My favorite ERA of gaming right there. Games were original, fresh and inventive. With what little they had to work with, the devs really put out some amazing stuff.
Finally someone has the taste to include the SNES Jurassic Park OST. That soundtrack was MAGICAL. Several tracks haunt me 30 years later. To this day. Take me immediately back to 1993/1994 when I was playing it every day.
Demon's Crest (Blazon) is amazing, for me the best game i've played in SNES, a shame that Capcon never continued the series :(, they have only used Firebrand as a fighter in some games.
If you like the Maximum Carnage music, check out Green Jelly and their album "333". Their album before that contained their legendary hit single "Three Little Pigs"
If you enjoy Cybernator as I did, do as I also did and play the original Japanese version with English translation. Get the full story as you re live a nostalgic treat. The old devs won't fault you for it. You owe it to yourself and SNES games are some of the easiest roms and emulators to run.
Another great video. I've been keeping up with all your top 30 videos and I am always checking for updates for the next one. After seeing both of the top 30 Snes videos, there are still a few I wish could had been mentioned such as Majin Tensei, Majin Tensei II, Last Bible III, Beasts & Blades, Chaos Seed, Energy Breaker, Sword World, Rudra no Hihou, Super Robot Taisen Gaiden: Masoukishin: The Lord of Elemental, Super Turrican, Super Turrican 2, Jim Power, Ys IV: Mask of the Sun, Brandish 2, Madara 2, Shin Momotarou Densetsu, B.O.B., Live a Live, Front Mission: Gun Hazard, Umihara Kawase, Soul & Sword and others that I do not have room to mention. Anyways, thanks for this video, and I am looking forward to the next installment.
Jurassic Park! In Dolby Surround, too! Amazing! I loved Alien 3 too, similar atmospheric vibes! Parodius comes to mind as an example of a wild and great sounding game too if it's not already on your list!
in terms of music compositions mana beats evermore without any doubt. but evermore was a great game nevertheless with very atmospheric backround sounds.
@40:04 As much as I like Tales of Phantasia's music, a correction needs to take place. This game was composed by Motoi Sakuraba, Shinji Tamura and Ryota Furuya. Fighting of the Spirit is actually well documented as a Shinji Tamura composition. Typically, Sakuraba does almost all of the fighting music in later Tales games, but at this point, it wasnt as well established who was doing what until they started to work together more frequently. Most of Tales of Phantasia's compositions arent documented, but I can assure you, this is a Shinji Tamura composition.
Aww, no Wily 1 from Rockman 7? That one was the coolest! And why Gourmet Race for KDL3? Sand Canyon 1 is actually an original track from that game and it's much better. Really glad to see Freeze Man, though. That track is so good!
Wow... Secret of Evermore. Glad to know others know of this wonder! And my ever favourite, Illusion of Gaia "In the Earthen Womb". Mmm... I love that tune. Then of course, Breath of Fire. So many good classic games wth awesome music!
I never realized that there were *this* many RPGs on the SNES. Makes you wonder why the N64 had absolutely no RPGs for it suddenly. They kind of do look alike I have to say, but it was kind of a winning formula back then and I wouldn't have complained. Also Lady Stalker looks like it might be a fun thing to play sometime :D
The problem with the RPG was that the games were relatively memory extensive, they had impressive graphics, and very good soundtracks. RPGs were very expensive to produce by the time 1994 hit, and the cost of memory and the cheaper disc formats becoming popular, as well as some of the strict guidelines put forth by Nintendo (ie. religious references were common in RPGs, and some had alcoholic beverages consumed by the players, but these references were removed by Nintendo of Americas request. Also, Final Fantasy 1,4, and 6 were released as 1,2 and 3 because Nintendo of America forced Squaresoft to change the numbers as 2,3 and 5 werent released in the US until years later, thats why there was a jump right to Final Fantasy 7 when it appeared on the Playstation) made it tougher to make the games. Sony wanted the business, had the money to pay companies to develop for the Playstation, and memory could be extended by having multiple disks for the same game.
genialidad absoluta , comose nota la creatividad tanto de los compositores como de los que hacian los juegos , la era dorada de los videojuegos fueron los 90 s
Love this music! However, the Biker Mice from Mars track is clearly a rip-off of Judas Priest's "Riding on the Wind" (a good song to rip-off, no doubt).
You can say all kinds of things about FF: Mystic Quest - it's so simplistic, the gameplay is monotonous, the characters are bare bones, the story is little more than a half-assed excuse for things to happen, the game's very existence is a patronizing insult; it's all true! - but you can't in good conscience knock the soundtrack. There's not a bad track on it, and some of them are just _pure fire._
Number 27: Lady Stalker - Eri Suga - Fighting Spirit at 43:06 is not the original SNES version. Its a cover version of "Combat" th-cam.com/video/5oCJtIB61v4/w-d-xo.html I believe this version was a cover from the OST album.
You missed some great soundtrack Spiderman & Venom: Separation Anxiety (better than maximum carnage) Tiny Toon Adventures Dragon Ball Z - Super Saiyan Densetsu Every song on super mario All-stars
Having come here from Snes collection of songs 1 I don't like the big advertisement for it covering up the screen. I hope he doesn't do this on his other videos.

Lol Well, in his defense I think a lot of time the best tracks from games end up being the intro/openings or Stage 1/main theme music. Maybe the composers figure it's best to get the game really rolling and put aome of the best tracks from the game towards the beginning? Don't get me wrong, some awesome music can also be heard in game's towards the end, too. But it does seem like it's common to have memorable tunes early on.
Cybernator's We've Gotta Do It sounds different from the version I've got. Is it from a re-release? And I assume In Despair is the Bad Ending theme? It's been a few years since I last played it and I've not seen it that often anyway so I don't recall it too well.
The best console of the history.
I have to agree with this!
Yup!
Along with the PS1
@@spt-rx-78-24 The PS1 hasn't aged as well as the SNES

I really like top gear ^^
I played it nonstop xD
By far the best track ever
Quite possibly the sickest track you could make on 16-bit

If you're titling this as SNES soundtracks, then it should be SNES versions only. No tracks from other consoles, no arranged versions.
I'm sayin'
Agree.
The Snes Versions has the best Sound for the beginning of the 90 s and in this he made it...multiplatform were some Games but music original...

Oops - got a clip of Cybernator/Assault Suits Valken in there with the Metal Warriors footage.
That Shadowrun tune is strange - doesn't sound like it's from the SNES game. Maybe a remix?
Gotta be a remix, sucks
This music of Jurassic Park game is perfect! It fits perfectly in the ambiance of the game, I played this game a lot because of the songs

Shadowrun is criminally underrated.
