I had a staffie as a kid she was there before I was born from the day I came home from the hospital she never left my side. I had a such a special bond with her apparently I used to occasionally nap with her in her bed lol she truly was a nanny a dog me and my siblings doted on her even now we all say she was my dog but in truth she had a special bond with her if I ever got another dog it would be a staffie
no it's not true not even the British staffie 😂😂😂 stop spreading lies online. a quick Google search would tell you that you're spreading false information.
I could turn around and call Labradors a true nanny dog because they literally get trained to be service dogs which nannying would be classed as a service. my lab treated me like a puppy too, doesn't mean she's a fricking nanny.

No, but certain breeds are far far more prone, not all of them big breeds either. I wouldn't leave my baby in attended with any size dog, even a teacup breed could rip out a new norms throat in seconds
That's the BIG LIE. Breeding and instincts are more POWERFUL than "how you bring up dog". All dogs have instincts bred for generations. Pits bred to attack without warning, maul relentlessly with tail wagging, and kill. NEVER meant for families...and NOT SAFE.
I remember when my Diamond saw my nephew crying over a dropped hotdog. She ran to him, stared at him for a second then licked his face twice. The boy stopped crying and they both walked off to the other kids. She was truly a nanny dog. My girl was the best!
When I was pregnant with my daughter, almost 45 years ago, the dog we had did the same thing. Dogs can hear the baby in the womb, her heartbeat, they can even smell her scent. When we brought her home, the first thing I did was squat so he could sniff her. As soon as he smelled her, his tail was wagging like he was meeting an old friend! He was very protective & wouldn't let anyone that wasn't family into the bedroom. He would lay right across the doorway. He was a big, black Labrador mix. Someone you wouldn't wanna mess with!! They can sense good & bad vibes!!! Pitbulls were known as the Nanny Dog because back in the 20's, they had them to watch over the children, like Petey of the Little Rascals fame. My son has 3 of them, the mom & 2 of her puppies, along with his 2 kids now 3 & 6. The 2 youngest were of a litter born in the home when my grandson was almost 2. So they're growing up with the kids. You have great dogs! ❤Good luck!!! My daughter has a other of the puppies & a 10 yr. old cat,. My other son has 2 Beagles & a German Shepherd. They had a cat, but she passed. All my grandkids have grown up with dogs & other pets.
Yep Nanny dogs, that is what they were used for, protection, people forge with all the dog fighting, these dogs do that and bond heavily, they wil be agrssive outside a family if people do not naturalise them to it, they need a lot of people around, otherwise good luck getting near that baby, nanny dogs.
@@raintree3383 the environment and they way a dog was trained is what causes what you are talking about, but breed has nothing to do with it. Problem pitbulls have is for years/decades nearly every dog attack from a mixed breed or unknown breed get labeled as a pitbull or pit/mix. Something else never brought up in dog attacks in the news is what was happening in the days or weeks prior to the attack as dogs rarely just run loose attacking random people for no reason. Thank god nova’s parents aren’t the type of people that get rid of their dog when they have a baby. And they let their human daughter by nova. What a good boy. Loves his sister
@@mikamikan1079 WHY? Why would you “get rid” of a dog bc you have a child I’d love to know?! I’ve been raised around animals my whole life, I was taught how to be kind to animals respect their feelings don’t pull on their ears, don’t ride them, don’t pull out their tail or poke their eyes period. Both generations of my family members are dog lovers. My Dad passed away when I was eight we were given his favorite dog a basset hound named Snoozer VanWinkle bc he slept all the time, we loved that dog and when Snooze past my sister and I both got bassets. Mine was a “gentle watcher” in almost every picture of my granddaughter from baby to toddler to first grade she can be seen somewhere close by… I’m telling you all of this bc “you don’t get a dog to get rid of, you get it for it’s whole life period”! And obviously you don’t care for animals especially dogs and should never 👎 have a dog! People who don’t like animals are missing a chip somewhere my Mother always said watch how a man treats his Mother and his Animals, if they treat them badly or careless, move on! I’ve found it to be 100% correct.
A well trained dog becomes a child’s best friend! Obviously, nobody should leave their newborn alone with a dog, but there is absolutely zero reason why anyone would get rid of their dog when they have children!
So are cats, if you want to get technical. So are ALL domesticated animals. They ALL still have certain wild, primal instincts (beating and shaking their toys, chasing smaller animals, pack rules, dominance/submission.) Just as we have our fight or flight responses, starvation mode, etc. I have a 25 pound pug who would chew your bum off, while this monster of a mush ball is curious. Yes, they are aware it’s a dog. So you’re saying all animals shouldn’t be around babies then, correct? Or just pitts due to ignorance and improper education and information regarding them and all dogs alike.
Cats in the wild have a similar pack like lions. The dominant male impregnates the females and if he finds offsprings that are not his , he kills them. The only difference is that the dominant male cat does not stick around to protect the pack like male lions do.
What a wonderful family. It's so heartening to see that the dogs are very much part of the household and are dearly loved. Too many people discard their dogs when the babies come.
My son is now turning 9. I still have to sniff him everyday. Love that smell aswel. Hehe. Wish they never grew out of it. He startin to get stinky n sweaty tho. So imma keep sniffin him til he an adult n the smell full go away. Hehe.
Babies give off the same “new & helpless” scent all baby animals do. That’s why dogs are soo extremely protective and gentle after the first sniff & meeting the new baby. It’s very instinctual.
No not all animals have maternal instincts. Which is why so many babies are killed in dog attacks. Just on the news today a baby was killed. Not all animals of course. Just like with people animals get stressed too.. People need to look at the stress signs of their dog and stop forcing these interactions. Many need to be educated on warning signs and how to work through the stress and or jealousy or just rehome the pup for all safety. That's like folk saying to strangers my dog doesn't bite
@@1jazzyphae very true. Obviously people need to truely KNOW their dog and understand their body language. Everyone knows interactions need to be carefully supervised.

