Being a fan of Hermitcraft since season 2, it's heartwarming to see how this community has grown to what it is today and become part of my childhood growing up. The Hermits' dedication to the game is truly inspirational.
I think you didn't talk enough about Xisuma's participation in keeping the server alive at the end of Season 1. He stepped up to fill the void Generikb left behind, becoming server admin.
In my opinion there were three huge changes that impacted the direction of Hermitcraft over the years: 1. The Departure of GenerikB: This very well could have been the server's end if Xisuma had not stepped up to become the server's "leader", guiding it in what was truly its weakest moment. Had Xisuma not not put in the work, we would not have the Hermitcraft we have today. 2. The Migration of Ethoslab and Docm77: This moment was like a passing of the torch for Minecraft's biggest SMP. It almost symbolized the decline of Mindcrack and the rise of Hermitcraft. Etho and Doc brought an influx of fans and a sort-of legitimacy to the Hermitcraft server and proved that Hermitcraft was Mindcrack's true successor. 3. The Addition of Grian: Grian completely changed Hermitcraft when he joined, more so than any other one member had when they joined. He obviously brought a bunch of new fans and he also added detailed storylines, organized groups events, and he really taught other Hermits how to play the game of youtube.

Imagine what would have become of Hermitcraft if Xisuma hadn't taken over from GenerikB (I know X doesn't really see it that way but still. Of course the Hermits made Hermitcraft what it is today together, but X's work at that time especially really paved the way for them I think)
Xisuma stepping up as admin to handle all the server hosting stuff and JoeHills holding a coup by just making a new world and adding all the new season 2 players to the whitelist are the only reason season 2 even happened and you really gotta admire that

Iirc, False was the one who built the pixel art of Shrek as a prank to Mumbo, who built his Ice Spike base in a swamp. I don't really know how the prank started. Mumbo showed it in one of his videos where he revisits all his past Hermitcraft bases

Man i cant imagine watching all that content and then writing a whole documentsry about it, the sheer time commitment is insane! I can see why Evan hasnt been around for a good year or so. The quality on this is truly astounding, and personally I really appreciate the information- im learning all kinds of new things about my favorite server.
I'm really happy seeing someone finally covering the history of hermitcraft without misinformation, unnecessary explain the small dramas too much or try to downplay as if the smp is dying It's only part 1 but you guys really did great covering the 1/3 (or 1/3.5?) of the history with amazing storytelling. Finally!!!! Hermitcraft!!! I started watching at season 7 and haven't watched season 10 yet, so this is really gonna give me some deep lore. Especially since i only watch Grian's vids, occasionally some Mumbo and Scar.
You should do a video/series on Naked and Afraid or No Armor Hardcore. The storytelling and overall vibe fit your style perfectly! I think it would make for a great video!

I wasn't around for the early days of Hermitcraft. Only really started watching Minecraft content in 2020 when the pandemic hit. Still feels weirdly nostalgic to realize TH-camrs I watch like Mumbo Jumbo and others who are in the Life Series like Bdubs and ZombieCleo have pretty much been around since the start of Minecraft TH-cam. Heck, I never watched TinFoilChef and can't help but get emotional whenever he's mentioned or gets a tribute in Hermitcraft related stuff. You can tell how much he meant to the community and how close these guys are as friends. This is why I love Minecraft. It brings people together and can create something beautiful.

