How should we customize the headlights? 🤔

- The vision from the beginning has been to lengthen the car by customizing the headlights and taillights. Today we're going to start figuring out how we want to extend the headlights and how far we want them to be extended. We have a junked car out back that we may slice and dice to get what we need...

Nate is a very quiet man who has the ability to just work along and come up with great solutions and just gets her done . A real bonus to the operation .
@@rolfbrunner3016 It does get a little tedious watching Chad run back and forth like a chicken with his head cut off, doesn't it?
I too would like to see more of what Nate does.
@@donaldhalls2189 Of course. It's Chad's channel, right? Still... why are we here? To watch Chad scurry about, or to watch the progress of the build? If Chad were sitting in a rocker knitting, would we watch? No. Whether or not it's his channel, the focus should be on the build itself. I'm here to learn stuff, not to be a 'fan boy' and watch Chad. Aren't you?
Nathan needs to start his own channel. He is a real knowledgeable fabricator. It would be interesting. I would watch. Chad talked a little about what Nathan was building and said he liked to go fast. Ronnie.
I’m done, such bad taste, I can’t watch anymore, I’m unsubscribing
Hi and happy new year from Australia 🇦🇺, I so glad you two don’t listen too much too the negativity by a few, and do your own thing. It’s educational, entertaining and an always watch daily. And great with Douglass and Nathan doing interesting and entertaining works an interaction with all 4 of you. I have a Red Healer the same size as Fina, a fabulous addition to your family and show. See you in Aus ❤✌️🇨🇦
Exactly
The haters probably can't even tack weld, let alone build a fully custom sled.
Less is usually more.... Personally I prefer the shoebox shape and in my opinion, adding doodahs like extended tail lights and headlights is going to do nothing for this build.
I have ended up liking the roof chop (despite my earlier misgivings) and if it were me I would have stopped there and concentrated on getting the body ready for a really nice paint job.
I totally agree with you. I'm still reeling from the extended tail lights, which look like add-ons. Frenched headlights with eye brows, or just eyebrows.
Big Daddy Ed Roth built unusual vehicles that were one of a kind, that showcased his talent. Chad's makeovers look like Add-Ons with no purpose to enhance the cars he works on. Kind of like Johnny Cash's Cadillac with all the mismatched parts in his song.
@@maxyearwood1085 Well, I'm not saying what you are saying. I'm only addressing the taillights. And it's just my belly button opinion. Overall, I think Chad has amazing vision and a great sense of converting his vision into reality. Like it or not.
How many custom cars have you created?
Shoebox where dowdy to start with..but a good platform to customise. In my humble opinion.
Love it when Jolene shifts the camera slightly away from the action to see what Fina is doing. Very sweet.
@@rolfbrunner3016Nate should go get his own show then
A bit painful to watch at times
The headlights need to stay the same looks good the way it is
Show us your builds or even one!
Nate's window work is a lot harder than it looks! Nice......
I'm a bit lost for words. The chop was very well done in my opinion (built hot rods in the '70s), but these extensions are taking the look towards bizarre? Never ever did I think Triumph GT6 bonnet parts would be used on any car like this. I hope all you joint efforts will work out, but it is hard to see for me at the moment.
Man a simple chop, lowered, nice set of wheels and a nice clean paintjob is all you needed 🤦🏻♂️ lol
Since you’re customizing the tail lights and headlights I would cut the center raised section out of the green hood and graft it into the center of the ford hood. Looks like it would blend in fine. You could it out and lay it on the ford to see how it looked before grafting it on.
The shoebox build can officially be named Dolly Parton.
Rethink the headlight extensions...the taillights were bad enough.
As I said before, the chop looked OK.....I'll repeat , the chop looks OK !
Yup French them in.
Smooth rounded look.
I usually like most of what Chad does and when I don't I at least can see what he was thinking. Unfortunately the headlights will look ridiculous. Once chopped and dropped the front of the car looked cool. Adding those bug eyed headlights makes it look clownish to me. A cool grill with a low profile bumper would be awesome.
Oh well, like Chad says, it only has to look good to him.
I see those headlights being cool, love them
Chad is trying to make what his belly button says. THAT'S a good thing!!! Some of you are criticizing him for doing unusual things that to cars. Well, that's what CHAD is known for so leave him alone. Other customize-rs can do what you guys are suggesting. CHAD is SPECIAL creating something different out of Scrape parts with at very little to build. KEEP UP YOUR ORIGINALITY CHAD....YOUR ONE OF A KIND❣💯
Sniffing to much resin!!!
I am in the uk and I don’t drive because of a medical issue but I love cars. I have seen many car building programs but I like watching what you do the most. I feel like you really live and breathe what you do and have genuine talent for working on the cars and design. I love this car so far. And great to see Jolene really engaging in what you do too. Keep it up
Amazed at your vision and that you can see the result before you start!