Before I could move, both of my sleeping Dachshund's were there by my side, looking scared to death and licking me to death. The oldest one is deaf and almost completely blind; he was the FIRST ONE THERE. Amazing sense of everything, our pet's/animals have. My son, was pissed I woke him up, but, glad it wasn't his Mom, who fell. Gonna get rid of the humans and get some more dog's. My family got a pit given to us when I was seven. I was a lonely kid for the most part and that dog filled in as my one best friend. Had him for 13 years. He got to see me grow from a kid, to a teen, to an adult and even at the end he was super loyal to my mom who was his favorite person and who he was instantly attached to from the start. Of all the funerals of siblings and other family I've gone too, that dog was the only one to make me cry, and I'm a person who NEVER CRIES it was just hard to let go of such a major part of my life and I was the one to bury him. I cannot wait to have my own kids so they can experience this happiness I had growing up.
I am so sorry for your loss sweetheart. People lose site in the fact that their animals but they still have a soul in a personality that attaches us to them just like any human being. It never stops us from hurting when they depart from us. I will tell you I try not to cry ever in front of people, I feel it shows a sign of weakness in me, but only because horrible things that happened to me growing up, so I had to be tough. I had no choice but to suck up the pain and tuck all the feelings away for lack of a better way of wording that. In my mind tough was my only option that existed because the other options were still to this day worse. So no crying, especially in front of people was one of my things. It still is, but I regret it because my three adult children has now picked it up and they hide those emotions as well. I never meant for them to pick it up and I didn't think they were until it was too late and I saw it. I didn't have a choice I had to be that way but they picked it up from me still being that way and I never even consciously knew it. I said all that to say, sir your video made me tear up so bad. It would not have mattered if the dead queen was sitting in this room, I would have teared up period. I'm glad you had that special of a best friend when you felt like you were a lonely kid. I'm glad, and I'd say you're pretty grateful yourself that they got to be your best friend when you were a lonely kid, then watch you blossom into a teen, and then ultimately watch you turn into a grown man that stands on his own two feet. Whether people realize it or not your dog probably felt like a proud parent of you. Your story really touch me and resonated with me so thank you for sharing it. I know you have to be vulnerable at times to share and that's hard as well. So from the bottom of my heart thank you and your family both for taking your best friend in, and then you sharing their story as well. @@jamaicafox A dog is way more dangerous to a baby they’re not made to feel like is part of the pack. This is simple logic, you should absolutely supervise your baby with any animal of course but you need to show them the baby and let them interact so they see it as a new pack member. This goes for cats as well. Not doing it would be stupid because then they don’t know what this new creature is, just that it’s loud and steals all your attention.