Glad to see you again my Multi-Fandom Fiend! *Fun Facts:* BDoubleO and GoodTimesWithScar joined Heritcraft in *Season 4!* Etho and BDubs led a "Civil War" between the OG's of Minecraft and the New Generation. *Season 6* is when Grain, RentheDog? Don't quote me on that! But Season 6 is when a lot of the Shanigains that Hermitcraft is known for all started! *Season 7* is when you started to get the Storylines with everyone! Scar became Mayor and Grian led the Mycelium Resistance. This is where a lot of the Edits and Animatics come from with Scar being the "Mayor Villain." You also have "Shady Eees" that Etho started but it was a funny bit that Etho did. And just like with Scar there are some What Ifs Animatics of Etho becoming the Villain. *Season 8* is when the whole Server Storyline kinda started with the Moon, the Moon Cult, Scar being Scar in trying to "scam" people outta their diamonds with the Swaggon, and just like in Season 7 there are some animatics with Scar being a Villain and joining Evil X. *Season 9* is where the "Red King" comes in to play with Hermitcraft. RentheDog was the Red King in the 3rd Life of the Life Series. And he became the King of Hermitcraft. Grian once again led the Resistance against Ren. And of course, this is the Season where we get the classic "Dynamic Duo" of Hot Guy (Scar) and Cute Guy (Grian). *Season 10* is still ongoing so I haven't had the chance to binge-watch the Creators since I'm literally, binge-watching Ren Season 7, Grian Season 8, and Scar Season 9. I"'m not sure when the "Goatman" DocM77 joined since he is well known for his Restone and outrageous Builds/Security System.
Bdubs didn't join in Season 4, he joined in season 1, then came back in season 5. Rendog joined in hermitcraft season 4. You missed out with the storyline of the civil war in season 6. Docm joined in season 3 as it is said in the video. Grian did not lead a resistance in season 9 he just helped people with them. Also from what I believe Ren the King and the Red King are two completely different characters. I can see you seem passionate about hermitcraft but at least get the facts correct lol.

I started watching Hermitcraft in season 6, and wow, some of these builds are massive and amazing. It's also amazing to see how much the Hermitcraft community has grown since then.
I've always wanted to watch this series but didn't have the time. Seeing how you were able to summarize the dsmp so well, I'm sure you'll do amazing with this as well.
The display of all the hermits on the red sands lacks a very important pair of wide, surprised even, eyes. Was Keralis not active then, despite joining earlier?
Keralis played Seasons 1-3 but became inactive for a few years. He came back to HC near the end of Season 6 and has been back since then. But he wasn't a part of S4 or 5.
Which begs more questions. Was he active on Mindcrack or any other SMP during those seasons, working solo, or did he quit gaming all together. Was he playing other games?
@@sirtainlee8725 Nah he didn't join Mindcrack. He was still a member of HC just inactive. If I remember right he mainly did Ark Survival and City Skylines at the time. And did solo Minecraft videos like Build Showcases. Lots of other hermits at the time like Dmac Slipg8r and Zueljin went down the Ark route too. But Keralis was the only one to come back out of them.
As a mumbo subscriber a headcannon I have for hermitcraft is that all there hermits player are part of that minecraft society that in minecraft lore all turned into endermen but the hermit players are and alternate versions that still went thru minecraft cannon storyline but we’re able to travel to different worlds(Different servers) that will overall allow for each worlds and then players builds to help keep them all safe
I started watching Hermitcraft in season 3 after getting a Tango Tek video recommended to me. My mind was blown seeing all the crazy builds the hermits were doing . I've been watching ever since it's hard to believe it's was so long ago.
I believe In 29:06 Is the man who brought chaos, enjoyment and story building In Hermitcraft The Forshadowed person, Is one of the Original Minecraft TH-camr named *Grian* Also because I didn't see Grian anywhere while EvanMCgaming showed every Current and Future Hermitcraft members (In season 3 Is the current and after season 3 are the future Hermit members) hence proving my point that the foreshadowed player Is Grian

I got into Hermitcraft at the start of Season 9, and while I have seen a few clips and images of earlier seasons, I still know almost nothing about them, so this is really nice to finally find out more about the history of this awesome server. Looking forward to part 2!

