***** The power is not everything. I think Kawasaki H2 H2R also will be a legend as supercharged bike on the market. But RC213V-S is not same category. It's extremely close MotoGP bike on the market. Both bikes are great. Rich people should buy them.

Eheh dude I'm actually doing it but if I could afford a bike for that price it would mean I'd be so rich I could spend them way better...I'd probably get a Desmo for that price, prepare it for the track and get some spare motocross and street bikes with the rest of the money :)

What a Beautiful Bike. But lotta negative comments here, seemingly mostly from Brits. The haters are like kids who "poop" on something simply because they cannot have it. I once read a great article - a Ferrari Enzo review in a British "CAR" magazine that was most illuminating about the difference in attitudes between US and UK: when a UK guy sees a Ferrari, they curse the driver; while in US, people give them thumbs up - because in the US, people still genuinely believe in hard work and that given a bit of luck, they can accomplish a lot - and will be able to afford such things one day themselves.
So to my UK colleagues - yes this bike is expensive, but it does worth the price much more than an Ariel, or a reincarnated Brough, or a stupid Ecosse, as every bolt and nut in Honda is fully custom-made and hand-assembled (think - "blueprinted"), hand-adjusted - and yes, it does make it special. Forget about the horse-power, as it is now known that this engine can do more than 230bhp, and those who can afford the bike might bring it up quietly to a proper state of tuning anyways... Yes, you cannot do so with an R1, or 1299, or RSV... As for hating on this bike - only kids or delinquents hate on something because they cannot afford it. Also, only kids or delinquents think that what they own is the absolute best - simply because they own it... Cheers!
Wrong just wrong mate. I always thumbs up Ferrari's ........ this bikes a bit overshadowed now by the new BMW HP4 Race though. now there is an insane bike. cheap as well at £68'000

I've had plenty of Honda's back when. They were great bikes and well priced. BUT Honda always seemed to dabble with "specials " like the CB 1100 R. It cost a lot more than the Katana 1100 but couldn't keep up with it. You had to buy the megabuck "race kit" to make it go. Then there was the VF 1000 R..deja vous ?
How is this compared to Ducati's Desmosidici?

Albeit they are a rare find, I've seen 2014 Kawasaki Moto GP bikes for sale for $54,000. Honda wanted to make a motorcycle that is more of a status symbol than a performance bike.

In typical Honda fashion they bring something that looks like it should be a race car I.e. nsx(old version) everyone in the fan base thinks it's a race car(type r)*new excluded they did it right] or bike repsol 1000 rc45 rc30 vfr 750 but then it falls short of the glory in so many different areas that it begs the question "why even bother?"
CORRECTION: it is put together (assembled) by one person and and fair amount of that is systems already pieced together, like engine fork tubes, brake calipers.
IMO, Honda has good strategy btw, they sell this expensive bike, and the money they get is to improve the GP bike. maybe it's answer the question why Marquez still using 2014 chassis for his bike caused of michelin tire and magnetti mareli ECU in 2016 season. Qatar few days ago Lorenzo lead 1 or 2 seconds from Marc.

I have an RC 45 and enjoy the ride ...and especially the sound....But this RC213V is a bit of a mystery to me...mainly where do you ride it ?......when you fit the power up kit you will never pass any of the riduculous noise limits on UK tracks....and I take it you also lose the headlights for the air intake....so no Road riding with the kit fitted either ?....
So leave it road legal and have the power of a Ten Grand GSXR 1000 ?...

+moriwaki1105 Put it on the track. Can't complain about legality when in essence you have an F1 car for the streets. Throw on the race ECU and run it on the street if you want. Or take it to the track and run it. Point is you have actual GP tech and not watered down overpriced garbage that a manufacturer claims is a GP bike.
If you want a ridiculously expensive bike that feels very unique and racey, get a Suter MMX-500. That's 195hp from a 576cc TWO-STROKE V4, moving just 127kg (280lbs). There's a bike that will genuinely kick an S100RR's teeth in.

Honda RC213V-S is so expensive because it has been derived from the MotoGP version of the bike names RC213V. The track version and the road legal version only has certain differences, which includes the rear view mirrors, side stand, front headlight and the different seat for riding. The power has been limited electronically, which means that the same engine has been used in the road legal version also. Its ultra light weight design, which is 170 kg only is all due to its light carbon fiber parts and skipping the unnecessary parts for riding. The bike has a very powerful engine capable for producing 250+ BHP in its fully functional form, making it a really expensive ride. It also uses the parts manufactured by top performance brands for its brakes, tires and other components.

The MV Agusta F4 RC has like 210-215 hp, destroys the Honda in looks and sound, and costs 1/4th the price. MV F4 RC is king in my books.

Six years later: this is still the ultimate Honda. Ducati may have gotten close with the V4 Superleggera.
For that kind of money I want both bikes in one with a switch on the handle bars that let me flick between track and road mode. Diminishing returns at that kind of money I tell ya.

With choice I would have either the Ducati Superleggera or the BMW HP4 race over this any day. In fact you could buy them both for the same price as this Honda.. and get change for petrol!

I mentioned power because it was in reference to the COST of the bike to a consumer and the fact that the liter bikes available to the public are kicking honda's ass on the track and street as well. The honda does have balance but so does the new R1 as well as the zx10. Go figure

+vidurc Honda making a better street bike than any other machine is purely subjective. But let's see. The CBR600 is not leading the middleweight group in anything street or track. The same can be said about the CBR1K. If you don't believe me just inquire amongst fellow riders or look at all the reviews. Last time honda won bike of the year was way back in 08 b4 the crossplane R1 was introduced the next year. Honda is a solidly built bike but its not above any other bike except maybe the gsrx since Suzuki has been kinda laggin behind just as long as honda has.
Older bikes look 👀 miles better
Honda have always done the same with their race replicas like RC30 & RC45 which were also pitifully underpowered in road going form and need extra parts to get up to standard.
+Trakker Um what? If you ever when knee down you'd understand power isn't what makes you fast, control and responsiveness does. If you've ever ridden and 1990 RC30 or 1986 RC45, they are faster than current crop of race prepped 600cc supersports on the track. They are quicker to turn have a more linear torque curve and outclass most modern sport bikes. Only an idiot would talk about raw hp figures like it's some kind of pissing contest. Get a clue.

200k is unrealistic, a rare and expensive bike like this on the track they are stepping away from great price to performance value bikes a renowned for, might as well get mclaren 650s but if you can afford it by all means have fun

Why is epa regulations attacking Honda?
+Slacin' Ace Not attacking. It's just general EPA restrictions. Honda hasn't homologated the bike for this market. All they've done is taken the race bike and put lights on it. No tuning to lean out the motor or any of that bullshit. In other words its a proper race bike that they've put on the street. And they're giving buyers the ability to open it's power up without any restrictive exhaust.
I wish Motorcycle manufacturers would go back to giving their bikes actual names.
did they look at the front of the race bike and think "oh I can just stick a headlight in that air intake, and because its a rc213 street bike nobody will mention how shit that looks"