This car is turning out badass! Before you chopped it, I didn't think it would look this "mean". It's sick! I respect the hell out of your style of building. Ive learned a shitload watching your troubleshooting! Kentucky, USA.
I quite like the art deco idea for the taillights. Freaking radd
Fabricate a cool grill for it.
I watched a video, “51 Ford, Jay Leno Garage.” Two things struck me about the $100,000+ build: They used the same interior shifter linkage Nate made for the T-bird, and they pancaked the hood and the roof, to give it longer, sleek look. Very nice!
The small details make custom cars
Leave well enough alone!
Chad and his crew are hard working people with a positive outlook on life ; the best type of humans !😎
It's a shame doing that to a nice old ford like that old man ford would be mad at that
GOOD JOB EVERYONE!
Good to see Doug back with the team, although he’s lost his sence of humour so maybe not feeling 100% yet. Nate’s doing a killer job on the windows. Headlights are going to tie in with the taillights and look cool.
Dude weld yourself up a table for working or welding smaller things like tabs on headlight extensions. For the love of God that was painful at times. Car is looking good can’t wait for the end result
Why? Just why?
Because it’s his and he can. I enjoy his videos.
The camera work is awesome. Its like she's nosey curious about what he is doing just like us...lol. great work Jolene!
Extending the headlights to hood point reminds me of the ugly Studebaker front end .
Love the tail lights but the headlight extension is just not doing it for me. Love it just the way they are.
The new garage door looks awesome way to go guys
Needs an electric garage door opener. Go new school.
Headlights are way to far out they screw up the flow I think you should have frenched them to get a reverse flow. But I’ll keep watching👍
That looks like a toads eyeballs sticking out when you step on it
Don’t let your headlights DROOP! Keep a straight line from tail light to headlight
Thanks for all the work team
Great work Jolene,Chad ,Nathan, Doug, love the show, very educational and easy to follow for beginners like my self, 💯🤙
Now I am NOT a hater, in fact the tail lights are growing on me. So far I do not care for the head lights idea. But I will see what Chad comes up with. Jolene thank you for your outstanding covering the build.
Good evening Jolene and chad,I hope you’re having a wonderful day and thank you for all your hard work Jolene making and sharing chad and the crew’s amazing work
You can. Put. That. Middle. Part. That. On. Green. Hide. Put. On. Your. Car. As. A. Hide. Scup
It’s going to look like an elephant sat on the roof and the lights squirted out 😅
That man needs a workbench
Tail lights look good. Just need another set below those !
Whatever you decide will be cool 😎 Go for it Chad 👁 🐅 👌
lake side pipe's would look great also
I am not sure who is running this operation...I am thinking Jolene, with Fina as an assistant!
Just looked at the backend line and tails. One thing for sure the car is stretching out. So I like the head light idea. With the front of the cars hood coming forward to a point. Six inches like Jolene said looks good to counter the front end. I could speculate but no less than six. Could be slightly more and it wouldn't hurt. The headlight itself should add a little more length. I understand about the chrome and all I would really like to see is that you repair and restore the chrome as much as possible. With a new paint job this car really does demand the chrome to be as good as you can get it. ** My husband who has done mill and factory work says you really should get a work bench so you're not struggling on the floor so much. I think it is a good idea. Take good care.
Really needs eyelashes added to the headlights
I Read this today , almost as Chad said it Make it your ambition to lead a quiet life, to mind your own business and to work with your hands . 1st Thessalonians chapter 4 verse 11. I'm amazed what Chad can build, and looks great when it's finished
Chad wants opinion on the headlight customization but goes ahead and does this instead before the opinions come in. Why bother asking. Yesterday I suggested 56 Ford headlight rings. I don't think he can read.
Never knows when to quit
That looks BAD. YUCK!!!!
Throughout your freestyling as I go, kinda flow.came out a bad?ss car design . Makes perfect sense to"" Use what you got ,When your making what you want .
I like the way the headlights are the same distance as the front of the bonnet, just have to wait for the sheet metal finishes. Good job by all. Thanks for the video.
Awesome! Very creative and innovated.
Thinking the raised center portion of the GT6 hood transfered to the center of hood on the 50, would be a addition to the look of car.
OH, NO😮!
The “ I have bigger plans for the cutting wheel but I’m not going to show you” was so funny!!
Oh yeah you definitely bumped your head and knocked something loose if you think that's gonna look better than the stock headlights. You need your head examined dude. You're taking some junk headlights and deleting an iconic front end with it. That ones not going to age well I promise you that. I can't believe you're friends let you make such horrible decisions without better guidance lol get it together man I was really hoping to see this car turn out nice as I love what you did with the tail lights... Don't be afraid to spend some money on some good hot rod Cragers and a nice grill and bumpers!!! Please stop putting old hubcaps on everything you build. I'm hoping and praying this turns out better than what you're trying to do with it so for the love of God do not destroy that beautiful body of a car
You poor thing
I know that's right@@cajuncreator
Chad: *extends tail lights 3 inches*
Internet: "Are you crazy? Why are you doing that? Nobody extends those!"
