Putintseva played some really impressive tennis in this match strategically. Serena may have been dealing with an injury, but really had to dig deep to win this match. Clearly she found another level in that 3rd Set. Great sportsmanship at the end from both players.
One of the toughest match of Serena. Putintseva really played her best tennis. I always think top players like especially Serena and Venus don't give their 100% till it isn't needed. I have watched some matches where these sisters were nearby defeat and came back with a spirt at crucial stage.
She won the first set and made all that hullabaloo, you would think she won the game - lol. I just love it when they win the first set and think they are going to win the game. Not against Serena, the COMEBACK QUEEN!!!

AO and FO 2016 were her golden chances for 24th and 25th slams but she already started to fail in the finals and 2018/2019 was the continuation. She lost 6 of last 8 finals. 2017 was also golden opportunity but she left by her own decision.

RG 2016 was such a mess, cold weather throughout the whole tournament which led to a messy schedule and Serena had to play 4 consecutive days (R4, QF, SF & F) without a rest, add to that she was slightly injured in her thigh and also Muguruza always peaks against Serena.
