My speed has always been good and my firestick tv has always been in the same room as my router so no issues there. My buffering has never been a huge problem but like everyone else i don’t want it to happen EVER. I noticed a small amount of buffering today and came upon your video. i’m gonna start my movie and again and see if there’s a difference. You're doing everything right! I subscribed to your channel 2-3 yrs ago and I have kept my Firestick in proper operating condition ever since. I check background apps every week or so and the speed test less so. The last time I checked I had 7 apps running in the background. I have an old Firestick so I probably won't get the new interface but I'm used to what I have, so I'm good.
While watching this video to see why streaming on my stick did so much buffering, I downloaded the background apps and processes Android app for my phone. I found 76 apps open in the background! No wonder my phone has been running slowly. As for the stick, there were only 13 apps running, so I've concluded that it's the source. Thanks for the video; it was double help for me!

I downloaded speed test from appstore. When I tried to open it flashed the logo but would not open. Is there a setting that I need to activate. This is the first time I've downloaded an app and tried to open it. Can you help me? Thanks really enjoy your videos.
I’m so pleased to find how to delete the background apps or force stop. My problem is I have a prime video PIN which I have to input every time I try to use an application then watch any content. How do I stop this please

Hi Did what you recommended downloaded the Background app, found 13 apps running in background and 227 "Whitelisted Apps" running in background. Forced stop as recommended, should i also force stop "Whitelisted apps" ????

I live in Central America, and right now, 10 mbps is pretty much what I have, altho they are soon to be running fiber optic here. After running speed test, I find that if I choose links that are 1080p & 10mbits or less, I have no problems with buffering. Sometimes I can stream larger links, but generally keep it to that limit and its good. Am running Syncler and Cinema on the Firestick.

I only had 9 apps but I now know how to do this. I think it may be number two you talked about. But yesterday they had to fix wire or something on my service and now is buffering a lot have over 150 down load speed. Every other device is streaming great only problem with fire stick

Thanks this worke, my kodi would not boot up once I force stop the background app and deleted a app i did not use that took up 1.6 gb it started working again.
Display settings on the fire stick may also be the issue. The TH-cam app on the fire stick is especially finicky if your display settings are too high which they normally are by default. Anything over 24 hertz will generally cause buffering on that and a few other apps. Out the box the settings are on 60 hertz.
Help since this is my third attempt, I will get straight to the point. After clicking "got it" there was a list CM, Sy/U, CAA, SLOUT, PERF, INTRO & PACK. ON CM it showed only 8 apps running in the background. But when I moved the curser over to System/USER 189 Apps were open in the background. I have already messed up my computer I don't want to screw up this fire stick by closing apps in the background that are making her run. What do I do. Meanwhile I will check to see what other instructional videos you have out. Thanks for the vpn info. Now I have to see how to apply onto the multiple areas I was movies and tv.

Something else that helps, while you are force stopping your running apps, also clear your cache. I find that this also helps increase your speed.

I fixed my buffering by running a cable from my modem to my fire stick, over the roof down the wall. It was quit a chore but well worth the trouble.