Chad: *extends headlights 6 inches*
Internet: *clutches pearls and shits pants*
Pushed the roof down so much that the lights bulged out!!!!
Looking at the front of the car it looks like the roof is lower on the drivers side
This is turning into mess.
I personally can't wait to see the tail extension. Something with similar lines to the bike hauler.
We all just need to remember that this chads vision and when is finished we will be amazed at how much the car changed and how cool it will look I love the way the car stance and the roof line 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Now. That’s. The. Way. Love it. Thanks
Sorry the car is starting to look like the Tin Man
I am enjoying this build !!
I would like to see a 50's style grill built of cabinet door knobs
I feel it might be nice to build the tails lights in to the bottom of the car so the don't stick out so much! You could taper them in to the body at the bottom so they look like they are part of the car body just a thought take it or leave it!!
Put the rear bumper on to get true view of the rear.
What about a doubled taillight?
You got all you need at your neighbours place in the woods.
Parallel or at an angle of 90° underneath the extended one.
Why would you want those head lamp covers NG
I like it. Wonder what it would look like with the bump from the green hood put onto the ford hood?
Hi Chad. Just a thought. The donor hood has a good looking buldge on it. How about considering fitting it on the 50's hood. Won't be that much work and could give a more aggressive look. Maybe worth a try to test fit it.
To all, keep up all the fantastic video, designs, repairs and builds. Having fun is important in every show. It is great to see chad using items around for parts, keeping the purchasing down to a minimal, so Don't let it come to a grinding halt.
Hey bad chad….it’s just me ! Just another dude with a belly button. I can’t turn my head away from this show. The work you do is mesmerizing to watch. Even when it hurts. Am I a fan? Why hell yes!… I watch the vids for comic relief. I love the way you began this build with that fancy chalkboard design drawing. By then I knew this shoebox was going to be a keeper… along with your other collector custom cars. (ie the bike hauler with the strange louvers on the deck lid. )
But you are the man who owns the garage, the car, and all of the grinders and cut off wheels! It’s your show. And you can do whatever you want to deplete the dwindling supply of good usable custom car material out there. So let the haters moan and grown. It’s obvious you don’t listen to them anyway!
So Happy New Year to you all up there in the Great Frozen North East.! No cars were destroyed making these comments.
looking good thus far I got a feeling I know what else your gonna do to the car it involves the hood.
Is this a movie prop for the next CARS 🚘 movie?
Looks like the car was kicked in the honey hard enough to make it eye balls pop out I see on TV they have a medicine that helps bulging eyes, just rub the whole headlight dow and throw some in the tank.just graft some later model dodge neon lay back headlights on her.any model that lays back
Stick the headlights out a foot or so
Why does he act like he's in such a damn hurry all the time. ?
Also Joelene, brilliant camera action, and great editing✌️🇦🇺🇨🇦
Poor Doug he should be home taking care of that cold!
It's looking very cool,,yall really work good together,, and miss Jolene is awesome on the camera
Headlights PROTRUDE TOOOO FAR ABOUT HALF WOULD LOOK BETTER !!
Why ask ppl how you should do somthing it will only cause friction if you don't use an idea or you do it your way after reading others ideas
Wldnt extend head lights recess yes but hey it's yours
Hey boys, who thinks that Miss Jolene is hawt? Chad is so lucky to have a beautiful, brainy woman.
And vice versa.
Amo acompanhar esses videos
You all are awesome at what you do. Love watching.
But some things just because you can don't mean you should 😂
Those head lights will look great out the same distance as the centre of hood 👍 .seriously going to be one tough old ford
Hi Jolene Chad Doug and Nathan glad to see you all at work on the Ford. God bless and have a blessed evening and night
Coming along nicely 👌
What, no louvers??????
Just a tip, you can use cat litter for oil dry. Works fine. What happened to the 57 Chevy buckets. Ronnie.
It would have been cool to see you make a show car modding the bumpers and spending a bit on rechroming them. That formula may not wotk at the present moment. Is elvis still around. If i remember right it wasn't far from paint?
I think Elvis left the building….
hi CHAD, Back in the early 80's in Aus we called these SINGLE SPINER'S With the grill center a single round center
I remember when I first figured out that those retractable trouble lights have to be stopped while the six or thereabouts teeth are ‘clicking’ in order to not keep retracting. My brother-in-law worked at a station in the 70s and I thought it was broke because I couldn’t make it grab every time!
Learnt on the last build you cant look at it through an restorers 👁️ im enjoying this journey so far ...😊
Come on guys theres more sirprises coming hold on for the ride 😊👍
That GT6 scoop would look cool on the trunk or the very back of the roof. Would be something different.
French the headlights. They will look great when done. It’s not a bugeye sprite!