It saddens me that people forget the pits were originally called "nanny dogs" because of how loving, attentive, and protective they are. Both are so sweet. Hopefully a long life to their friendship.
@@Grandcathedral "The four Pitbull type breeds are the American Pitbull Terrier, the American Staffordshire Terrier, the Staffordshire Bull Terrier and the American Bully. In its home country of England, the Staffordshire Bull Terrier is nicknamed the "nanny dog," such is its reputation as a child's playmate and guardian. Despite his fierce appearance, this dog is a lover, not a fighter. The breed is gentle, docile, and always on the look out for fun." Lots more info on the American Kennel Club site and other reputable research sites if you wish to look. Yes the breed ancestors and its early years were used for war, hunting, bull baiting, and later illegal pit fights, but it was also used in the 1800s as a guard and playmate for children. Sorry, I'm a history nerd and it really surprises me through centuries how the gentle pets today were used (and even when THEY first stopped being used for primary jobs , they were seen as dangerous/vicious heck some still today). Did you know some shepherd breeds and mastiffs were used during mideval times in war carrying pots of tar or hot oil at troops or even had special made armor? It very interesting.

Nova is a very open and gentle dog. There is no question that dogs hear our heart beating when they are in close contact with us. It's the same thing with the baby. He hears the heartbeat. I believe when introduced to the baby that Nova knew that little heartbeat had joined the world.
It's amazing how sweet pittbupls are. It's true that there are aggressive pit bulls (either because the owner wants an aggressive dog or because the owner doesn't have the ability to handle a particular dog), but I've seen thousands of pit bulls that just looked into their eyes and inspired you with sweetness. As a non-expert, I feel like saying that they are one of the most sensitive and attached breeds to human friends, but then I don't need to say it, look at how the child looks, look at his eyes. Incredibly sweet 😀
The top biters in the dog world are… the Dalmatian, the chihuahuas, the Pomeranian, and the dachshund. Put bulls rank way down the list but are stigmatized because of dog fighting and their size. Foolishness for sure as every pitty I’ve ever known was a love bug.
@@saragrant9749 - such a stupid comment. Those dogs might bite but they will LET GO. Pitbulls and pit mixes do not. They will maul until their prey is dead.

Please be careful tho, having small kids round dogs. I am 100% pro dog, and I think that bully breeds are unfairly maligned, but even just this last week a baby was killed by a dog in my country. So just never put the dog or the child in that position.
I was thinking something similiar. This is not good animal handling. It has nothing to do with good or bad dogs, great dogs with no history of violence have killed babies and small children that triggered their prey drive. Especially when they are very excited, it just takes one mistake. I love big dogs and I would not be comfortable recreating this scenario.
If you're from the UK you're probably talking about this one. The Daily Mail article: "Merseyside Police said that officers destroyed the dog and are currently investigating whether the animal was an illegal breed under the Dangerous Dogs Act 1991. They are also trying to track down the dog’s previous owner, they announced at a press conference outside the home. Locals claimed the animal was either a Staffordshire Bull Terrier or Pitbull Terrier." I'm apt to believe them. Once again a child loses their life. These poor parents probably watched channels like this one. The channels that refuse to include in their videos any sort of warning about the possible dangers of these dogs. To anybody who's going to use the standard response "it's not the dog's fault it's the owner's fault," please don't. My answer to that is simple dogs of all breeds have had bad owners, and yet pitbulls still remain far ahead of the competition for the most fatalities caused by a dog attack. Google it, pitbulls account for almost half of all fatal attacks by dogs.
@@rexrobo2512 More than half unfortunately, 76% of fatal dog attacks are from pitbulls. And the other 24% account for 360 dog breeds combined. That's a staggering red flag!
@@rexrobo2512 locals claims aren’t definitive proof of the breed. Many people mix up breeds and many mastiff crosses look like bully breeds. It’s impossible to know until the police publish the info. And pitbulls are actually on the list of banned breeds in the UK, only certain bulldog and bull terrier breeds are allowed including the much maligned staffie, which interestingly is one of only two breeds the RSPCA and Kennel Club list as suitable for families with young children. But you’re right, many TH-cam channels don’t give fair representation of dogs unpleasant or dangerous traits. Fact is, dogs shouldn’t be left around any vulnerable people. Just last year in the UK and 80 year old woman was killed by three dogs. And now this poor baby.

I have a 25 pound pug who would chew your bum off, while this monster of a mush ball is curious.

