and put in a cassette and play a song that will always forever make me think of that exact time. and what is more, this weather today in 2013 is the exact same weather of my dorm room on that day.
This band holds the same rank as the Beatles and Zeppelin for their ability to write songs and albums that were all so different yet so uniquely them. The went so many directions and stayed The Cure the whole time. True artists and legends!
Say goodbye on a night like this If it's the last thing we ever do You never looked as lost as this Sometimes it doesn't even look like you It goes dark It goes darker, still Please stay But I watch you like I'm made of stone As you walk away I'm coming to find you, if it takes me all night A witch hunt for another girl For always and ever is always for you Your trust The most gorgeously stupid thing I ever cut in the world Say hello on a day like today Say it everytime you move The way that you look at me now Makes me wish I was you It goes deep It goes deeper, still This touch And the smile and the shake of your head I’m coming to find you, if it takes me all night Can’t stand here like this anymore For always and ever is always for you I want it to be perfect, like before Oh ho ho, I want to change it all Oh ho ho, I want one
i remember being an angsty kid and walking around in the snow with this song playing in my ears... and i still love it. the live version on 'show' is great as well...
I watched Robert sing this last night in Houston Texas truly a magical night I've never cried so much in my entire life with over 7 encores and dancing screaming singing my heart out only 17 years old in a room full of adults man of them already already attended cure concerts but last night wast my first
Same! I went to the Dallas show, I swear I was the only 18 year old fan there. I was hysterical, screaming and laughing and crying half the night. lol Best night ever, I didn't want it to end!
Wow! This sax ! This solo! You can’t imagine what kind of sensation I feel inside me! This song is a masterpiece still today after about four decades it came out! 80’s was truly an magical and unbelievable period! Robert Smith a great songwriter and a sublime voice! ✌️👍🙏🙏🙏
Norma Jean Clark I think I played "What difference does it make" from The Smiths and "A Forest" from The Cure with my band way before you were born :) Personally I think Robert Smith and Johnny Marr were the most inspiring guitar players for me :D
Robert Smith, para mi es un cantante de una categoría mayor, es un Genio de la música, cada vez que escucho todas sus canciones y en especial ésta me siento extraordinariamente muy feliz y con una gran inspiración.... GRANDE POR SIEMPRE THE CURE.
That chiming, chorus-effected guitar tone is one of the most beautiful sounds that i have heard in 38 years of being a music listener whose tastes are primarily in the realm of metal.
I woke in the middle of the night while watching the MTV Classic channel and hearing this video was on. The dream I remember having was that I was walking out of a high school after surviving an apocalypse and it seemed similar like it was at the end of a movie just before the credits role. Sounds weird and I'm not sure what it meant but still a great song!
Please come to America soon. Somewhere near Florida! It has been my dream for over 10 years to see them live. My life will never be complete until I see them live. ♡♡♡
The cure are still going strong today, which is a lot more than can be said of most bands started in the late 1970`s. Great band, superb track, long live the cure.
me too..and why ? Because this Music is absolutely great an timeless. I can hear it until i die, and never get rid of it...that´s the difference to nowadays Music
I'm 18 and I've been loving The Cure since I was -- Oh wait.. No? Alright then! These guys are amazing and every single song is perfect. Their way to make sad music so yet beautiful and happy amazes me every single time.
One day I will get the first part of this song tattooed on me it already haunts me enough as it I’ll never forget this song as it constantly reminds me of a deep dark past but loving relationship.
I absolutely love Robert...everything is so completley him....and it was the 80's.....gotta love the 80's....if you didnt exist in that time, you could never begin to understand...Robert is his own from the spiked out tips of his hair to his toes...love you Robert!!!
For the last 35 years the Cure have been the soundtrack of my life, thru the good and the bad. This July I'll get to see them live - for the first f*&^ing time! Seriously don't know how I'll react when (if) they play this amazing song...
How was it? I was always a huge fan. The first band I fell in love with. I finally got to see them them in the city I was living in a free concert. Hosted by MTV. I lied at work and rang in sick to go and was worried the whole time a camera would catch me and a student would see me on the recording. Lol
I want it to be perfect like before! I just love this song, I cried for a week 'cause I couldn't go to The Cure's concert here at Brazil. They're just my favorite band. ):
Just the saxophone alone, in the middle, is utterly perfect, this song (with a forest) is Robert Smith / the cure personified - im back in college, its 1985 and everything is possible - pure fucking magic
I remember my Uncle who lives in Los Angeles took me to a Dodgers game against the SF Giants and L.A. won it with a Matt Kemp walk off RBI double in the 13th inning and it was very late at night, as we are heading home my uncle had this song on in his convertible with the roof down on a hot summer night driving on the highway and I felt the humid air blow on my face, I said to myself this will be a fun awesome night I will never forget and I’ve been hooked on this song since then.
I have to say, that's another thing that made the Cure emerge from the dark wave bands in the 80s. They had the skill to introduce various arrangements and instruments still keeping their own unmistakeable personal touch.
I can listen to this song over and over...there's just something about their music...Robert Smith was one of the best songwriters ever in my opinion
Is still songwriter
Absolutely
J'adore cette chanson dire que les années 80/90 je m'habiller comme Robert Smith maintenant arrivé à 56 ans j'écoute toujours et j'apprécie the Cure....❤❤
Yep cause he's a true manic depressive
So many people feel the same
To be a cure fan is like becoming a member of a secret society
in an exclusive dream
❤
The Cure is one of the best bands of all time.. No question.
You bet your ass they are
the best next to queen
HELLO DAPPA I FROM BRASIL YES TRUE
The best avec pink floyd
Sure is💎
No words could ever describe the beauty of this song.
Benedetto Bruno agreed
yep
I totally agree.... Sometimes I've got to stop what I'm doing and just listen to this TH-cam video . Smith's unique voice works beautifully in this arrangement .
PERFECTO BENEDETO !!!! HUGS FROM BRAZIL !!!!!!
Timeless, all time favorite

