I love love love your channel. Your style and way of eating is so wholesome and easy that it inspires me every time I watch you. I tend to over complicate meals and you show that one just needs to make things simple. Thank you, thank you!

Hi Chels. I'm a compulsive picker too! My hands constantly want to graze over my skin and pick at any tiny bump. What really helped me was getting diagnosed with ADHD (inattentive) and using fidget toys more. I realised that my picking was a way I was fidgeting as a stim and a way to discharge excess hyperactivity energy. If I don't have something else in my hand, I will literally use my own body as a fidget toy! Now, I keep lots of fidgets around the house and if I catch myself picking, I will immediately grab a fidget toy. My skin is doing a lot better. Still not perfect, since I still pick a bit, but much less than before.

My usual travel is to family weddings. It's like a family reunion each time. I always travel with individual serving sizes of oatmeal, protein powder, dried fruit, nuts, and my favourite teabags. Usually there is a vegan meal on the menu (though probably has lots of oil in it). If i am able i will run into a supermarket and pick up a salad and fresh fruit. Sometimes the food choices aren't great, but i know when i get home things will be back to normal.

I’m traveling right now with my Mom in Sedona AZ. We’re from LA area. We stopped in Phoenix on the drive here for groceries at Sam’s Club and Walmart. I’ve been eating clean all week and adding in 1 alcoholic beverage per day on average. It helps that the resort is like a condo and has a full kitchen, stove, fridge etc. anywho, I’m really proud of myself for being consistent and working in the splurges when I can afford it calorie-wise.

I also keep with soy, and always come back to it, even though non-organic might have negative impacts (health and environment) because it improves my satiety. like 20 kcal for 100 ml of almond milk, which is like 2% almonds no way fills someone up. To me, it is about nourishing. For example, when I have a piece of cake and a latte outside in a café if I have it with soy I feel so much better than with other milks. Pea protein milk is very hard to find.
Your channel is going in a good direction, I. really appreciate it.
Love to see meal inspo from you, with all the potatoes, tofu, coffee, talks and empowerment

That's a genius plane snack, I really wanted some roasted veggies with dip while you were having it
I have a similar problem with touching my face but on my forehead, when I go to move my hair -- and then it's really annoying I'll get acne spots right in that one area (like I can't have freshly cleaned hands 24/7!) Anyway, I have started to double cleanse, which is using an oil based cleanser rinsing that off, followed by a water-based one. I recommend Farmacy Green Clean if you can't find a good one (it's a balm) it's lasted me over a year, I use it once a day if you're trying to factor in cost 😊

I really like traveling with roasted nori sheets I use for making sushi. I got this tip from Dr. Greger but it's light weight and nutrient dense. I pair it with sweet potatoes and it's a nice combo of sweet and savory.

Hi Chelsea, just watching your video now and omg I have the same issue with picking at my skin, I have started adding more skin care to my daily routine but I get a lot of breakouts too and end up picking at them usually without noticing. One thing that helps when my skin is getting worse from picking at is is to put “tattoo second skin” on it, I bought the smaller roll on amazon and I put it on top of the parts of my face that are bad, it helps with healing and I end up not picking at it when the second skin is on! Also I am using a cleanser, some retinol and vitamin C serums to help with my hyperpigmentation and a moisturizer with SPF 30 or 50. I am seeing a few improvements!

I got back into reading this year as well and now I always have a book I'm reading through. I find it fun to track them on Goodreads.
The housemaid series really got me back into reading. You should give it a read! I also love reading when walking on the treadmill! I hope your recovery going well.

Fellow picker, here! I also pick my fingers around my fingernails. Anxiety is fun 😩 but it is what it is!
I keep my nails super short, sometimes go to the nail salon (nothing fancy. No polish or gels. Literally just to cut everything and make my hand handshakable lol) and for my face, at night when I wash I only let light in from the hallway - so I can see just enough of what I’m doing rather than all the things I wanna pick. 🤷🏾 it works for the most part. And I don’t have bright light in ny face when I’m trying to get to sleep 😂
Oh yeah! And my fave on the go snacks are carrots, cucumber, strawberries, a nut and dried fruit mix, and I love triscuits too.

