I think there’s a distinction between fantasy and reality in your personal attraction standards. Just like your average male probably find swim models to be highly attractive, it doesn’t mean they assess the people in their personal lives with those same standards and expectations.
But at the same time I think a number of male/female fans diverge in how they express that online, with male-centric communities usually focusing more on the physical attraction and not going to far as to fantasize about their hypothetical compatibility as people, their lifestyles, etc. which I feel female-centric fandoms do more openly.
Which is an interesting topic itself, I think men who take too much interest in female celebrities are seen as creepy and immature and definitely some sort of red flag.
Inversely, the obsessions of female fandoms who often have presences on major social media platforms are more accepted, or at the very least people are willing to equate it to some quirky hobby that can’t be helped.

Who didn’t see this coming? A lot of ladies do what TV/pop media says. The owners do whatever it takes to men who could be a threat if they had a good base, to neuter them and make sure they seem as an unattractive threat. Im older so everything reminds me of a story: I’m going through a phase of building my man cave and myself. I go out sparingly but one time there was a trainer and her friend from my old gym(current at the time). The trainer was one of these chicks that messed up her marriage but got everything(big ol nice Tundra that a working man WOULD drive.) to include kids she’s messing up and still HAD to get a job. The friend made the play to say “you and my friend should date”. I was super not interested because of the details but I said “Women don’t like me because I say things they don’t like to hear”. “Like what?”she inquired. I said “like no and I’m not gonna”. I expected laughter but they both recoiled like hissing demons presented with holy water. Preferences aren't real. Women don't know what they like, want, desire, or prefer because they lack agency and will typically choose the exact opposite of what they really want. It's why when you ask out a woman and she says no you should just try a different approach and the second time she usually says yes.
