      I didn’t try this. However it would allow you to show photos so it is possible MP4 might work.

    Very interesting video but if I could make one comment. You are dealing with lots of New Citroen owners most of whom have never used the infotainment system and who are eager to learn the different functions, you do go through them all but I think you should slow down a bit so that it gives a chance to sink in. You are totally aware of everything and how it works but you are dealing with people who do not have that knowledge so in a sense you are the School Teacher. I have had the same criticism when showing people how to set up their Laptops so I have learned to slow down. Love your reviews hope you don’t mind the criticism of this particular section.

    • @TechInTheCar
      @TechInTheCar  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for the feedback. I appreciate it. There is a balance between the length of the video and how much I have to show and that means sometimes I have to be quicker than I want. I’m happy to answer any questions anyone has about anything I did quickly. I will keep that in mind with my future infotainment videos. I welcome constructive feedback always!

    • @TechInTheCar

      I don’t know what your phone is or hold old it is; older models required that you download Android Auto from the Play Store. However if your phone is a year old or less that isn’t needed. Make sure your phone is connected to the USB-C connector on the left hand side of the console and not the right.
      If this still doesn’t work then turn your phone off and then on again. And if it still doesn’t work then it is your USB cable as unfortunately not all cables work the same so I would try a different USB-C cable.
      Let me know how it goes!

      If is down to the road - if the car can see the road markings and tell where the sides are then it will allow it to steer. The adaptive cruise is based on the speed you set and the distance in front of any car. Sometimes you may think the road markings are clear but the car won’t.

    • @TechInTheCar
      @TechInTheCar  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      You are correct; there is no battery percentage indicator but it does show the remaining range in miles/km on the digital display. I kind of like not watching the % all the time like your worried about running out. It may be that miles remaining is a better way to do this as the rate at which the power is used isn’t necessarily linear.

    Can you redo this video without the constant cuts back to you sitting in the passenger's seat? I got what you looked like at the beginning. Now I want to learn how to use the infotainment system. Back in the '50s & '60s, when I was at school, If I had a textbook open at a diagram that I needed to know about, I wouldn't look at the teacher's face!
    At 02:38 you had the AC page on screen. You then said talked about looking at 'Phone' and tapped a hidden (from the viewer) button on the screen and the display changed, however, when we next see the screen it's a completely different display. Harking back to my previous comment, why couldn't we see the buttons you pressed to get to that display? All we got was a view of you pressing unseen buttons. You might as well have been doing a radio broadcast!
    You're just the same as a computer engineer talking about using a program. You rattle through things because YOU know how to do things and in so doing, commit the cardinal sin of automatically assuming that everyone else does!
    A definite thumbs down from me!

      Thanks for the feedback; I cut back to myself and around the displays not because it is stylish but because of issues with the filmed video. Sometimes it goes out of focus or I misspeak or the screen doesn’t load - and other times I cut because I need to keep the video length down so showing every press to get to a different screen is what I need to remove. In answer to the question of how I got from climate to phone - I hit the home button and you can see it shows the Home Screen with climate AND phone on there. I hope that helps.

      You have to plug the iPhone into the left USB-C to use CarPlay. Let me know if that fixes it!

      If it was on when you turned the car off it then turns back on when you turn the car on. Is that what you mean?

      It is probably a setting in the car that is turning it back on. I’d have a look at the AC scheduling settings.

      I don’t have the car right now to check exactly. But in settings it should say time/date or some variation of that. You can change it there.

      Make sure you use the USB connector for data and not charging as only one of the USB will work for CarPlay.

      That’s great because the USB-C is what is needed for data transfer for Android Auto & Apple CarPlay.

    Can you set up car to charge only to 80% etc?

    • @TechInTheCar
      @TechInTheCar  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      No you can't. It is an interesting question. I have made a video on the range and charging and I think that unless you charge the car at home overnight you are better of only charging to 80% at rapid chargers. Because 0-80% takes 30 minutes. When I did the charge for one of my upcoming videos I charged from 60-80% in about 10mins - then the remaining 80-100% took 45 minutes or so. If you are going to stop somewhere and have a snack or go shopping then leaving it is fine - but if you want to charge and leave then charging to 80% on two different occasions would be faster than charging to 100% once.

      @@TechInTheCar i am asking for home charging. I would like to preserve battery and when i plug in at night i would like to have no more then 80% at the morning. It would be a big down side if you must manually stop charging in the middl of the night

    • @TechInTheCar
      @TechInTheCar  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      There isn’t a setting to stop at 80% but you could defer the charging; which is in the settings.
      If you know 80% takes 5 hours and you go out at 8am then set the charging to start at 3am in that menu. However you would have to use some trial and error to figure out exactly when to start the charging. Also it depends on if you charge it from a 3 pin plug or wall box as charge times change based on the charger type.

      @@TechInTheCar well can we say its very bad design? I have skoda citigo, 50% lower price.and it has this. You dont return home with the same SOC every day, so you would have to calculate this every single day over and over. I hope update will solve this. This is very basic setting, and really i dont know any EV that does not have this option. KONA, iD3, tesla, e Up, Citigo. LEAF, you name it. All have option to stop charging at specified soc

      @@RomanRoman-xi3dv You can use the My Citroen app to check your levels and pre-heat or cool the car which means you would be able to see when you hit 80%. I didn’t try this myself but it would help make it easier. In terms of updates I am sure Citroen will do that as all car companies will with their new cars going forward. How long does it take to charge your car now to 80% at home?
