yeah prismatic skate seems like the good one cause you need blink and grapple and if possible ascension to get further so yeah only doable on prismatic
I've played both prismatic hunter and warlock. I main hunter but I cannot get past how powerful prismatic warlock is without even having to try. I put together a build on the warlock using feed the void and helion with the lightning grenade, incinerator snap, phoenix dive for quick cooldown, using witherhoard and the arc auto rifle from vespers host with jolting feedback. The build thrives with enemy density and high health targets. Any time there's a champion surrounded by other enemies, all I have to do is hit it with witherhoard and the abilities and just start shooting with the auto rifle. Champions die quickly while filling up close to half of my super each. Everything in this build works together flawlessly to a point where it's actually annoying. All of this plus apotheosis and star eater with nova bomb makes this build work for boss damage as well. All I want is for bungie to add some more aspect options for all classes for some new builds. I want to see tempest strike for hunter so we have a slide melee to use with withering blade for multiple charges, and I want to see knock 'em down for the combination that would come from that. Playing warlock prismatic made me realize just how underwhelming it is to use prismatic hunter in its current state.
@@buxd2 Shatter dive would be soooo useless on hunter with the prismatic kit outside of movement. Wintershroud at least is great in the combo build and helps in dodge recharge.
This has got to be one of the most fun movement techs in the game, definitely because of the complexity + ceiling. Thanks for including notes on how to practice for us movement addicts
Not sure if anyone’s looked into this yet, but on prismatic hunter, you get infinite ascension when you use golden gun… now I’ve done some testing and casting a super after the skate causes you to lose your momentum, and casting it after the sword swap makes you lose eager edge. But if there were a way to activate the super either without losing momentum or cancelling eager edge, the potential would be insane
This would be very hard to find a place to pull off if u even can, but maybe some how if u used the ignitions refund ah shit u can’t bc it’s not on prismatic lol. Its just a way to get more shots and u kinda need dragons breath maybe they will someday put all supers on prismatic
Seeing Blink in not just a good movement tech, but one of the potentially best movement techs in the game makes me exceedingly happy. Also, something to note, high mobility doesn’t increase your blink distance but rather increases your base jump height. So that clip there does technically send you higher up, but that's not from the Blink, that is from your base jump just being higher. It is still a good thing to have higher mobility for this movement tech as it allows you to get your dodges back faster, but it wont be helping you with any of the blink distance.
I used to think the same shit but trust me when I say it’s a lot easier than it seems. Took me 10 mins max to learn shatter and well skate. Give it a shot

Technically since the main tech used here is eager edge transfer, I'd call it SlingshotSkating/Slingskating as you have to pull back the sling(transfer EE to grapple) of your slingshot to enhance the launch of the projectile(Hunter going at Mach 10)
There was this weird glitch with ascension and gyrfalcon hauberk that lets you recharge ascension back to back. You'll need an ally to give you a reserve overshield, and since ascension does not consume it, you keep the 500% recharge rate. But I think Bungie patched it. Worth trying though!
Cool tech, unfortunately the only thing that i could really see this being used for is chamber of suffering on the hunter role for pit, just changing the grapple melee for the orb melee. Everything else would just end up being slower because of the set up time and loadouts for prior/upcoming encounters. Might be useful in some strike/mission speeds but idk. All of the current raids/dungeons are so optimized that there isn't much wiggle room for change. Other than speeds, I think it is a great option for movement that doesn't require stasis. Keep it up.
it’s an expensive skate though because it spends a grapple if you don’t want to sacrifice time using a nav before each one, but this is still so awesome! This will save massive time in so many raid transition, just a shame that it’s not spammable. Amazing find
referencing your race against the well warlock, i noticed two things. first off he is taking a much less optimal route for speed, and he is using a dares of eternity sword (from what i could see) when a vortex frame is faster. on top of that wellskating does have a max distance before it slows down due to the nature of heat rises if you use it, so it also isn’t practical in that scenario as well. not talking down on the new hunter skate at all, it just caught my attention when i watched that clip and saw a suboptimal line on the warlock’s part. that being said, cool tech cant wait to see how speedrunners use it, what first comes to mind is the entrance of dsc

