Hello there! Please could you let me know if you have the original, unedited match footage, or where I might be able to find it? I was a ball-boy for this match (please refer to comments below) and I'm searching for an incident that occurred between Serena and myself. Many thanks in anticipation for your help.
I flew to Rio as an Olympics Volunteer and was one of the ball boys in this match. Lower left corner, so unfortunately not within the camera field of view. It was extremely windy and gusty, and we had issues passing the balls to each other successfully. Serena got pretty frustrated at one point, but I've yet to find a clip of the unedited first set. A great experience, I'd definitely do it again!
@@KetanSharmatron Hello, thanks for your comment! I'm not sure exactly, I think a few games in. That's the one little detail that I can't recall. I think it was 2-2 or 3-2 or something like that but I can't be certain.
Agree! It is slow as hell. And Serena had to play players who are known for retrieving like Cornet, Svitolina, Gavrilova so it made it even worse. Like double disadvantage for Serena.
@Some One Tennis courts differ in how fast the ball bounces off the court. Clay courts are the slowest since the clay absorbs most of the bounce. Grass courts are usually fastest and the ball skids off the court. In the case of hard courts, there are a wide variety of speeds. Some hard courts like the US Open hard courts allow the ball to bounce off the court faster. The Olympics 2016 hard court shown here is incredibly slow. Kind of almost to the level of clay. That is why you see Serena's power and shotmaking kind of neutralized. She had to hit harder and go for the lines to get the ball thru her opponent.
Super hard fought. Dasha crumbled mentally at middle of second set because she couldn’t impose her game with all her multi-timings and off pace balls. Serena simply wasn’t frustrated enough by it. Still, a very well played match. Serena rallied, angled, served, volleyed, and returned incredibly well. Just brutal angles. I think I like her best when she plays her angle game like here and in 2010. Her spin game is aesthetically pleasing in 2013 though. Her current power game is not so fun to watch.
Tennis IQ would tell you that hard courts vary in speed and bounce in regards to how hard you hit a shot or how much spin you add.. These courts played like clay
Tournament organisers should stop making slow as hell hard courts lmao Singapore, Rio, Indian Wells lol If it isn't as fast as Standford we dont want it !LOL
I to this day wish Serena would have skipped this Olympics or withdrew after this match. She would have won the US Open and stayed number one. We probably would have got to 26 and she would have retired.
Daria’s defensive skills really put Serena to the test here. Williams had to go through 3 very defensive-esque style players and we all know she HATES these kinds of players..

That's great. Do you know when in the 1st set this happened? If we find the full 1st set, we'd probably have to watch all of Serena's service games 😅.

The surface was so slow.. It was worse than clay.
I swear I thought It was just me. That has to be the slowest court ever in tennis history.
I didn’t know this existed. What great performances from both players!
That 30 Hit Rally They Did Was Amazing Tennis 🎾
Great match, Serena as usual. You are the best player ever in history. Congrats 🥳🥳🥳
The court was similar to surface at the Miami Open and the old rebound ace at the Australian Open... Plus, it was very windy that day
I didn't like this court it seemed so south Compton back yardish to me. The slowest hard court i've seen. That's why Serena didn't do well there.

chrisak49 none of this matters considering Serena was injured.
Man, this court looks slow as hell, .. what they thinking
Serena looks beautiful and played really well. Congratulations. 😍🖤💙
The body
The Speed
The power
The accuracy. Can we get a cup full of each🙌#24
This surface was similar to the courts in Miami at a Crandon Park... The problem was the it was super windy
3:57 some slice.
Good match. I love Serena outfit
If I can notice a court speed from the TV, it's either incredibly fast or slow. I remember thinking this court was worse than clay.
Clay is not a bad surface
Dam Daria is speedy especially going to her forehand
Great match Serena 👍
Daria is so good from behind

serena the QUEEN!!!
Why don't you show all the match from round one to the final
She didn’t make it to the final in this olympics
Love the new dresses Serena is wearing very becoming
Serena Williams #GOAT
The court looks strangely slow and bouncy.
Could you upload Radwanska vs Kvitova Wta Finals final 2015 please? :)
Beautiful
Serena👍👍❤️
I'm new at tennis terms What does GOAT mean?
greatest of all time
These were like the worst courts ever! Omg :-/
Tennis IQ would tell you that hard courts vary in speed and bounce in regards to how hard you hit a shot or how much spin you add.. These courts played like clay
Venus vs Flipkens Rio R1 please I will love you long time
I know Serena did not like this court i aint like it Either
Dasha needs a Garnier gig or something...the most bouncy hair in tennis
Very Slow courts make tennis difficult to watch.
Me too, i dont like this court. It’s too dull and it does not look world class. The environment is feels so blank and depressed.
I knew Serena was injured when she came out in her next match without her braids.
At first I was thought SERENA won't be able to defenced her Gold medal ..her outfit was beyond beauty but she looks struggled on something ...😪
She had a shoulder injury as well as pain in her left knee. Her serve and movement were totally gone in this tournament.
The Worst Court i have ever seen in my entire life
Tournament organisers should stop making slow as hell hard courts lmao
Singapore, Rio, Indian Wells lol
If it isn't as fast as Standford we dont want it !LOL
Indian Wells has always been slow. I don’t mind slow hard courts, but now there is no variety.
@@JCole-fg3rr true
Also the new one in shenzhen
I think Indian wells the altitude has something to do with it but agree with the rest
This court was so ridiculously slow that it spoilt the quality of tennis!!! A clay court is faster than this #AbsoluteBullshit
a cara da Serena de quem amou jogar nessa quadra mais lenta do que saibro kkkk
wow i love serena here
All new and upcoming players looks like a champion until they are standing next to a real champion.
I to this day wish Serena would have skipped this Olympics or withdrew after this match. She would have won the US Open and stayed number one. We probably would have got to 26 and she would have retired.
What a slow court!!! I wonder what Wozniacki was doing to not get a medal.

and all three are crafty as well. She always struggles against those type of players as well. Andreescu at the USO also gave her a lot of trouble
