We do share our thoughts on it in some episodes of @thisweekinretro podcast. I have one for my DIY arcade and it works near perfectly. Almost no delay, very accurate and feels good in your hands. The great thing is that it does not need IR sensors, only the white bar on the sides that in a dark room can be set to very small and will still work flawless. If it was not for the import costs that I knew before I ordered (and made my lightgun A LOT more expensive) I would rate it a 9.8/10 for what you can expect from it. Looks great on the side of my arcade :))

      That said, I've seen that the lag introduced there may be too much for this particular application. However the lag that I saw was on a 1080p stream. If the resolution of the Sinden's camera is much, much, lower, the lag may not be an issue.

      That's probably doable with a Raspberry or similar Linux box that handles the driver and an interface board that translates the input into the signal that the console (core) expects. If Sinden and Blaze could so some form of deal to install compatible drivers on the Evercade VS console, I'd buy one (maybe two). It would open the doors to light gun games, with the popularity of a lack of potential compatibility/setup/technophobia issues.
    Blaze license deals pending, I can see a few light gun cartridges being released. "Bang!" is already (hidden) via Gaelco arcade cartridges, which is cool but awkward on a gamepad.
    I guess current may be an issue via the Evercade VS' USB ports as the whole console runs from 5 watts. Maybe a powered USB hub solution if required?

    • @VulpisFoxfire
      @VulpisFoxfire ปีที่แล้ว

      ...AR I can maybe see, but why VR? VR gun-use works on reading where the hands are pointing, a completely different technique and technology than used for light-guns, which involves the gun detecting the screen you're playing on. Granted, I could see someone maybe doing a gun controller for VR...which would basically be the internals of a standard hand controller in a gun-shaped shell.

    The ability to create new games for it is so much simpler, and will be extremely fast.

    Not had a great experience with mine, it was a pain to setup and then I could only get it working with a couple of games (Duck Hunt in retroarch and Point Blank in Mame). Not sure why but all the buttons register as the same input.

    I would love this for my OLED TV, but am a bit timid by its complexity to set up. Can anyone mention how complicated it is to set this thing up? Saw some videos and seemed like a lot of settings and things to go through. Prefer the more plug and play aspect of things these days with work and such going on in life.

If you're really into plug and play Batocera has a plug and play solution for Sinden light guns. These things are just awesome!! I have 2

    I love my Sinden's but $250 for the foot pedal? Cant they bring that price down a bit?! My Sinden light gun was less expensive in a 2 pack. You should sell those for $100 to people that bought the Sinden and backed it. Give your OG customers some love!

      I suggest looking up Jasen Baker’s TH-cam channel “Integrum Retro” on setting up Sindens. I was in the same boat as you until I found his video. Plus, you can get drives from him already configured for Sinden. If you have any problems with the games he’ll fix it for you.

    I recently dropped about $300 on a pair of Aimtrak guns w/recoil because I've set up and used them before so I have familiarity. Also, I've heard the Sinden can be a pain to set up and I also didn't like the white frame around the screen... But even with all that said, I kind of wished I went with Sinden instead. Anyone here have first hand experience with Aimtrak vs Sinden?