Thanks for another great video 🙏🏼
I love to see that you actually go out and have food in a restaurant. I know what you mean about eating out all the time, but as long as you are eating a healthy diet at home, I don’t think it matters if you eating out once in a while. You also have to live your life, and not be too restrictive. So thanks again for showing that you are human.
And by the way, I have a habit of always picking my hair and scalp when I’m bored 😅

I wrote this comment in the pod I was listening to, but it was too long. I know it has nothing to do with this video, but I wanted to post it.
I was a LWP member, and I got down to my goal weight , but I continued to lose weight. I am 4' 11", and my goal weight was 100 lbs. I continued to lose weight and was getting worried going under 100 lbs, so I started adding higher calorie foods to my diet . I was already eating a lot of potatoes, rice and some pasta with a 50/50 plate with vegetables. I started eating more processed foods like Ives veggie burgers with a bun and Just egg products with toast to try to stop losing weight. My coach commented on the prosseced food, but since I was in maintenance, that it might be ok. I wasn't given an alternative, but then I didn't ask for one either. I now understand that I should have added more starch like edamame, tofu, beans, and legumes. Now that I realized this, I have kept my weight off for a year. The things I learned that have made the most impact on my system is to take food with me when I go out, which is almost always sweet potato with raw veggies and hummus. And to keep your environment free of processed food.
Thank you, Chelsea and Lean, with plants

Chelsea, try using a 2% BHA solution from a brand like Paula’s Choice( they are well known and recognized) or even from a K beauty brand like Cosrx(whatever is easily available in NZ). The BHA will help purge your pores and hopefully clear out the blackheads. Use a moisturizer in the area if you find your skin getting dry. And of course, always use sunscreen ❤

If we are at a location for more than one day, we go to the supermarket first and at least have healthy options...veg and hummus and low sugar fruits at least. We also travel with soy jerky and "healthier" snacks as traveling with whole food is difficult (maybe other than apples) as we often do one bag travel. We plan financially and health wise to only do 1 meal out/day...admittedly the meals out are not always the healthiest choices (we always try to share 1 dish and get a salad). It's all about balance.

  • @janiegulick5674
    @janiegulick5674 27 วันที่ผ่านมา

Wow, there’s sooooo much in this video. It seems you handled the traveling like a champion. I like that you allowed for some eating out and treats without a guilt trip. Yes it’s different, even sometimes difficult to be out of the home environment, but you’re right, having a plan makes things so much easier and being flexible are key.
I wish I could exclusively have soy milk, it’s is one of my favorites. Unfortunately I need to limit soy to once a day or I’ll end up with a nasty rash in and around my mouth. I love my air fried tofu in the afternoon or maybe so tofu pudding at night. I’ve learned my lesson!,

At restaurants also it never hurts to ask. There are often times when something is not on the menu but I ask if they can do it and they say yes (for example I ordered a hummus appetizer which was just hummus, pita, and some diced pepper on the menu but asked if they could add a side of broccoli and side of broccoli was not even on the menu but they did it!).

    Ty for sharing Chelsea!
I wanted to ask if you have any suggestions or recommendations of videos or readings that I could use to further my understanding about soy products. I am scared of using soy bc of info I was told years ago. I would like scientific proof, on a level that I can understand, lol, not just somebody's opinion.. if someone can help...I would be most appreciative 😊
I meant to also comment on the fact that I appreciate the the way that you include Nick and show us glimpses of him when you video. Ty again for sharing 😊

Hello Chelsea I was thinking too much soy in your diet will cause some people to breakout really bad around the mouth, my daughter had that problem so soon as she cut back on her soy intake her skin would clear up so that could be why you breakout sometimes around your mouth, love your content it has helped me a lot on my vegan journey 🙂
