  • Audrey Jacobs, a master matchmaker in work, life and love, challenges us to think how an introduction we make or receive can change our lives. Through her hilarious stories of making romantic and career matches at work or at home in “Audrey’s Tent”, she inspires us to join the 'ecosystem of connection' where everyone is a matchmaker. Audrey pushes us to ask for matches to achieve our goals and make matches to help others achieve theirs. Making matches will change people’s lives and give our life meaning.
You can follow Audrey on her blog at: / crowdfunddiva , FB: Audrey.Jacobs613, LinkedIn: Audrey Jacobs, Twitter: @crowdfunddiva. Visit Audrey’s Tent at: www.jewcer.org/project/audreystent/.
Audrey Jacobs is a 6th generation Texan and single mother to three sons. When she was 17, she wrote her personal mission statement: “To be a catalyst for positive change by educating and inspiring individuals and communities.” For the last 30 years, she’s been a catalyst by matching people to ignite their love, dreams, and professions. Today she is one of the founding partners of OurCrowd, Israel’s venture capital investment platform which has matched 25,000 investors from 112 countries to invest $750 million into 160 technology startups. Audrey is also the founder of “Audrey’s Tent,” inspired by Abraham’s biblical tent where she gathers wandering Jews to her home to find community, spirituality and love. She’s helps thousands of people find jobs, friends and hobbies and has six marriages she matched. Beyond her role as a mom and matchmaker, Audrey's also a writer, runner, dancer, storyteller and world traveler. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at www.ted.com/tedx

I'm amazed that this video has only 6 comments. Or maybe I'm not. People in my area USA say that they're too afraid to lose a friend if a date doesn't work out. After many years of looking at how people meet, I've decided that I'm done with meeting people for myself and I'm only going meet people through a matchmaker. The ads I see online are so off-putting because they say that they are for elite and hard working people. I'm disabled and never worked. I've searched the web for days and sent out emails with very few responses. Matchmakers seem to be very difficult to find and even more difficult to talk to.
