That motor is still good, that black stuff on the wires is from the black wire sheath. Takes more than that to cook a rocket motor. Almost bet money. Dont clean the wire with a brush run it.
@IRONCLADRC I've got a 4122kv SSS motor coming, I'm eager to try it. I believe the rocket motor is still usable, I was just worried it might smoke the kraken.
These shrimp riggers never level off from what i can see ( nose up at all speeds ) so the drive system never has a rest , suspect CG can go forward a smidge or needs a rear ski or rear side sponsons ( Euro style ) Motor should be screaming right at the end of the straight , that way you know the load is off and youve found the limit of the set up.
@@mariebaxter473 I put a rear ski on mine I copied it off Big B’s I think you are right. It’s made a difference to my shrimp boat. Except for what you said about the euro style I am not sure what euro style you mean most that I have seen don’t go for speed just 6 mins run time. Unless you mean the saw type world record holders. But I looked at the current world record holder Jorg and his rigger don’t seam to have one.
@@jamesatkinson7517 In the 80s/90s the water got pretty choppy, so needed 4 sponsons . I had to mod the moulds for this Lecky power stuff , Not sure of my clip on U tube , try, 4s rigger using HK running gear.
I know your pond limits you to try this but ironclad Rc run his fastest runs without a turn fin. So his prop choice was probably able to go bigger without that fin than what he could do with a fin. I know you watch his channel and you know this but others may not know.
@@jamesatkinson7517 I still think the 4016 is the best prop choice. Definitely gonna run no turn fin next time out. I'll have more batteries by then too
@@H2oMechanic2RC I just built one and did my first run this morning. I’m running the 4000 kv rocket 2968 same as big b and the flycolor 90 and 3816 cnc prop. I got 57 mph only on 4s ,it was a vant 1300 mah 120 c by the time I got the strut angle better the turn fin better and cg better to stop it flying I was out of battery. Hats off to you and big b I have lots to do to catch either of you but man it’s fun.
3rd run on the shrimp boat today I managed to fit a hrb 2200 4s 100c in it. Fin off timing on 7.5 deg 77.3 mph using AliExpress 3816 gold cnc. Temps not over 102 f I’m Charging now changed to 3819 red AliExpress high rake. We’ll see what we’ll see. Chasing big b’s 84 mph I love this little rigger so smooth and silent. Just back now 4th run 3819 80 mph 3 passes only but no temps over 35 Celsius under 100 f. I’m flabbergasted. 4019 red high rake AliExpress prop next day I get time.
Oh Man Oh Man that is crazy the turn fin also gives you somewhat of a brake too. so don't hit a tree LOL
Getting ready to get a new Transmitter. What do you like/use. Thanks for your time,

Torque roll! Smaller prop maybe more pitch.
