  • Another month, another vocal range video! This time, I brought to you SOLANGE! Don't we all love her? She's such a great and underrated artist. The "A Seat At The Table" album is the peak of her artistry.
    Vocally, she's interesting too. Probably one of the strangest voices I know. She's a soprano, but her belting range seems to contrast it. She belts less and less each year, but maybe it's just a stylistic choice. However, her low range and head voice are truly from a soprano. Her low is great, but she tends to lower her larynx a lot. And yeah, her head voice! The biggest reason makes Solange stand out as a vocalist. She's just so adept in this register. Bright, connected and flexible. She also has nice agility throughout her range too, especially in head voice.
    So, what do you think of her? Comment now!
    Thanks for watching guys!

    Solange with Beyonce's technique would be a force to be reckoned with.

      knuxfan23 no she would be a clone. Her technique is fine it’s just different than Beyoncé. Her music is the opposite to the tone of Beyoncé. It’s very mellow also she isn’t the same vocal range. She’s a soprano with different style.Very rnb ,jazz and blues. Bey is a mezzo with roots in rnb, gospel and Opera.

    Yes! Thanks for doing this. I love Solo! She def needs more spotlight on her vocals.
    The B4's and C5's are some of the best B4s and C5s I've ever heard.
    Her belting technique has gotten so much better since her sophomore album.
    Head head voice/falsetto is one of the best in the game!
    The A5 in Bad Girls is also one of the best A5's in head voice.
    Always loved the head notes like the G5/Bb5/A5 in "Destiny" on AOL BLack Voices, and ESPECIALLY THE B5 from T.O.N.Y For AOL Black Voices of T.O.N.Y. (that was the better B5 from that song).
    "Thrill is Gonne" back to back B5s >>>>>>>>>>
    Head/falsetto notes on "Stillness is the Move" will foreverly belife!
    "Cranes in the Sky" C#6, ICONIC >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
    Okay, basically,s he SLAYS!

    G3/G#3 - B4/C5 - A5/Bb5
    Strengths:
    Strong head voice. Can support up to C#6 at best and relaxed up to Eb6.
    Occasional resonance in mid belts (up to Bb4)
    Some E5’s in head voice are resonant.
    Can support down to F#3 at best.
    Weaknesses:
    Inconsistencies in support range. Notes from G3-A3 are pretty much 50/50 chance of being supported.
    Mixed notes above C5 are tight and squeezed and very rarely relaxed.
    Tier: Above Average

    • @vincentr2465
      @vincentr2465 7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Really depends, you can't really tell a singer's voice type based just on range, specially in the soprano category. Things like passagio regions, qualities in the lower and upper registers, tone and imput also have to be taken into consideration. Your range seems to be most likely the one of a soprano, but then again, many of the factor I've just talked about have to be taken into consideration

    • @rydercdaniels4475
      @rydercdaniels4475 7 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Uchenna Echebelem why are you making up voice types???? "Leggiero" is only reserved for Tenors NOT sopranos. Solange is a light lyric soprano nothing more & nothing less.

    • @uchennaechebelem7227
      @uchennaechebelem7227 7 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      RyderC Daniels I do not won't to use vulgar words but you just show everyone your stupidity on voice typing. Leggero is a voice type for Soprano and Tenor. I, myself is a Male Soprano with a vocal range of G#3 to C#7, but if you add vocal fry and whistle register its F3 to E7. However, I am classified as a Soprano Acuto Sfogato. Anyway, when I started out singing I was a Male Soprano Leggero that could only can sing to a Eb6 and E6 which is typical for a Soprano Leggero! So I know what I'm talking about sir....go and study on Soprano sub-categories before you post anything else dumb and ridiculous...better yet stupid!
