Hypixel's Newest Minigame: Two Months Later (Sheep Wars)

Flufayy becomes Hypixel PR representative.
I've been interested in revisiting this game for a while since my initial visit, but I always had something else planned each week, and this got but on the backburner. Finally giving it that second visit it deserved allowed me to revise my own opinion and figure out exactly how I feel now that it's had time to settle.
Hopefully my takes are semi-good

Scripted Flufayy makes a dramatic reappearance.
So the quality of life update to Sheep Wars happened literally 3 days after I made my first video on the game, and I didn't even know it happened for a while. I was focused on other concepts at the time. Only recently when I started wanting to make an update on Sheep Wars did I notice that my biggest issue with the game was fixed. I think the reception to this was mostly positive, but I definitely saw some takes that it was a bad change and to revert it back. Personally, I prefer the games being shorter, especially if it prevents a major issue in the game, but I do get the idea that a longer game makes for more interesting comebacks and makes the later rounds very investing if you don't have a leaving issue that round. Just wasn't how I felt.
One thing I forgot to mention (purely because I gaslit myself into believing this was always the case while recording) is that picking up sheep now gives it to just you as opposed to your whole team, which I'm slightly more mixed on? I think it's a fine change, not sure if it was necessary though. Overall, I think the game is in a good spot all things considered. We'll just have to see if it has long-term appeal at this point.

Can you talk more about how hypixel shoud update to 1.20/21+, it would give them more options/ability to make stuff, and it is very much possible to re-create 1.8 combat in 1.20+ and they can still allow people to join fron 1.8.
I only typed a little bit about what I have to say on this, I could talk more about this somewhere, I have a loooooot to say about this

i dont think its just that skyblock gets more players that the games die because of it, but more of a loop of the game not being updated, nobody caring about it, so nobody makes videos about it, so less people care, and so the devs update it less and less

For clarity, my point wasn't that Skyblock directly kills those gamemodes. I actually think it's beneficial for the server. My point was that it being by far the server's biggest gamemode means is gets the most time spent on it, which means less updates to other previous games and less new games. It's a risk for them to spend substantial time on a new game that either may fail or that you already know isn't popular enough to justify the investment. Working on Skyblock is always a safer option for them.
You're right that new games absolutely need substantial update support early on. The server needs to commit to those ideas in order for them to be successful. Otherwise you get Wool Wars. I was more against the notion that updating old games (like for example the recent Mega Walls and TNT Games updates) was more important for the server right now than making something new. Those updates should happen, but new games are what the server needed most imo.
