After starting with those tunes it's like, "My body is ready!" I still don't get why people say Mega Man 2 is a better OST than Mega Man 3. Mega Man 2 is great, don't get me wrong, and its Wily Fortress 1 is still one of the top 5 NES tracks of all time, but 3 is just better in so many other ways.
Dargonhuman 3 just has a consistently amazing soundtrack, even for the typically throwaway Stage Select, Weapon upgrade and Password themes. 3 also has riveting Wily stage themes. Aside from 2s Wily Stage 1, it only had one other, weak Wily theme. So taken as a whole, 3 wins out.

I moved to another city and I lost the cartridge, I feel so sad and nostalgic for that. Since that I always stick around to try to encounter one similar.
Both 2 and 3 are tremendous games. I always liked the style of 2 just a bit more. 2 seems more innocent, beautiful, naive and dealing with themes of nature. 3 seems to be more practical, has more industrial and mechanical settings (which you would expect, naturally in a game about robots) and you can sense the difference in the soundtrack too. 3 feels more mature and sophisticated even, while 2 feels more timeless and beautiful. But regardless both have so many amazing tunes. I also think 3 will kick your ass considerably more. So the challenge is more mature too.
I think their base simplicity also has helped them age extremely well. They are just good NES games. Yet despite that they also are very innovative with the non-liniear structure, ability to use your enemy's power ups and the traversal powers. It really feels they first made a simple but very solid base and then build on top of that. This is in contrast to a lot of modern games that are just a bunch of overly complicated ideas thrown together.

I used to rent the game often in a video store close to my house, I remember being awestruck with the weapon upgrade theme the first time I was able to beat a robot master. I forgot about most of this until a few years back, when I heard the intro theme in a video. Memories of 6-year old me came flowing back with great detail and a bittersweet wave of nostalgia engulfed me. You have to try every single flavor, and figure out which one tastes, or in this case, sounds the best! It's that great of a soundtrack!
General rule of thumb for all Mega Man/Mega Man X games: The electricity-themed levels always have great music. Spark Man's theme is near the top of the list for any Mega Man music
This soundtrack goes hard. I remember when my Mom got this for me at Toys R Us. It was priced at a whopping $60. She was like this is your Christmas present come early. I was like yes, I want it now. One of the best Christmas presents ever. Thanks Mom.
Funny thing is, I suffer from a very severe misophonia (kind of a "intolerance" to certain sounds) and one of my "triggers" is whistles, specially in a tune practically identical to this song. The effects on me is having all of the body reactions to pain with psychological/cognitive adverse effects on top of it. To make it simple, whistles makes me "feel pain" and all the reactions related to it, from my body to my mind... But somehow this single song never triggered it. Instead I love it to pieces since the very first time I managed to beat this game and even today, 3 decades later, I still love it. The magic of great art, I think.

I don't know why but my bro and I always sang the lyrics "No pub-licity, no pub-licity.. No Publicity NOW!!" to that song.
1-snake man 2- hard man 3- boss selection 4- spark man 5-weapon upgrade
In the early 90s, I had an obsession for this game. And its music has stayed with me all these years.
How does a wordless 8 bit sound track kick so much ass. Psychology is a complex thing
Rhythmic and complex, unpredictable and exciting
Dr. WILY’s castle 1 is such a jam
One of the greatest soundtracks in history. Not just out of games
10:20 the beginning of every playthrough once you knew what worked against the opponents :)
This game has the coolest "sort of sad, but awesome" vibe to it. Kind of like Cowboy Bebop or something like that somehow.
This soundtrack definitely has blues influence.
@Ashwin Ash The title track is blues, through and through. And you can pick up hints of it in many of the other tracks.
Not to mention Proto Man's Japanese name is Blues.
@@RandomMcSomethin That's right!
Melancholic, but it's also upbeat. Most of the tracks have a "things are tough, but let's fucking do this" vibe. If anyone has any recommendations for other soundtracks like this let me know.
This intro was the most METAL thing NES ever produced. This, and Bloody Tears from Castlevania 2.
