The star citizen game dev Matt Sherman stated January 23 2016 at 1:30 pm that the 890 jump is Not A Curse ship or a Curse liner. The 890 jump is an exploration ship or Exploration Yatch. If you dis agree look for the thread called" Why do people keep calling the 890 Jump cruise liner? cruise liner and yacht different types of ships" in the star citizen 890 jump threads. I have proff Cig's Matt Sherman stated the 890 jump not a cruise liner.
I say, why not both! It can act as both a cruise liner and an exploration ship. Take a crew of your favorite friends and journey across the cosmos. Every cruise is a little adventure in and of itself!
I have starting looking in to my 890 recently again when I found out how good it is at carrying ground vehicles including the Nova Tank!! I think the cargo hold will get some snub fighters and the hanger will get a something like a my super hornet.
With the 600i rework they should make left front seat in the cockpit can fly the ship too like carrack because the pilot seat right now is too far from the front and it feels bad
Given all of the reviews you have done it would be great to see a spreadsheet on the ships that scored the highest in your rankings. Love the review, I am going to get a 600i as my next ship hoping the rework is completed soon!
I have the 600i with a CCU chain to the BMM that's not activated. Love the 600i for its power and solability. But now have others in the fleet that I'll solo more and when the BMM comes in I want an Alien Capital/Flag ship
I'm the same. My 400i is my daily driver, and I love my 600i Explorer, it's the flagship of my fleet and my main ship when I'm grouped up with friends. The 890 jump is a beautiful ship but it's far bigger than I would ever really need on a regular basis. I already hardly take out my 600i except on weekends. But if we hit a point where I have ridiculous amounts of Store Credit built up... I'd probably try and win an F5 war for the Phoenix Emerald before an 890.
Once they get the passenger contracts in game and if you can use them for that you can make good money with them without having to really go into much risk definitely if you’re transporting vips
I don't really use either. Especially with the Nursa and T3 beds allowing respawn. The 890J is okay as a tank, but...more often than not the pools kill you, or the elevators don't render in, among other issues. You can get some chess sets and a checkers board off of it.
Also, the 890 Jump is getting the Kodiak AC Point Defense System used for the Javelin or the Idris, a military defense system. You can find that information in the 890 jump brochure. Oh let's not forget the blade and computer it comes with the 890 jump. After all the 890 Jump was also sold as a solo ship and if you don't believe in the 890 jump spectrum thread look for a title like "890 Solo? by backer Jengo or Why the 890 Jump is probably the best capital ship for low crew count maybe solo" I give proof in that thread the 890 jump is a solo ship.
@@sigilofgremory9671 First off the 890 Jump is listed as a Captial class ship I recommend reading the shipyard Technical Information matrix because according to the Cig own ship matrix and CIG game devs, Captial class ships will not be easy to destroy. Secondly, after reading your comment do you agree with me as a 7k backer known as Blackdreamhunk of Star Citizen that the 890 jump does not live up to its advertising on Cig's own original concept page for the 890 jump stating quote" Vanduul inbound? Pirate Cutlasses on an attack vector? Trouble with local customs? It’s their funeral. The 890 Jump isn’t just a beautiful silhouette; it comes factory-equipped with a lethal array of defensive and offensive weaponry powerful enough to take on anything the enemy can bring to bear. Boarders will think twice when finding themselves facing off against five turrets, two missile launchers and a pair of point defense batteries. And every weapon and component is a top-of-the-line design from a selection of the galaxy’s best manufacturers. Every approach is covered, and the central bridge can transition the ship from peaceful cruiser to raining hell in mere seconds. "?
I used all that easy cargo money from 3.22, to pick up an 890J and if I’m honest it’s a hangar queen I’ve only pulled a couple of times ever. The 600i is just so much more practical for gameplay, and what’s not to love with the 2953 BIS paint job.. what every playboy in the verse needs!
Congrats on your pickup, that’s putting those salvaging dollars to good use! And I completely agree, it’s just too impractical at least in the current game to regularly take out. But I’m really looking forward to when we’re finally incentivized to use larger ships more permanently (maybe after Pyro?). And the BIS skin is so good, a fantastic compliment to an already sexy ship!
I never realized how much I’d like Origin until I gave them a fair shake! While a bit pricey, I’ve been loving the 600i. Although nothing wrong with flying something a little rougher around the edges haha!
I wouldn't want either if they were free...well they are if you know how. The 890J is a garish, ugly reminder of what was, the 600i is a Hairdresser/Nail bar of a ship, the window views are well 7ft up, and all that plastic is hilarious, two eyesores that we could do without.
@@ViciDeum Im a more indulgent player as opposed to emotionally invested. For instance, if im going exploring i like to have a ship that has great window/seated views, luxury interior and gives a sense of worth, and although not perfect, the Phoenix does just that.....not that im going to sit around looking out the window for any length of time. Origin are Ok!, yet even the 499i has windows that are 6ft up, Origin exteriors are adequate, yet headache inducing inside. Each to their own, i care nothing for spec/stats, if it flies and i have a good time doing it, its a keeper. Kudos

I bought both.... cause that's what a baller would do.
When in doubt, always a good call. And congrats on your pickups!
Lol nice. I have neither but made it to SpaceMarshal with other irresponsible decisions.
Or spend 25k and get an Exec Edition "free" 😅
That's also pretty baller 😎
Thank you for not directly talking trash on us Corsair owners, although the slight was felt.
If I were to pick any Origin ship it'd be the 400i. It's really the only one that I like the looks of.
Nothing wrong with the 400i, it’s got arguably the best design in Star Citizen!
Owned a 400i,loved it tbh pleasure to fly tbh, 890j is actually nice too but damn it's soooo big. Think 600 will be my snatch up at some point tbh

Yeah I’m between the 890 and Polaris for my mobile base

I got 400i and 600i in my collection. If they sometime sell 890 with LTI again, its a buy for me🥳

I need an 890J to justify the parking spaces I need in my hangar and a 600i to actually use
Both are awesome in their own right. I won’t get either for real money but love both.

I like 'em both! Would love to see 890J variants
Oh, an 890J variant would be awesome; even just splitting this base into a Touring and adding an even more focussed exploration version!
Can you show me where the 890 jump was originally sold as a transport ship in the pledge promise or the Chairman's letter at 28 million?
i should give the 600i a try after this comparison :)
Best variant of 600i is the Executive Edition 😉
No objection here!
Funny how you praise the 600i on every comparrison over the 890 jump... yet in the end its only 1 point difference

Even when fully crewed and having pds, I don't think the 890 is gonna be a significant threat. It will be annoying as sin to kill though.

Nice quiet flex on the named 890 bro.
Or was that the 600i??
I had one named Big Ship Energy and I upgraded itttt
Haha, it was actually a community members ship they named for me! It was a fun ship to fly but way too sluggish to consider personally.

as a poor feller...i'll settle for the 400i :P
Absolutely nothing wrong with that, the 400i is a great ship and I think one of the best looking in game!
I prefer the 890 jump for my Sexy Star Parties.

600i everyday for me. 🍾🍾🍾
Neither. I'd choose Astrid instead ;)

If Origins is so bad why did Cig create the origin line? Why did Cig sell the 890 jump for $600
US dollars and now $950USTHAT IS useless or bad?
Thanks for free fly this week i dont like it at all i wont buy it
The free fly is an awesome way to try before you buy, and will be here for the foreseeable future if you want to revisit it at any point!