worldstallestdrummer love this comment... Feel the same in Italy. Music is the best thing in my fucking life.
worldstallestdrummer, that's cool bro
Wow! This was almost my exact same situation only I was in Minnesota. Amazing how much alike we are all.😊
Feels the same in Japan, driving among dry rice paddies with crimson foliage warming up the hills in the distance
This band holds the same rank as the Beatles and Zeppelin for their ability to write songs and albums that were all so different yet so uniquely them. The went so many directions and stayed The Cure the whole time. True artists and legends!
they passed those bands along time ago man
Me thinks Mr Smith is a bit manic depressive
I can’t even put into words how cool and extremely artistic The Cure are.
I am almost 60 now- 1st heard the Cure in 1979. Not a year has passed that I no longer appreciate their amazing music-
Excellent. Long may it bring you and the rest of us pleasure.
Say goodbye on a night like this
If it's the last thing we ever do
You never looked as lost as this
Sometimes it doesn't even look like you
It goes dark
It goes darker, still
Please stay
But I watch you like I'm made of stone
As you walk away
I'm coming to find you, if it takes me all night
A witch hunt for another girl
For always and ever is always for you
Your trust
The most gorgeously stupid thing I ever cut in the world
Say hello on a day like today
Say it everytime you move
The way that you look at me now
Makes me wish I was you
It goes deep
It goes deeper, still
This touch
And the smile and the shake of your head
I’m coming to find you, if it takes me all night
Can’t stand here like this anymore
For always and ever is always for you
I want it to be perfect, like before
Oh ho ho, I want to change it all
Oh ho ho, I want one
I know all of the lyrics now!!! Thank you.💜📿
"And the smile and the shake of your head
And the smile and the shake of your head"
Still gives me goosebumps. Thanks for sharing lyrics!
Marine, beautiful name. I wanted to name my daughter that way, wife won the fight.
I want one -> I want to change
"It goes dark.
It goes darker, still.
Please stay!
But I watch you.
Like I'm made of stone,
as you walk away!"
💔
his dancing is so adorkable
TyrannyofTheMasses He's like a teddy bear with dark clothes and big, lovely hair! ❤️
i remember being an angsty kid and walking around in the snow with this song playing in my ears... and i still love it. the live version on 'show' is great as well...
I adore this song and have been a die hard Cure fan since 1988. The Cure has helped me through my hardest days and still does. 💜🖤❤
I watched Robert sing this last night in Houston Texas truly a magical night I've never cried so much in my entire life with over 7 encores and dancing screaming singing my heart out only 17 years old in a room full of adults man of them already already attended cure concerts but last night wast my first
+nimsir14 super coooool! i'm watching them tomorrow night!

Same! I went to the Dallas show, I swear I was the only 18 year old fan there. I was hysterical, screaming and laughing and crying half the night. lol Best night ever, I didn't want it to end!
Aw, man. I missed the chance to see them in Texas. :(
I'm glad you got to go and enjoy their concert!!
Same three weeks ago... so much happy tears
Wow! This sax ! This solo! You can’t imagine what kind of sensation I feel inside me! This song is a masterpiece still today after about four decades it came out! 80’s was truly an magical and unbelievable period! Robert Smith a great songwriter and a sublime voice! ✌️👍🙏🙏🙏

saxophone solo by Ron Howe from Fools Dance

Peter Pluymers The Cure and The Smiths are what I live for.
Norma Jean Clark
I think I played "What difference does it make" from The Smiths and "A Forest" from The Cure with my band way before you were born :) Personally I think Robert Smith and Johnny Marr were the most inspiring guitar players for me :D

