Or maybe you guessed right for street trim with 2, 4, 6, 7, 8, 9 to ease clutch engagement at low speeds. That makes some sense too. Great example how over-engineer can be so bad, it's like the MGU-H for F1 cars, it removes the turbo lag but it's so complex and expensive that it's not worth to have it, same with the one-clutch-per-gear, and they got it all wrong when they added a lever to change gear, there is no point on not using the paddles since it's much faster and easier. Just as a reference, a F1 car can go from 8th gear to 2nd gear in only 1 second (they rarely use 1st gear)
A solution looking for a problem. Dual clutch transmissions aren’t even slow to change gear. Even if was in the wrong gear, it only takes 8 milliseconds to change gear.
I probably just missed it but how do we get to 7 clutches? I think I understand the first 4 explained near the start but where do the other 3 come from?
The first manual gearbox that can switch ratios depending upon the situation? What about all those old cars with overdrive boxes? Or the C4 vette with the overdrive switch?
That's not switching ratios, is it? Overdrive merely engages an additional gear set to add more top speed. Meanwhile, Koenigsegg's solution is to take a range of 6 gears (2-8 for road, and 3-9 for track use) from the 9 they have in total, to adjust the driving characteristics

To help idiots like myself, can you add something like "according to Christian, who stated this in an interview" next time, to show where the information came from?
@@Hydrazine1000 yeah good idea
Koenigsegg is going to space with every new invention/innovation, but they use their powers for Earth (lucky car-guys, in particular).
Only kids who don't know nothing about cars than a design wheels prefer Pagani over any Koenigsegg, that billi Eggman know how make a legendary supercar, thanks Christian🌹
Amazing video btw
You know those manual shifter cup holder things people got for their Tesla's? That's what their manual reminds me of
the jesko wasnt their first in house built gearbox tho
the agera rs was and tecnically they did on the regera aswell
This is truly incredible. I love that this is indirectly taking a giant shit on EVs too.
i dont care what any purist thinks. but to me that is the pinnacle of a manual gearbox and the next evolution to it.
Crazy that all 50 CC850's sold the first day for $ 3,7 million a pop.
That's what we call uniquety
Vilbrequin YT channel needs to test this beast !
This has inspired me to fill tires on CyberTruck with helium to reduce unwanted unsprung weight. That includes its virtual spare tire too. 🙃
Konesiegg is the Car Company That always Comes up with Innovations and Surprises, The Boss has amazing Personality
At the start I heard: "Kermit circus built....." and I thought the Muppets were back.
They will make 70 instead of 50. They said that recently.
Supercar company: *comes up with something insane*
Me: Lemme guess, Koeniggsegg?
they still use valves tho, but no camshafts & rocker arms
Im a simple man, i see driven media, i click
Nice of George Russell to make a cameo in this video!
Was waiting for this
I'm kinda curious if you can money-shift this thing
Where can i buy the shifter for my simrig? 😁
@@halofreak1990 It's so nice of you to explain when you don't know what you're talking about. I hope you consider that in other parts of your life. Please go look up how an overdrive gearbox works and get back to me with a correct explanation
@@dj_laundry_list it's so nice of you to take things personal and then come back with a smug, know-it-all attitude while not even explaining why what I wrote was wrong.
Maybe you should take a course on how to deal with criticism. Sounds like you need it.
"Let's turn the synchros into clutches and do away with shift forks and all that prehistoric tech."
CVK maybe
Great job once again Google. Scams everywhere yet you do nothing.
I don't get the ratios. Are they different for the 6 from the 9 or are they cherry picked from the 9?
My prediction is well see some koenigseg tech coming in the next bugatti made by rimac
Will the manual mode prevent you from moving the shifter to a gear that would overspeed the engine?
Yeah it does, watch Koenigseggs video on it they explain that
Name a koenigsegg engine without valves, i’m waiting haha 😂
Why nobody told, about Honda, honda makes this and sell own transmission over 20 years old. All Honda transmission has clutch for each speed.
Koenigsseg don't do anything new. He just changed software.
Still...T.50 is my cup of cake 😎
me thinking to myself if its like a normal gearbox but with a robot like Citroen uses ... nope i was waay off
This is mindblowing
Hi, i guess your'e the one got your mind blown away but wo norries
i just found it, but pls watch Koenigsegg and hes things with a excitement meter ...ooh crap here i go too \😳💥💨
When is the next Stock vs Mod update?
is more compleixtiy better? i like it but more parts equals more chances of failure
pffff... in fast &furious we can see 12 gears on manual shifter!
2:29 how swedes change gear
