Okay, I hope you didn't really think I was going to get political with you 😉. Any polls/topics that you want me to cover in the future? Let me know in the comments. Coming up next, another guitar solo lesson! 🎸
PDX Guitar Freak gets my vote for greatest rock guitar instructor of all time! My reference standard for not just accurate but tight lead covers. Many thanks for what you do for others/me. 🤘
You're the best PDX We're all in this together no matter who you voted for, and as the Great Dave meniketti sang, "Rock and roll is gonna save the world!"
Thanks man! This is as close as I will likely ever come to talking politics here. I have family and friends on both sides of the political spectrum (granted they aren't parts of the extreme far ends LOL). We may have differences in some areas, but the common denominators keep us glued together. Around here, it's music! :)
yes 90125! very interesting you mention it... nowhere is there any instruction in youtube land. i really enjoyed the results of your polls... i also cast my vote to PDXguitarfreak for the best how to videos from the classics of the 1970s and 1980s. thanks for everything you do....keep rocking cheers from providence!
Best guitar tutorials on TH-cam! So glad I found this channel. If there’s such thing as a request line more Guns and Roses solos would be great! Been trying to learn the rocket queen solo for a while but can’t quite figure out the “fast” part. Thanks!

I’m gonna be selfish and ask for you to cover: Song ‘Heavy Metal’ aka, taking a ride by Don Felder Song Chiquita by Aerosmith Love your channel and Happy New Year!
As far as I'm concerned Charvel and Jackson are the same. I have 30+ Charvels and Jacksons. I have more Jacksons, but love them both equally. I would put my neck thru 550XL and 650XL and set neck 750XL Charvels up against any neck thru Jackson, USA or MIJ. I would put up my bolt on Jacksons up against any Charvel bolt on.
Yeah I pretty much agree. The distinctions have become less and less over the years... and my opinion that Charvel is more the "super-Strat" brand is certainly biased by history too. Rock on.
I used medium picks when I first started... just because that is what someone gave me. I don't recall when I transitioned to heavy picks, but I think it was by accident. That is, I picked up someone else's pick (no pun intended) and I liked how it felt :)
LOL yeah, I've gotten a lot of requests for that one. My issue is that I will only do a lesson if I'm 99% sure of what I'm teaching (and will always call out that 1%), because I will never be one of those guys that just teaches to bad tabs they find out there. Every time I go back to look at 5150, I think to myself "okay, 90% of it is super clear to me," so it's really that other 10% that I'm cautious of. I hope that makes sense. Maybe some day :)
@PDXguitarfreak I appreciate you saying that,,,good humility. But from what I've seen in you're videos you're interpretations (better than all the books because I've got all the VH 🍒 lane / WB tab books) are the gold standard by far !! You're explanations on the moves and such, you're as close to what we hear on the record. So I'll go with you're guesses over printed numbers in tab. Great Channel 🎼🎵🎶 🏆 Instructor guru...P.S. how about a look at old Rush solos, notably III. Return Of The Prince on The Necromancer from the album Caress Of Steel 💫

Thank you! As for 90125, I have one lesson from that album on my TH-cam channel and it's the solo from Owner of a Broken Heart :)

Warren DeMartini !!!!
Thanks for the great content here !!!

Surprised how close Lynch and DeMartini was. I love em both but Lynch is the man
Please do a tutorial on scorpions "still loving you" solo, I stucm at this one and your tutorials are very helpful

Love your channel and Happy New Year!
Ahh yes, I have another long time subscriber here on TH-cam that has been asking for HM for years :) Happy New Year!

and I think the thin pick is a part of the brown sound too...
Certainly could be!
@@PDXguitarfreak playing a tuned down guitar with a thick pick would seem like violence to me!
I was on the verge of ditching you forever!!! Glad to see you keeping politics to yourself....
I would never actually go political on TH-cam... that's a sure fire way of scaring off folks :)
I vote for . . . BEHS
I am missing what the acronym is :)
@@PDXguitarfreak Danny Sapko has a thick accent and says behs instead of bass.
if you use 9's, how could you use a medium or heavy pick?
I used medium picks when I first started... just because that is what someone gave me. I don't recall when I transitioned to heavy picks, but I think it was by accident. That is, I picked up someone else's pick (no pun intended) and I liked how it felt :)
I voted for ''5150'' multiple times...to no avail 🚫

@PDXguitarfreak Maybe do it in sections? 1 Intro...2 Verse...3 Solo etc?
