Dating them back to only the 50s doesn't explain the visions of people in Civil War and pilgrim attire, the old age of the church and the aged smaller village found in S3. It would be better to try and explain why the monsters and town took the form of the 50s, even though they are much older.

And whatever the writers make up is what's going to happen

My theory was/is that each vehicle that comes into town has at least 1 occupant that is a reincarnation of one of the sacrificed kids. It's the trick the parents got, they get to live forever sacrifing their children over and over again. It popped into my head when I noticed that some of the monsters seem to communicate with the same characters regularly. Like the waitress going after the guy in the bus nightly, the way the cowboy and woman spoke with Fatma outside of the postoffice also seemed different somehow, and the way the one that got let into colony house spoke to the boy before she killed him, it didn't sound romantic and how she acted afterwards was odd. It just all seems to have a different vibe to me. Anyone who is not a reincarnated sacrifice that ends up in the town is game for any of the monsters to get, but the parents of the kids target those souls specifically. I started secound guessing this theory, but when it was confirmed at the end of S3 that Jade had seen visions of his past incarnation it clicked that this theory could still be a thing. *bonus theory: When all of the souls have been killed in the cycle, the monsters take on a new form which is why they all look to be from the late 60s/early 70s. They took on the appearance of people in the town when the last cycle was completed and Viktor was so traumatized he has forgotten that he knew the people the monsters now appear as.

I don't think Boyd wanted to go to the well. Nor get a deadly infection, which caused a chain of events which cost several people's their lives.

Nice thoughts, thanks for making this video. I believe you are correct with the subconscious aspect of the trees guiding characters to their desired destination. My theory is that the pocket dimension is the home of the Garden of Eden, where all desires are granted. However, since the corruption of man ( and the sacrifice of the children) the garden was also tainted. Anything spoken aloud/discussed by the characters seems to come true in some way, including fears (Sarah’s brother Nathan).

Could it be the skeleton remains are the civil war soldier and the other dead guy that drank from the skull? They have similarities in terms of cloudy eyes as Julie, Marielle and Randall when the possession began.

I think the totem poles are gonna be a new/different sort of Talisman, or maybe work to the same effect.. Maybe even the people who made the talismans made the totems too. The talismans weren’t found til Boyd came and on the grand timeline thats really not long ago at all. I think the people there long long ago, maybe even centuries, used the totems to keep the creatures or something else away, and we will see that through flashbacks, and they will learn how to use them. Maybe they keep out a different type of evil we haven’t seen yet too. But the people long ago had to have found something to help ward off the creatures/evil.. Theres no way for hundreds of years it was just havoc and bloodbaths and hiding, there was definitely a cycle that discovered or created a different type of talisman. If they were for something sinister or unlock something, I think that would have been hinted at a little at least, since they hint at everything even stuff they don’t plan to explain.. Holding out on them this season I think they will be found to be helpful in the coming season(s)