This was the footage I could get at the time. I'm looking forward to seeing what people end up doing with it
If you are having troubles landing the skate, if you take the sword out first, then just blink and swap off while you are in the blink animation, it works just as well

It'll be interesting to see how this works out in speedruns, since skating isn't even used for big gaps all the time, getting to avoid setup with shatter or well is very useful, and wellskate lets you play on one of the best subclasses anyway, granted prismatic hunter is still good anyway

I thought mobility only affects the first jump every guardian has, that’s why on other blink tech videos they say low mobility is nice so you have less time to get back onto the floor when doing horizontal blinks
Yes, agility only improves your base jump height (the ground jump when you first press spacebar), but since the skate can gain altitude, you should run more agility. Not saying it isn’t possible without max mobility, but it does make it easier since it’ll increase the window to do the skate.
this is actually just my main setup anyways so i wont have to change anything when i want to do a skate anymore (everyone always hates on blink for some reason and i really dont know why)
Needs a name that describes what you need to perform it. Well sake needs well, shatter skate needs shatter dive. You need Blink, Ascension, and Grapple. This identifies hunter with strand grapple, arc ascension and blink. So how about BAG skate?
Nahhh this feels weird i watch your movement tech vids as a background noise while doing raids and didn't notice i was legit playing kf with you earlier today and also yesterday
I think everyone is correct about the name not being adequate. I have some suggestions 1) simply call it an Eager Transfer. This potentially could be applied to other things someday and therefore could be a broader means of skating. 2) EBGA skate. Pronounced ebb-guh, it's simply an acronym for the actions in sequence for the tech: Eager, Blink, Grapple, Ascension. I think it's very unlikely that anything could be confused with it so this helps keep the terminology distinct.
high mobility should only change how far vertically you can blink, since blink is mostly momentum-based and high mobility would make you jump higher and faster. although you're probably on high mobility on prism hunter anyway :p
prismatic skate would probably be a better name because grapple implies it's possible on base strand too
This makes sense
But it still relies on grapple, so just call it Prismatic Grapple Skate

I vote that it should be called coyote skate.
prism skating is a really cool one i think
Can also be done on prismatic warlock so I’d say “prism skate”
Edit: using lightning sure, not grapple obv
Sling Skate sounds good
Warlocks punching the air rn
this is actually just my main setup anyways so i wont have to change anything when i want to do a skate anymore (everyone always hates on blink for some reason and i really dont know why)
Let's goooooo much respect
I think heart of inmost light with The Sixth Coyote will be great
We flying now?
We flying now
Needs a name that describes what you need to perform it.
Lol hey man
@@insanegamer3003 also kinda sry for today's kf the ppl in there just made me lose faith in ever finishing
@@ace_fi yeah sorry about that.
As long as bungie doesn't cuck us yet again, this could be the new movement standard in destiny 2 speedrunning. This is actually revolutionary.
I think everyone is correct about the name not being adequate. I have some suggestions
1) simply call it an Eager Transfer. This potentially could be applied to other things someday and therefore could be a broader means of skating.
2) EBGA skate. Pronounced ebb-guh, it's simply an acronym for the actions in sequence for the tech: Eager, Blink, Grapple, Ascension. I think it's very unlikely that anything could be confused with it so this helps keep the terminology distinct.
wouldn’t it be ebb-guh sounding
EBGA skating doesn’t sound bad
@Illseeyoutmrw yes, I was tired when I typed that
PEAK DESTINY IS NOW
practiced this for one hour finaly hit my first defenetly worth it tons of fun!!!
That's great!
@insanegamer3003 ty havent made it spawn yet at cistern though but go very close
high mobility should only change how far vertically you can blink, since blink is mostly momentum-based and high mobility would make you jump higher and faster. although you're probably on high mobility on prism hunter anyway :p
The Spider-Man Slide
Ascension, Blink, Grapple (ABG). So the ABG skate.
there is another “grapple skate” that is more similar to a warlock snapskate slide cancel, so this one should be called “Blink Skate.”
Hmmm...will try this out!