After so long, EvamMCGaming is back and with something new..? HERMITCRAFT?!?!
I wasn't around for the early days of Hermitcraft. Only really started watching Minecraft content in 2020 when the pandemic hit. Still feels weirdly nostalgic to realize TH-camrs I watch like Mumbo Jumbo and others who are in the Life Series like Bdubs and ZombieCleo have pretty much been around since the start of Minecraft TH-cam. Heck, I never watched TinFoilChef and can't help but get emotional whenever he's mentioned or gets a tribute in Hermitcraft related stuff. You can tell how much he meant to the community and how close these guys are as friends. This is why I love Minecraft. It brings people together and can create something beautiful.

*Fun Facts:* BDoubleO and GoodTimesWithScar joined Heritcraft in *Season 4!* Etho and BDubs led a "Civil War" between the OG's of Minecraft and the New Generation. *Season 6* is when Grain, RentheDog? Don't quote me on that! But Season 6 is when a lot of the Shanigains that Hermitcraft is known for all started!
*Season 7* is when you started to get the Storylines with everyone! Scar became Mayor and Grian led the Mycelium Resistance. This is where a lot of the Edits and Animatics come from with Scar being the "Mayor Villain." You also have "Shady Eees" that Etho started but it was a funny bit that Etho did. And just like with Scar there are some What Ifs Animatics of Etho becoming the Villain.
*Season 8* is when the whole Server Storyline kinda started with the Moon, the Moon Cult, Scar being Scar in trying to "scam" people outta their diamonds with the Swaggon, and just like in Season 7 there are some animatics with Scar being a Villain and joining Evil X.
*Season 9* is where the "Red King" comes in to play with Hermitcraft. RentheDog was the Red King in the 3rd Life of the Life Series. And he became the King of Hermitcraft. Grian once again led the Resistance against Ren. And of course, this is the Season where we get the classic "Dynamic Duo" of Hot Guy (Scar) and Cute Guy (Grian).
*Season 10* is still ongoing so I haven't had the chance to binge-watch the Creators since I'm literally, binge-watching Ren Season 7, Grian Season 8, and Scar Season 9.
I"'m not sure when the "Goatman" DocM77 joined since he is well known for his Restone and outrageous Builds/Security System.
Bdubs didn't join in Season 4, he joined in season 1, then came back in season 5. Rendog joined in hermitcraft season 4. You missed out with the storyline of the civil war in season 6. Docm joined in season 3 as it is said in the video. Grian did not lead a resistance in season 9 he just helped people with them. Also from what I believe Ren the King and the Red King are two completely different characters.

I've always wanted to watch this series but didn't have the time. Seeing how you were able to summarize the dsmp so well, I'm sure you'll do amazing with this as well.
The display of all the hermits on the red sands lacks a very important pair of wide, surprised even, eyes. Was Keralis not active then, despite joining earlier?
Keralis was an original member, but he did not become active on the server until it was a month in.
Keralis played Seasons 1-3 but became inactive for a few years. He came back to HC near the end of Season 6 and has been back since then. But he wasn't a part of S4 or 5.
Which begs more questions. Was he active on Mindcrack or any other SMP during those seasons, working solo, or did he quit gaming all together. Was he playing other games?
@@sirtainlee8725 Nah he didn't join Mindcrack. He was still a member of HC just inactive. If I remember right he mainly did Ark Survival and City Skylines at the time. And did solo Minecraft videos like Build Showcases.
Lots of other hermits at the time like Dmac Slipg8r and Zueljin went down the Ark route too. But Keralis was the only one to come back out of them.

As a mumbo subscriber a headcannon I have for hermitcraft is that all there hermits player are part of that minecraft society that in minecraft lore all turned into endermen but the hermit players are and alternate versions that still went thru minecraft cannon storyline but we’re able to travel to different worlds(Different servers) that will overall allow for each worlds and then players builds to help keep them all safe

I got into Hermitcraft at the start of Season 9, and while I have seen a few clips and images of earlier seasons, I still know almost nothing about them, so this is really nice to finally find out more about the history of this awesome server. Looking forward to part 2!
