How to update the software (operating system & navigation) in a 2021 Citroen e-C4

In this video, I update the software in a 2021 Citroen e-C4 using a PC and a USB stick. This updates both the operating system, navigation and maps. This is something you can do yourself instead of relying on the dealership. It does take a long time though, so be patient and allocate yourself quite a few hours.
This procedure should be the same for all Citroen e-C4 from 2021 and the C4X and e-C4X from 2022.

Hello there. I've had to update my Peugeot e-2008 a couple of times since I got it in Jan 2022 and ive used the USB-A slot in the car to do it, rather than the USB-C. With both cars being effectively the same do you think the USB-C in my Puegeot also work for future updates??

The test is whether Android Auto/Apple Carplay works via that port....unless it has wireless.

Can I use the USB-C port to play music from a memory stick, like I can on my current 19 reg C4 Cactus ? There are some who say you can't or it's difficult to set up.

I've never tried. Days of having music on USB have long gone for me now that everything is streaming.

You didn't select Ireland but Iceland. It's possible most of the map update time was due to it having to also delete all the other countries map data?

I've updated the nav maps again since (only two days ago) and it took just as long and this time it was UK only and deleting Iceland.

I have an eC4 and have successfully updated operating system twice BUT maps are a headache it crashes , took to main dealer they failed as well ..... total rubbish !!!! Thoughts car is connected to my wi fi , why can't it update its self overnight ??

does anyone know how to get apple car play to work? I have a 2022 ec4 c series edition and can't get apple car play to work its just greys out, ive tried both usb and usb-c ports

It uses the USB-C port. Have you tried a different cable?

Use the USB-C port. Then to get the CarPlay option to un-grey, ensure your phone is unlocked when you connect it.
