She has a beautiful voice... and mixes the traditional songs- with some modern flair. The traditinal songs take a new spin on life with musicians like this- and keep them in the hearts of not only those back home- but those thousands of miles away. It isnt who does it better- its the fact they DO IT.. and they take it from the islands and share what we all love with the world.. It is heard by millions.. and she is sharing the ALOHA SPIRIT that, is the important part....
One of my favorite songs growing up, and sung by my sister school alumni Tia, from Sacred Hearts Academy. She even went to my school prom (before my time though).

GR8119 Actually her parents where from the Philippines, but she was born in Honolulu Hawaii.
GR8119 No, you're wrong. She is mostly Filipino, despite being born in Hawaii. Both her parents are from the Philipines and she even said herself that her ancestry a mixture of Filipino, Chinese and Spanish.

@oehieze I've heard a LOT worse from more popular "artists." I just went through the samples of one of her CD's in amazon, and I was impressed. Perhaps because I had low expectations, but still. Again, there's a lot worse in the top 40. We could use a little bit of this, instead of the same old bubblegum crap.