エピローグの曲、続きがあったんですね。ゲーム中で流れない部分まで聴けて良かったです。
I need to meet the man who created 22:22. Kygo's grandfather? Absolutely amazing. What memories.
Spark Man theme: WOW.
Brandon Ginsburg I seriously can’t think of a better video game song, ever.
Yeah I love spark man
@@happygodavid megaman V wily stages/MaGMML2 tier 8 level - escape sequence
I used to rent the game often in a video store close to my house, I remember being awestruck with the weapon upgrade theme the first time I was able to beat a robot master.
I forgot about most of this until a few years back, when I heard the intro theme in a video. Memories of 6-year old me came flowing back with great detail and a bittersweet wave of nostalgia engulfed me. I had to sit down, hahah... those moments are rare and I cherish this game for that reason.
Incredible soundtrack: after nearly 30 years I still enjoy listening to it!
Megaman 3 had by far the best music out of all the Nes titles. 21:34 boss battle is my favorite!
ロックマンは家がファミコン禁止だったのでやったことはありません、曲はいいですね、あと主人公の顔
かわいい笑
Megaman 3's soundtrack is a true masterpiece. It took me forever to watch this video bcs I kept rewinding a lot of themes lol it just brings back so many memories
It really is a fantastic soundtrack. I can listen to it over and over again, and my favorite theme always changes. Every single one is titillating ear candy, and you can't pick just one piece. You have to try every single flavor, and figure out which one tastes, or in this case, sounds the best! It's that great of a soundtrack!
Spark Man's theme is super underrated man... it's like the best Megaman Song
agreed
Nonononono... HARD man is underrated! Gemini man’s theme might be too. Spark man’s stage is probably one of the most popular mm3 robot master themes.
Agreed
FISH STIKS agreed, i always think spark man theme when i think mega man 3
22:22 my favorite from this game.
This game and soundtrack is the reason why I became an engineer.
hello grad1u52 I am a boy of 8 years old my dad play megaman 3 when he is a kid now he is 42 years old
General rule of thumb for all Mega Man/Mega Man X games: The electricity-themed levels always have great music. Spark Man's theme is near the top of the list for any Mega Man music
16:48 Best boss theme in the series imo
You really feel a sense of urgency and danger with it.
This soundtrack goes hard. I remember when my Mom got this for me at Toys R Us. It was priced at a whopping $60. She was like this is your Christmas present come early. I was like yes, I want it now. One of the best Christmas presents ever. Thanks Mom.
26:30 im literally crying, so damn great😢
Funny thing is, I suffer from a very severe misophonia (kind of a "intolerance" to certain sounds) and one of my "triggers" is whistles, specially in a tune practically identical to this song.
Megaman always had the best music
LittleBalla Productions 9 is not bad
NES Mega Man soundtracks need to be in a museum somewhere.
Yeah!!
You got:
Sued
Better yet, there needs to be a video game radio station.
@@JayByrd83 I'd listen lol
I used to play this over and over just to listen to the music. Best video game soundtrack ever.
I would spend several minutes at a time between levels listening to Weapon Get and the stage select screen, just enjoying the music.
Spark man, title screen and snake man is my favorite song in this game
For me, the best OST in the series. Hear this make me feel comfortable and happy
I think it's great that everyone has a different favorite song. For me it's Magnet Man stage. It's "The Moon" of Mega Man 3.
Magnet Man´s theme is the best of the NES
I think the music on MM3 is better overall than on MM2, with the exception of Wily Stage 2 on MM2
18:15 個人的にロックマンシリーズの中で最高の武器入手曲だと思います。
Me too!
The Mega Man / Rock Man 3 soundtrack rocks!
The Password theme is pretty underrated. I love it so much!
22:22
Determination , Cyberpunk , Future, Momentum , No Mercy &
I don't know....It was fuckin cool childhood of my life.
Agreed. That track is merciless and hopeless. Very dramatic and fitting.