No not all animals have maternal instincts. Which is why so many babies are killed in dog attacks. Just on the news today a baby was killed. Not all animals of course. Just like with people animals get stressed too.. People need to look at the stress signs of their dog and stop forcing these interactions.
@@trystkinkou5542 There’s only one pit bull and that’s the American Pit Bull Terrier . When English Staff (England) and the Irish dogs known as the Old Family (Ireland) were imported to America. Those dogs were bred together to create the Pit Bull and Chauncey Bennett (United kennel Club) register them as the American Pit Bull terrier in 1898
That’s a myth
@@Jenjen2021 but it's not a myth.
When baby's happy, Nova kisses dad, "You did it! Good job" So sweet!
Those big excited eyes of his when he was sniffing her. SO cute
Lmao that’s the best 🎉😆🐕
Thank you for not docking his gorgeous ears and tail! So precious!
My golden retriever did the same thing when I was pregnant. When we brought her home he had to be near her all the time. He would sleep under her crib in our room, and have to be near her always. He would fall asleep with his head in my lap when I breastfed and rocked her to sleep…they are amazing animals! He was her best friend for years!
Pitties are angels.
Oh really? You're not the least bit concerned about having this unpredictable dog around babies and young children?
@@Goldenowl66 Pit bulls are called nannys in the late 20s and are used to keep children safe from pedophiles.
until they disfigure your child, but ya right up until then they are angels.
What a lucky little girl. She gets to be a Daddy's girl and momma's baby girl PLUS she has her big pupper siblings. They'll always protect her and love her. This is one lucky little girl.
until you google search pit attacks newborn, then not so much.
Affirms all the stuff about dogs being family pets and especially family oriented. What a wonderful relationship your family has with the dogs and the dogs have with you. It's a blessing!
All children should have a dog to grow up with. It teaches them compassion and caring....plus they are always tons of fun...

Not a Pitt bill. They can turn on you in a second.

Nova is such a beautiful dog.
that was the most sweet video of a pittie being his best self, the love shown is amazing! :)
Beautiful story of pure love and profound understanding by both the parents and the dogs.
Nova is so loving and gentle with ur tiny dog and ur precious baby! Thanks so much for sharing this with us!
Precious! So good to show how sweet Pitties can be with the right loving family .Beautiful.

Nova is a very open and gentle dog. There is no question that dogs hear our heart beating when they are in close contact with us. It's the same thing with the baby. He hears the heartbeat. I believe when introduced to the baby that Nova knew that little heartbeat had joined the world.
Nova doesn’t disappoint. Very sweet puppy with a nice name. And the little Liliana is a very beautiful baby. Congratulations!
Beautiful...may God bless your entire family
It's amazing how sweet pittbupls are. It's true that there are aggressive pit bulls (either because the owner wants an aggressive dog or because the owner doesn't have the ability to handle a particular dog), but I've seen thousands of pit bulls that just looked into their eyes and inspired you with sweetness. As a non-expert, I feel like saying that they are one of the most sensitive and attached breeds to human friends, but then I don't need to say it, look at how the child looks, look at his eyes. Incredibly sweet 😀
It is literally America's dog. The breeds name is american pitbull terrier, my more people need to learn to accept their greatness
@@ImmaSpam__________________Can Pitbulls are not "literally America's dog". Jesus some of you are so misinformed.
Nope, they'll turn on you in a sec.
It's obvious he's so loved and adored just from the never ending good traits his mum lists☺☺
TOTAL ADORABLENESS! Blessings to you all!
Beautiful dog and Beautiful baby congratulations 🎊 👏 💐
So wonderful to see a pittie being raised with love and thus being able to return it
Those precious moments.............words escape me. Such a wonderful thing to see and be part of.
Besties for life!! Nova was like "I've been waiting for you!". What a sweetheart!!
He looks and acts exactly like my mom's dog, Bo with their baby chicks!!! He'll gently love them but he's a giant grey pit just being careful as can be around them, Adorable!!!
This the way my grand daughters brindle pittie has been with here since she was born! She's 10 now and he's her protector.
The Daily Mail article:
"Merseyside Police said that officers destroyed the dog and are currently investigating whether the animal was an illegal breed under the Dangerous Dogs Act 1991. They are also trying to track down the dog’s previous owner, they announced at a press conference outside the home. Locals claimed the animal was either a Staffordshire Bull Terrier or Pitbull Terrier."
I'm apt to believe them.
@@queenkoi I agree. But then, I wouldn't let any animal - dog, cat, rabbit, whatever- in a newborn's face. Geez, come on....
Feeling love no matter what shape and size the lover is makes life worth living.
Animals have sooo much love to give
