UPDATE:
Yes I am aware that this run probably isnt going to be verified due to using a mod not currently allowed to help with minecraft's crashing. However literally every top speedrunner will consider this the world record so I dont plan on retitling or deleting the video or anything like that. To be honest I personally believe it should be verified anyway and it's unfortunate for everyone involved and the minecraft community as a whole. Still show love to drip as this is a very deserved run
So unfortunate. At least this is one of the best run ever.

@@CrunkNuts it was a mod that stops worldpreview from crashing, and it was not verified for mcsr leaderboards, fulham has a video on it
@@skyward14is it likely/possible that the mod could get verified after the run, letting the speed run get verified? Or is it like what happened with dream where the mod gives u an unfair advantage?
@@jimybobjimit's not something that will give you an advantage. It only stops a crash with a few lines of code
when i was watching this i was mentally going "if he didnt do that it wouldve been sub 7" constantly, like i would be able to do better

Same, but I always think immediately after, that it only means that there is room for improvement
this was my thought too, but then, I thought as they were one-cycling, I had the thought of "oh if they 3+1 instead of 4bed, it might’ve been it", but then they actually did do 3+1, and it occured to me, for every little mistake that cost a second, there's so many other things they're doing that save that second back. This is just a guess, but I've seen a lot of speedruns, and while this persons mechanics looks amazing, they aren't perfect like nofear or doogile, and honestly, I think this was probably on average a better example of a time they could've got, and on average they prob stood to lose time rather than gain it

speedrunning was partially the reason i started getting into minecraft (from dream's manhunts), i have learnt so many things since

@@Juliemcrsg but it filters seeds for a god seed (specifically a completable ruined portal with a lighter, looting 2 or 3 sword, and food, a bastion and a fortress in adjacent quadrants, a sub 300 block blind travel, and an ocean exposed stronghold)

It’s starting to get really difficult to see where time can be saved; there’s really only minor time losses here. Sub 7 will certainly happen at some point, but how much lower can it realistically get?

Nofearr’s record hasn’t even been verified yet and it’s already beaten by over twenty seconds. Absolutely incredible. As a Norwegian, I was surprised to suddenly notice the game was in my mother language lmao
EDIT: More so surprised at why it would be used rather than surprised at the thought that the player might be Norwegian, because most Norwegian people are proficient enough at English to understand the game already lol

Ppl didnt really talk about it, but at 3:30 when he goes to the other side of the bridge, there's a split second where (I think) the piglin is very close to coming in the way of his block placement (it jumps but couldnt step on the block). Like if he hadnt placed those blocks as quickly as he did he would've at least taken some damage and could'even fallen down into the lava. Just a small detail of how many small things can really mess up a run.

1 week after nofear wr, doogile almost beats it with a 7:30 no zero then 3 weeks later this like wtf is going on
Even with all the nerves that he experienced, he managed to get a 7:01. Sub 7 easily beatable with enough luck.

Couriway, not sure if this was already suggested, but I got a speedrun challenge for you.
Minecraft but you’re a Bodyguard, meaning you’ll have to bring a friend to speedrun with.
Challenge rules would be you are not allowed to do anything besides fight off mobs, your friend can only punch away mobs and is not allowed to slay the mobs, except for The Ender Dragon. It will be on Hardcore to make it challenging so if either of you dies, you lose (and/or will have to retry). Generate a random seed, you must complete said seed even if it’s bad. The only time you can reroll for a new seed is when/if one of you dies (you can’t die on purpose to reroll).
Anyways when/if you read this, firstly hello, and secondly hope you have a good rest of your day.

@@hreg5260the speedrunner used a mod during the speed run which is supposed to prevent the game from crashing, however it is not legal in minecraft speed running for whatever reason so the speed run will never be verified.

same goes for the mac eyezoom mod cuz hardly anyone uses mac. sad.

I find it interesting that despite such a short speedrun the WRs are almost always broken by big chunks of 20+ seconds. I wonder when the run will become so optimized that records will be broken by a second or less. Also theres hardly any repeat WR holders

Out of curiosity, when drip goes through the nether portal at 7:44, why does he build up a couple blocks beside the portal and jump on them?

it's to prevent the overworld portal to be spawned in a cave
if your nether portal is built too low, odds of ur overworld portal to spawn in a cave is higher. a few blocks might reduce those odds by a tiny bit, but it reduces it nontheless.
they do this so that it reduces a chance for a portal to spawning in the cave.

@@Neon_Daze sub six is definitely possible with what we have now, it's basically current wr with slightly faster splits and a zero cycle. I'm pretty sure most people are against pausing tho, I sure am.

Me watching xylenox thinking it’s never going to be beaten. Me watching nofear thinking it’s never going to be beaten. Me watching this thinking WHAT THE ACTUAL HECK OH MY GOD
I'll preface this by saying I'm not super up-to-date with the latest strats. How is he able to know the exact location of the stronghold with a single eye? I thought you had to use 2 to triangulate to know exact coords? I know the strongholds spawn in rings, so you roughly know the distance, but isn't that still quite a bit of range? Would be happy to hear how they do this!
you use a third party tool called ninja brain bot to calculate the possible position of the stronghold by only analyzing one eye but it's not 100% accurate but still works most of the time
there's also a technique called Divine travel that analyzes fossil structure in nether to determine the position of the stronghold
ender eye only points at 8,8 in a chuck, that filtered out many situations
He measured the eye pixel perfect and only one stronghold location could intercept the line