Whenever I hear Spark Man's theme I instantly think of those steppy one eyed robots that step almost to the beat
spark man and shadow mans themes are so good, but proto man theme (epilogue in the list above) takes the cake, such a sad theme
I'm listening this while in home office during this Covid 19 pandemic times and it sure lifts my mood, great OST, great game; there's water in my eyes, thanks for uploading this jewel!
same!
Def brings me back
Ya kiddin' me, friend? I mean, Magnet Man's theme was the first song I ever Kazaa'd~ we had this when I was a little guy, my dad and me beat it together. He'd defeat the Reboot Master levels, then I'd take over for the Wily Stages.. ALWAYS loved hearing that boss music!!
Nickel The Wise I used to beat the game so I could listen to the best song ever “mega man 3 ending credits song”!!
En castellano plis
Megaman 3 is the best game. I like the robot masters. And the enemy robot selection theme. I'm a megaman fan and I'm good at centurman stage and the others
Even though Top Man is the most significant level and boss from my childhood since it basically was my route to finish the game, i just love the Spark Man theme its so omnious.
What a timeless work of art! I don't even know if people knew what kinds of emotion you can convey within the scope of 8bit❤
this game has the happiest game over music ever
Dr. Wily's Castle 2 is a tune that's randomly popped into my head throughout my entire life.
haha u aint the only one
Wily Castle 2 is dramatic which is perfect for being a boss stage theme. It's my favorite along with Spark Man & Hard Man.
get chills every time i hear top man's theme, it's so catchy
Can't stop the top!
Don't shoot me when I'm dancing!
Dodge bullets when I'm spinning!
Can't stop the top!
Behold, the greatest Video Game Soundtrack of all time!!!
All these years later and I can still hmm along with every beat. The soundtrack alone makes this a top tier mega man game.
The op theme gives the 13 year old me chills, knowing that I'm about to embark on an awesome adventure!
Same (was younger than 13 lol)
I remember just turn it on and leave the title screen song while doing other things... lol
Thank you very much Yasuaki Fujita!
Weapon Upgrade deserves a ten-hour loop.
Everything I know about music started here.
I’ll never finish this video, I just continue going back to the title screen tune. What nostalgic roundhouse kick to the core.
THANK YOU for playing the entire whistle theme ending part. It always got cut off at the end, then i found out there's the way to slow everything down using a 2nd controller, so i heard the entire thing when i first did it.
Wait really?
私も途中までしか聞けないと思っていたんですが、弟の友人がおそらく同じ方法で最後まで聞かせてくれました。
それをビデオ録画して大事に保存してましたね
This is the best video game soundtrack ever, not just the best Mega Man soundtrack.
Super Mario Galaxy would like to have a word with you
@@pug_lover_6450 this is the biggest joke i've ever read
@@mika_iran thank you. While I do think Galaxy's soundtrack is amazing, I mostly said this as a j o k e. So thanks for the compliment bud
@Всё интересное oh yeah both soundtracks of Sonic CD are top tier. My personal favorite one is the Japanese one
@Всё интересное my favorite tracks are D.A Garden and Tidal Tempest Present. Stardust Speedway Present is a good listen tol
Hard Man's stage music is so underrated. So good!
Gives me the chills! Great song!
8bit sound chips have a grittyness to them that can't be duplicated on more modern sound chips

やはりロックマン3は名曲揃いだよなあ!何回聴いても飽きませんね!
thnx a lot Japanese for this great game c:
2よりも総合点高い。
特にハードマンは随一
Best Classic Megaman game ever. Best soundtrack, too.
Nothing quite takes me back to my childhood like the bit of music at 2:50
This tune reminds me of vetrex4life. Remember watching his videos about forgotten games.
I'd say it's the game over music for me at 1:27 lol
@@rip93ford That, too. lol
MM 3 title song is so good I used to leave my NES into the title screen just to listen to it...Until my parents started to yell "Boy, come on now!" :D
Most people say that MM2 has the BEST Mega Man Soundtrack oat...
But why is it that *EVERY DAMN TIME* I hear the Mega Man 3 Soundtrack, I tend to *disagree!*