One of my very favourites of The Cure, Brilliant!!
OMG- the lyrics move me still to this day. Absolutely gothically beautiful perfection!!!
Robert Smith, para mi es un cantante de una categoría mayor, es un Genio de la música, cada vez que escucho todas sus canciones y en especial ésta me siento extraordinariamente muy feliz y con una gran inspiración.... GRANDE POR SIEMPRE THE CURE.
I'm african american and this is'nt usually the type of music I like.. but I get emotional, and can completely relate🎼🎸🎤
Great when that happens
Jay Dee It sure is😁👍
@zxz Minor chords do it every time don't they. Always evokes an emotional response in me without fail.😍
The Cure is transcendent in every sense: just like heaven but transcending categories like race, gender, class, etc. Hallmark of a truly great artist.
@@pmarcelle6159 Masters of the minor.
One of my favorite videos of the cure. What a beautiful song...just one of so many. ❤️
just absolutely love this song
The Cure 👑 king of rock
I have goose bumps all over my body. I listened this song a thousand times in the darkest time of my life, 1991. Thanks for uploading
Traffic ticket for speeding while jamming to this. No regrets
This is my favorite Cure song of THE MOMENT.. but it changes often... I fucking adore them.
I'm 21 this year and my dad introduced me to the cure when I was around 16. I love them so much. This song is one of my favourites!
I'm 53 and this song gives me chills everytime I play it especially when the saxophone kicks in🔥
the cure qué banda tan fantástica todos sus canciones forman un mundo oscuro y sus letras son un universo del gótico geniales❤️
17 years ago. Dear Lord. 17….years….ago. Wow. And of course - of course - it’s still one of the greatest songs ever written and performed.
That chiming, chorus-effected guitar tone is one of the most beautiful sounds that i have heard in 38 years of being a music listener whose tastes are primarily in the realm of metal.
I second that!
Amo a este hombre y a su música 😍❤️

Brilliant, obscure and my oasis...
Alexandra Ghovaee oscura densa la canción que me saco de los momentos mas oscuros de mi vida.
Obscure? This was extremely popular on indie stations. It IS the Cure!
a night like this was a tune I played so often when young, I found it so emotional
Every time I listen to this I get this "best track ever by anyone" feeling.
I think we can all relate to the part of the song where he says "I want to change it all." Such an amazing song. Thank you Robert Smith!!
A fantastic, yet haunting song.
Эту песню можно слушать вечно, и в любых аранжировках. Проссто кайф!!!
The Cure es la banda más espectacular que haya existido, y este tema en particular es una obra de arte.
Is true
Love this song, it's one of their best, the video is so cute too with Robert making all those cute movements.
I woke in the middle of the night while watching the MTV Classic channel and hearing this video was on. The dream I remember having was that I was walking out of a high school after surviving an apocalypse and it seemed similar like it was at the end of a movie just before the credits role. Listening to The Cure is like being hugged from the inside out. Kiss you a thousand times.
Those guitars! That hair! ❤️❤️❤️❤️
Love Simon’s footsteps and the way he dances with his bass. The best!
And the fact that is not playing his bass line on this video makes it so cool!
fantastic tune on a CLASSIC album!
Robert Smith and the invisible saxaphone... For a long time I didn't even notice because Robert is so pretty he distracted me. 💖
saxophone solo by Ron Howe from Fools Dance
I just love how Simon is playing air guitar on his bass instead of doing the real bass line so he can dance and look more appealing on the video :)
The lyrics, the feeling and those backing vocals ! Oh dear. Thanks
The cure are still going strong today, which is a lot more than can be said of most bands started in the late 1970`s. Great band, superb track, long live the cure.
How many times have I played this song in my car?
+1000.....

Sounds like it’s already been tattooed on your soul.
Whenever I listen to this song I always feel overwhelmed by the seriousness of this lyrics. The Cure is the best.
A Night Like This!! One of the Cure's very best songs!!

この曲がなかったらCureを聴いてなかったかも知れないくらい大好き
I just love them over 30 years now! Back in ´86 I had the same haircut than Robert ;)
That haunting sax part really fits well in this song.

Brilliant as always...
One of my most favorite song from Robert Smith and THE CURE 😍🎸
Saw them the first time in 1989 The Prayer Tour, just missed out in 87. Saw a few more times. Music still moves me now
One of the best, underrated song.
I agree toucan. Who am I to tell the greatest musical mind ever what to do? His songs have kept me partially sane for the last 25 years.
Perfect song!!!
For me, this song is the top 5 The Cure!!!!
Adoro essa música. Amo The Cure!

I want it to be perfect like before! I just love this song, I cried for a week 'cause I couldn't go to The Cure's concert here at Brazil. They're just my favorite band. ):
Sono passati più di 30 anni da quando la ascoltavo, ma è sempre stupenda
There definitely is a hidden appeal in this song. It is my favourite tune on the album and it could completely be ignored if one does not "find" it.
Just the saxophone alone, in the middle, is utterly perfect, this song (with a forest) is Robert Smith / the cure personified - im back in college, its 1985 and everything is possible - pure fucking magic
I love the vid && the way he moves! Oh this song is one of my faves!
