My theory was/is that each vehicle that comes into town has at least 1 occupant that is a reincarnation of one of the sacrificed kids. It's the trick the parents got, they get to live forever sacrifing their children over and over again. It popped into my head when I noticed that some of the monsters seem to communicate with the same characters regularly. Like the waitress going after the guy in the bus nightly, the way the cowboy and woman spoke with Fatma outside of the postoffice also seemed different somehow, and the way the one that got let into colony house spoke to the boy before she killed him, it didn't sound romantic and how she acted afterwards was odd. It just all seems to have a different vibe to me. Anyone who is not a reincarnated sacrifice that ends up in the town is game for any of the monsters to get, but the parents of the kids target those souls specifically. I started secound guessing this theory, but when it was confirmed at the end of S3 that Jade had seen visions of his past incarnation it clicked that this theory could still be a thing. *bonus theory: When all of the souls have been killed in the cycle, the monsters take on a new form which is why they all look to be from the late 60s/early 70s. They took on the appearance of people in the town when the last cycle was completed and Viktor was so traumatized he has forgotten that he knew the people the monsters now appear as.
