    Thank you for saving it! It’s truly sad to see these plants being neglected.
    Pfft- y’all need to chill in the replies- if you don’t agree then move on with your day my god is it that hard?

      @maureenobrien9815 2 ปีที่แล้ว +119

      Yes. It breaks my heart how neglected they are after they arrive so healthy and gorgeous. Really bothers me. I saved three willow trees from Walmart. They were off in q pile of dying potted plants(sad too) and were at least 6' tall. I gave my neighbor 2 and I kept one and now, a year later they are so healthy and thriving. I hate neglect of living things, across the board.🤬🤬

    • @maureenobrien9815
      @maureenobrien9815 2 ปีที่แล้ว +55

      I bought them, btw. They were in the refuse pile but when I said can I save them they said, yeah, and charged me 5 bucks each which, considering how lovely they would be some day, I paid. Walton family never balks at selling anything. Including from the refuse pile.

    • @andS7

      They should only be sold somewhere the employees get paid to care for these. These stores always got expired products on the shelf you can’t expect them to care for minimum wage.

      Right?!? I head straight for the clearance racks, touch them, talk to them, and the one that tells me that needs the most saving is the one I take home and rescue. Unfortunately I don’t live in an area suitable for the ones I really want nor do I have the funds to rescue them all. Saving one plant at a time

    money trees are found in somewhat more wetland type area, so you arent really supposed to let them dry out that much. for mine, i give it a good amount of water about once a week and mist it throughout since they love more humid and tropical environments

      @@sidthompson9538 I think it’s to stop people from overwatering. Because it’s hard to overwater when it’s living off ice cubes. And it’s less text on a plant label to write “ice cube weekly” than something like “water when dry to ~2in or 50%”

    I have been a farmer for over 40 years, who grows all kind of plants. The one thing I hate about the social media plant enthusiasts is when they give you watering time tables. Especially when it all depends on the infividualʻs climate and location. Maybe if you qualify it with, this time table is based on my situation, for your location it will be different. where I live in Hawaiʻi, we tend to water more frequently because most lucky money plants dries out faster. If I waited one week after it dries out, my plant will already be shutting down and shocked.

    I got send a money tree as a welcoming gift when i moved to scotland. Repotted instantly and noticed the poor things had no root system, all that was left was some dark brown 2 cm long remnants of roots. Most likely has been overwatered. I have seperated them and i seem to have 5 healthy plants. they didnt like the south window, the leaves did turn lime green and some spots did start to turn into yellow, so i moved them to the north window and they seem to love it. Thank you for the watering advice. Even tho i did wait for them to be somewhat dry, i think i still overwatered them. I will now move to letting them dry out and then wait one more week before watering.

    Glad I’d checked.
    I took off the very tight twisty tie at the top, and just put a loose bit of my scrap macrame cord in a cute little bow. It got a slightly larger pot of new soil.

    the condition some of these store bought plants are in is insane. i bought my aloe plant from walmart and when i bought it the soil was soaking wet and growing moss. its amazing it didnt die before i could transplant it into some cactus/succulent soil

    Thank you . I didn’t know the name but my neighbor and I each bought one and mine lost every leaf one by one. The leaves turned yellow and fell off. I repotted and probably over watered. I had it in the bathroom but moved it outside but it never recovered.

    Glad you got it. It’s so cute in the final pots.

    A little tip, cut the feet off old tights and pull them up under the pots, keeps the soil from seeping out into the pot saucers.

    We were given one of these as a gift. I love it, but the first thing I did was give it time to dry out. Then I took off the tie and loosened the trunks from each other (including cutting the rubber band around the roots). It's doing so well. I hope it continues to do well.

    These plants grow in marshy swampy areas. Mine has flourished in my extremely moist bioactive vivarium. I would not let them dry out as stated! Especially a week after noticing they’re already dry 😬.
